Aldi has recently undergone an extension and refurb. With the current credit crunch it is becoming an increasingly popular supermarket rivalling the larger stores, Asda and Tesco.
It will probably take a few shops before you like shopping at Aldi. It is not as smart as other supermarkets and doesn't have such a huge range of products but the food is of a very high quality. We particularly like the cold meats and cheeses and always shop at Aldi if we are having a buffet.
The down side to this shop is that it is always quite busy but they often only have 1 member of staff on the tills so you can't really just pop in and grab a couple of bits as it will probably take you longer to get through the checkout than it will to do your shop.
They also have a large selection of non food products which they have special offers on. It is worth picking up a brochure while in store as they often have sought after products at greatly discounted prices.
I think it is definately worth giving Aldi a try. Most of my friends now shop here regularly and they all rave about it. Don't forget to take your £1 for the trolley & your shopping bags! read more
