But to find it, I had to do a bit of looking and on the way to the airport , made my driver, Nathan, stop so that i could buy some (along with beans). They have many other items, some of them local, from the pumpkins (can't carry those in a suitcase alas) to sweet pepers and a lot of other tasty delights which are NOT made locally. they are only open until Oct 31, so plan on getting there before Halloween. Hours for September and October: 8am-8pm (or dark) We drove from Noblesville, I was so happy they were still open! Plenty to do for the kids, playground, bounce houses, straw pile, photo ops. They offer U-pick apples & Pumpkins or if you're in a hurry they're ready to grab from the red barn. Pumpkins are super reasonably priced at $.40 a Lb or pie pumpkins for $3. The concession stand is open on Saturday & Sunday. I love the fried biscuits with apple butter & of course you must get the apple cider slushies!! I don't remember seeing it prior, but they had apple cobbler warmed up with ice cream, delicious! I just love this place so much! Now it is my understanding that everything they pickle has some sort of local beer in it. No idea how they do it, but it works.. plain and simple. I have used these dragon tail carrots as part of a charcuterie board and also incorporated them as garnish for Bloody Marys, both very successful. These carrots, while pickled, have maintained a lot of crunch, which is great, because who likes soggy carrots? They also pack an adventure for your taste buds. They are not hot, but do have such a savory flavor. It's just really hard to describe. Never tasted anything like it, but thoroughly enjoy this discovery and will most certainly buy more and also try their other products. Just go buy a couple of jars of their pickled stuff, you won't regret it.
