Despite other orchards/pumpkin patches absolutely price gouging families, Anderson Orchard remains the same and reasonably priced. Hours for September and October: 8am-8pm (or dark) We drove from Noblesville, I was so happy they were still open! Plenty to do for the kids, playground, bounce houses, straw pile, photo ops. They offer U-pick apples & Pumpkins or if you're in a hurry they're ready to grab from the red barn. Pumpkins are super reasonably priced at $.40 a Lb or pie pumpkins for $3. The concession stand is open on Saturday & Sunday. I love the fried biscuits with apple butter & of course you must get the apple cider slushies!! I don't remember seeing it prior, but they had apple cobbler warmed up with ice cream, delicious! I just love this place so much! Don't leave without a bag of apples, Carmel apples, apple cider & get some of those fried biscuits! Highly recommend bringing the whole family.

It was nice that they didn't charge to come to the grounds and pay just to be there. Would definitely come again.

Indiana has a new delicious pickle business in town but not just any pickle business. Indiana…read morePickle Company brines their veggies and fruit in local beers and spirits. Think carrots brined in Triton Brewing's porter beer (wildhair example). I was fortunate to sample three of the pickles and especially enjoyed the pickled pears - there was something earthy and fall-ish about them. The recipe is a family recipe that has been passed down. Finally, we all know I'm a sucker for strong branding - Indiana Pickle Company nailed it.

Came across these guys at a local Indiana artisans event. Bought myself a big jar of Dragon Tails,…read morepickled carrots to be exact. Now it is my understanding that everything they pickle has some sort of local beer in it. No idea how they do it, but it works.. plain and simple. I have used these dragon tail carrots as part of a charcuterie board and also incorporated them as garnish for Bloody Marys, both very successful. These carrots, while pickled, have maintained a lot of crunch, which is great, because who likes soggy carrots? They also pack an adventure for your taste buds. They are not hot, but do have such a savory flavor. It's just really hard to describe. Never tasted anything like it, but thoroughly enjoy this discovery and will most certainly buy more and also try their other products. Just go buy a couple of jars of their pickled stuff, you won't regret it.
