This Aldi location has plenty of parking. The store is pretty big so they have a large selection. The prices are good. Most items are off brand which does not matter to most. My only downer is there seems to never be enough registers. I went on a Sunday afternoon. Only two registers open. no express.. So I had to wait behind 3 cart loads of food for 2 lbs of butter :/ read more

So what it really comes down this that you're not really coming to Aldi if you're looking for gourmet stuff. Most of the brands here you've never heard of (Clancy's, Burman's, Millville, etc). You're probably not going to find everything you need to get here. Chances are if you shop at Aldi, you have to make a second trip to Giant in order to finish your list. But... If you have a big family to feed, you want to stock up on cereal, you have no brand loyalty, and you want cheap prices without having to pay for a BJ's membership, then this place does serve a purpose. Every now and then I get a good deal here. That's all I need. read more

I was happy to find gluten free "Pad Thai Rice noodle bowl" as this weeks Aldi Find as I have a GF mate, till I made it. The instructions stated to, Drain Well after noodles become soft, but firm. Empty sauce & vegetables over noodles, microwave one min on high then enjoy. There was no joy, what you are then left with is a stuck together, gooey wad of sadness. I was lucky enough that about a 1/4 of the water I drained off landed in a clean bowl that was in the sink and was added back into the glop in hopes of freeing it up. Even with adding soy sauce and chopped green onion it was still just above gruel. I bought 2 so the second one, when I get the nerve to try it will get a cup of chicken stock/broth added back after the water draining. read more

Recently, I had been bitching about the unavailability in America, of my favorite German Snack on a Yelp Thread. A very helpful Yelper suggested I try Aldi, as it is a German Transplant here in the US. It was a great idea and I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before. See, I had been to Aldi before but in Germany, never here. I wasn't sure where one was. After a little research, I was surprised to learn that there is one located only a mile away from where I live. I'll get the bad out of the way straight off. As far as my original reason for seeking it out- to find some German products, that I have been unable to locate- it was a fail. While it is a German Based supermarket, they keep it American with their merchandise.That said, it was hard to be disappointed, what with all the positives. First- I haven't been back to Germany in about 7 years and I miss it. Walking through the doors immediately transported me back to Germany. I can't really explain it but it's just that the layout of the store is unlike anything we know in America. Kind of like being herded like cattle, but in a good way. Second- The prices are amazing. I had made up my mind not to get anything, if they didn't have what I was looking for. I didn't even get a cart or basket. I can tell you that I looked like a complete ass carrying a bunch of items in my arms, by the time I reached the cashier. I just couldn't pass some of the things I saw up. An example: Starbucks Frappuchino drink- $3 ...their brand .79. Third- All this means nothing if the product is crap. It wasn't. And I'd even go as far to say that some things were just as good if not better than the name brands. That coffee drink? I couldn't tell you which is which if I was blindfolded. The chips I bought were also surprisingly good for the price. While my German Snack fix continues to be a white whale, I have found a new place to stock my pantry and stay within budget. No jokes or tomfoolery, Aldi is the real deal. read more

Aldi a decent little place! Important things to know: they're closed on holidays (like Memorial Day.) You bag your own groceries on a shelf in the back of the joint and you should bring your own bags as well (unless you want to pay for them.) Bring a quarter for the cart (you get it back when the cart's returned.) It's eerily quiet- so when my little babe started doing some yelling, every shopper heard it loud and clear! There are a ton of inexpensive off-label (read: filled with sugar) products. The produce section had some deals- and yogurt was only $.37 cents! I had to drive out of my way a little to get here so I'm not sure I'll make too many trips back but it was a decent experience- it's a discount grocery store and that's that! read more

I personally love this grocery store. It's close to my home and has great low prices. I can find most of the basic essentials I need here and it's usually cheaper than anywhere else. Don't be deterred by the off brands people. The quality is usually just as good. The only downside to this place is YOU CAN'T PAY WITH CREDIT CARDS?! I find that really inconvenient and out of touch with the 21st century. Don't get confused, you can pay with debit cards though. I say if you're in the area and are living on a budget (who isn't these days? ) then give them a try! read more

I know, you're thinking the worst about Aldi. Stop. Get your quarter, grab your bags and go inside. The quarter is for the shopping basket. You have to insert a quarter to release a shopping cart. This provides an incentive to return the cart yourself (you get your quarter back). If you are on a budget, then make Aldi your first grocery stop. You might be able to do all your shopping at Aldi, but it is unlikely. However, you can get staples for affordable prices. Aldi has its own brand of processed products, like crackers, chips, cookies, and soda. The quality is not bad at all. There are no organic options at this point. Aldi also has its own label of butter, milk, eggs, cheese, pre-packaged foods, and meats, all which are of decent quality. I've never purchased something there that was disappointing. I usually get things like frozen vegetables and fruit, vegetables, and kitchen staples (salt, sugar, canned garlic) at Aldi. Aldi also sells its own brand of cosmetics and skin care. It's heavily fragranced, but not shabby. read more

It's cheap and usually pretty clean. Bring a quarter for the cart and your own bags! I really hate buying food. Aldi makes it not feel like I got mugged. Sure there are no name brands, very limited selection and not even bags but its cheap. I do an Aldi run at least once a month for staples then supplement at other stores when I need something specific. The quality is usually great for food and so-so for cleaning supplies and other stuff. Never go in for 1-2 things, the lines are almost always long. read more

Prices and selection were great. However, one of the cashiers was rude and pushy and it was very upsetting.

Love that they have lots of organic products and are consistent. They let you use the bathroom unlike other discount grocers. They are nice and friendly and have the best prices. Check them out. read more

This is my favorite place to go grocery shopping. They just re-did the store and it's beautiful. They now have a larger selection of everything. Everything is cheaper than the big chain grocery stores. I have a family of four and by coming here I save about $40 per week. That's $2080 a year. read more

This sore is getting "older". It appears that they don't like to put money back into this building. I understand this is a discount store and the margins are more then likely low but even still..... They have mostly off brand name items and only a few selections of most products. So, you won't need to worry about making a decision on which canned corn you're gonna purchase. The turnover rate of cashier seems high as well. It seems they are forever advertising help wanted for that position. read more

I just called Aldi corporate and it will be opening in the end of September. it is not shut down for good it's a grand reopening.I buy cans eggs BACON Cereal butter and cheese from here. The meats and fruits are okay; hopefully new store does better in produce read more

aldi means low pricce; BUT on CERTAIN types of TOILET PAPER, PRICE label is always WRONG in every store ; sometimes $2 to $4 overcharge; after 6months, same issue at another store; /////////// read more

This is a pretty solid place, I used to come here when I lived in Darby. Great prices, nothing really gourmet or overly special, but if you are on a budget, this place definitely does the trick! I used to go to Save-a-lot before finding this place, and I have to say, it's definitely a step up! read more

I've just spent over 20 minutes, looking at over 10 different websites to find the phone number to my local ALDI, and not one of 10 different ALDI websites had the phone number. ALDI must get a kickback from the phone company when it charges customers requesting phone numbers. What scum! read more
