Not even 9am at Aldi's. Asked if someone else could open a line and they said no even though there were three other associates working.

Stop in before 9am the line was into the next set of aisles. When I asked if there was a way to open another line I was flat out told NO! There were at least three other associates there. This is how Aldi's values their customers

I came here at around 12:30pm and there were quite a few customers shopping here. Usually mid-day you wouldn't see so many customers shopping inside of a grocery store. I didn't particularly like this store that much for several reasons. There's literally trash everywhere. And what annoys me ev3n more is that there is a whole aisle with both sides stocked with stupid items. An entire section is devoted to only planter pots for flowers and small tress. Seriously? How about installing an actual bakery to replace this wasted space? I'm no grocery store expert, but one would think that they could sell more bakery items or deli meats, instead of ridiculous weed puller tools and glass vases. I was hoping to pick-up a prepared delivery sandwich, or even a si gle muffin to eat for lunch. They have nothing like that at this store. And they o ly sell 6 packs of pre-made muffi s. Nothing fresh from the deli here. I settled on a inexpensive pack of provolone cheese.

Disgusting they were all aware didn't care this is horrible

It's ok. It's always crowded Monday-Sunday. They stay stocked with everything I need, though.

The kimchee is either cabbage and cucumber, and comes in small (a little bigger than a deck of cards $3) or large (the size of a day planner, approx 8.5"x5" $6) Plus, the couple who runs the place is so nice and helpful, and super quick! Sometimes the lady gives me a sample of freshly made kimchee if she's cooking in the back which is mmm :) And the bulgogi ($6/lb I believe) is amazing. Foolproof, and an easy way to pretend that you're an impressive cook. These guys are the first produce section inside when you're coming to Eastern Market from the metro. They always have beautiful displays of a good selection of fruits and veggies (prices are a little on the steeper side in general, but that's Eastern Market for you). I usually swing by here if I need a last minute lemon/garlic/parsnip/leek/etc after work, but I usually shy away from it on weekends when it's packed. Also, veggies/fruits in season are reasonably priced here and better quality than what you would find at Harris Teeter or Safeway. They also have a mini-grocery with staples and sauces. If you have no car and can't get out to H mart or Wegman's, this place has a good selection of Asian cooking sauces. Lentils were $3/bag here though, so I would stay away from other cheap staples unless absolutely necessary. Tip: Make sure to bring your reusable bag so they don't charge that new DC bag tax (they're strict at this place). Yes, you will get a banana and be expected to either hold it or bring your own bag. Location: the most Southern end of the South Hall. Also labeled as Paik's produce, and right next to Fine Sweet Shop.

We had spent 30 minutes wandering the market but quickly realized what a terrible idea that is on an empty stomach. After selecting a few stalks of their crisp, red rhubarb, while at the register we began eying the large, fresh-looking to-go containers of bibimbap, including a big scoop of white rice and a wide array of sauteed and fresh vegetables - one came with tofu (my selection) and the other option with beef (my husband's choice). Each lunch portion was $6.99. Both were delicious and refreshing. The accompanying chili paste had just the right amount of heat. We both finished our entire meals (and one fresh-squeeze raspberry lemonade from another vendor outside) sitting in the shade in the small square out back. Exactly what I was looking for for Saturday lunch.

It was off putting. I asked the location if their guards to escort me to the car. Sometimes the guards were able to help. I feel better when hubby is with me. Life shouldn't be this complicated for produce and milk. If you don't have complications outside, the inventory is just like most Aldi's. The produce is decent. There is a variety of breads. Milk has been reasonably priced. The eggs are higher than Walmart. The meat selection is decent. The frozen items are varied. We like perogies. The cashier's are nice. If hubby is with me, he picks me up at the front of the store. It decreases the encounters we have outside with the riffraff.

ALDI - This is exactly the kind of thing I like but they screwed it up by using a Hatch Chili purée seasoning instead of pieces of Hatch Chili's
