This is the first ALDI I have seen with self checkout registers. Even with the self checkout option, there were two cash register lanes opened for those who preferred not to check out themselves. The store was clean and orderly. There was a lot of ALDI staff on the floor stocking and moving back and forth. With the extra customers and staff working, it did make moving around the store a bit more complicated at times. Even though the checkout lines were long, they moved along quickly. Overall, this is a decent enough Aldi. I guess that it would be safe to say that Aldi and I have a somewhat love/hate type relationship. While Aldi has some good deals, some of their items are not such great deals. It would also be nice if they put a bit more emphasis on customer service. The ambiance is decent enough. The Apopka store is fairly a small store. The prices are fairly good. It is slightly slow in the staffing. I like the healthier varieties of food available there . I do however I have an issue that the stores themselves are uncallable they have no phone numbers and I've gone to the store two times for a specific item was told they get a truck in every day but their coconut milk in the dairy section has not been filled (totally empty ) in the last two days and I'm tired of driving out there when they don't have what I want read more

Aldi is one of those places you need to go a few times to like it then you love it. Today I went to the Aldi in Apopka Florida to pick up some milk and some other items. Today the Avacados were on sale for .49 cents each and were ripe to perfection. I bought a half dozen. I also bought some strawberries and a pineapple were also looked ready to eat. Milk and eggs always seem to be cheaper at the Aldi stores. This was the first time I been at this store and found it clean and well stocked. This was the first store I seen with a self serve scanning cashier. Everything I needed was available and I am glad I came. Will return. read more

It finally reopened! After 1.5 month having to shop at other Aldis in the area, the Apopka Aldi opened after the remodel. Growing up in Germany, Aldi has always been the place to shop and I am so glad it's now available in the US. The "new" Aldi is now very much like the ones in Germany. The produce section is much larger and the aisles are wider. They also have a larger selection of special items it seems. They still have all my favorite items and all the german chocolate I desire . All in all it's the same great place, just more open, with a little bit of a larger variety and better organization. Well done read more

Cashier short changed me. Manager kept my receipt. Aldi has no clear way to complain about this. Stores have no individual phone numbers. Their 855 is not staffed. It is recorded and let's you know this is being done to pass on savings to you. On June 12th, I gave an Aldi cashier $80.25 (4 $20.00 bills and a quarter) for a $61.25 purchase. Aldi's took my money and my receipt. I have complained to other agencies but I would like others to know that they need to be careful in this store with your cash. When the cashier gave me change back it was 4 dollar bills and change. Before I gave the cashier $80.25 I paused and let her know what I was giving her. I didn't just hand it to her. I told her I gave you $80.00. She goes in her register pulls up 3 -$20.00 bills and says you gave me $60.00. Where is the other $20.00? I believe this was done purposefully. She never produced any other bill that I allegedly gave her that would have allowed her to give me the change she did. Aldi needs to look at this camera activity from all views and return my money and my receipt. The manager wanted me to remain at the store while they tried to figure out what happened. They were taking a lot of time for which they were being paid. The manager said she was going to look at the camera. I waited for about 15 minutes. The cashier came and got her money drawer. I could never get any indication of how long this was going to take. I took my groceries and put them in the car and came back. I then asked the cashier on the floor to ask the manager to give me my receipt that I had given her to look at She refused to give it back. I feel that that my money was taken deliberately and that my receipt was withheld deliberately. Why could not a copy be made of that? Be careful when doing cash transactions who you release your receipt to, all are not honest. Maybe you want to take a picture before you release the receipt. Be careful short changers are the dirty secret of retail. They exist and they are usually very nice so as not to bring attention to what they are doing. read more

This ALDI is nice but it and 711 are the only stores I have issues with my Apple Pay. I go to check out and it declines my transaction even though there's double the money on my Apple Cash. I'm sure I would not have had an issue with other forms of Apple Pay but it denied my Apple Cash 4 times. I used it to load my chick fil a card while standing there so I know it's a ALDI issue. Just a warning if you go to pay with the Apple Cash in your Apple Pay it probably won't work there. read more

I have been counting the minutes until this ALDI's remodel was complete and their doors were open once again! After months of shopping at the Altamonte Springs ALDI, which (as you may have guessed..) is not my favorite, I am super stoked to be able to shop here once more! The new building is much improved on the inside and the out, with an expansive parking lot, new brightly lit sign, wider aisles and brand new refrigerator and freezer cases, everything about this ALDI has been upgraded. The usual ALDI caveats still apply: bring a quarter to use a cart, bring your own bags, purchase them at the register or scavenge for unused boxes as you go through the store, and yes, they don't have the full compliment of products that huge chains like Walmart have, but I'd rather casually stroll through ALDI that fight my way through Walmart any day. New to ALDI in 2018 is a full line of vegetarian and vegan products called Earth Grown! I am very excited to be able to find vegan meat and cheese substitutes at ALDI now. If you accept that ALDI won't ever be your one-stop shop for every item you need to buy, you can't beat it for the deals that it does offer, and you won't find a better or cleaner ALDI than this one. read more

Alright Aldi, you've got great prices, great food, and the fastest cashiers in these great YOUnited States! I only have one serious problem..... Aldi pajamas?!? It's a good thing we're done having children cause those things are more effective than any form of birth control out there! On a positive note, these pajamas have improved our communication. This super market is full of savings. They may not carry all the major name brands and a huge selection but they have the essentials and good variety. The set up is very basic but it works. I usually don't like generic name brands and when i first started coming here I remember feeling skeptical that everything looked so generic but I was very pleasantly surprised. All the food tastes great you have some that miss the mark but very few. The produce is always great and you cant beat the prices. I also really like the middle isle with their housewares. Lines always move fast and i always get good service. Bring your own bag or you can purchase them upfront when you pay. Also don't forget to bring your quarter to get a cart. read more

I am an absolute ALDI fan. If you're looking for brand name items, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for fresh produce at amazing prices or pantry staples at a reasonable price, ALDI is where you want to be. This location is one of the ones that has recently been remodeled and I really like the changes. It's more open, more modern, and the produce section looks a lot better now. The aisles are easier to navigate and has a much better flow. This isn't the closest location to me any more so I only get to visit occasionally. But if you do live close I definitely recommend checking it out for quality groceries at much better prices than your traditional grocery store. read more

Wow! Loved the variety at the store here and it was so cool seeing some familiar European brands again too! Lots of German chocolate brands too, which was awesome to see. Really wide aisles and very well lit store. However it is a limited selection to some extent - so you won't find like more than 2/3 varieties of any produce eg it's just olives marinated in oil or in garlic available here, not marinated in chili flakes or sea salt or all those different selections you might see at Fresh Market or Whole Foods in comparison. One thing that it is very important to note - can only pay with cash here (NOTE - above was the policy when I originally wrote the review. This was the first Aldi I had ever been to and it's safe to say I am a fan. It does have it's quirky things like having to pay 25 cents for a cart (you get it back when you return it) and bagging your own goods. I'll gladly do this because the prices are wonderful here. I usually stock up on produce at our local wholesale club but we just weren't going through it fast enough which resulted in items going bad very quickly. Aldi has not only saved us money but also solved the problem of buying just enough produce for 2 people to consume in a weeks time without anything going to waste. Aldi has their own brands which takes getting used to. They have a healthier "Fit & Active" brand and plenty of organic options too. Their Benton brand cookies are comparable to Girl Scout cookies which is insane. I've found that shopping earlier in the day is key if you want to shop well stocked shelves. I've arrived after work a few times to empty barren shelves especially in the produce area. Also, there is an aisle with "Aldi Finds" which are marked low to get rid of from what it looks like. So if you see something, grab it. I've loving this store. As much as I love another popular grocery chain, the price of produce here is worth the trip alone. read more

Hmmm...I am having a hard time rating this Aldi because it does not have the variety I am used to. I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could have but since I can't I am rating it for the yelp family and customers so I have to go with 3. Why 3? Because it is A-ok for Aldi..great prices etc. However, the diversity of items is not as expansive. Thus, I will have to go to the other ones. This is a clean store, well stocked, but I need the items to be available to stock. Normal Aldi things...25 cents for the carts...byob...and for most of us, that does not mean bring your own booze but bring your own bags or you will have to buy some. That is one of the way they keep the prices so low, you only pay for what you need. Of course I would go there again, but not if I needed several items, I would then go to another location. My low rating for this location has to do with service! This location has poor service. Everyone appears to supper busy to get their customers in and out. 5 clerks on the floor with one person on the register. During my last visit as usual after picking up the baby from daycare we stop by this location. While loading the baby, his bag and purse into the cart I begin to shop. After selecting everything I needed I proceeded to check out. The young lady sitting behind the register asked if I found everything then asked if I entered the store with the apple sauce poach the baby was eating. I replied of course we shop at this location weekly. I also pointed to the new box I had just purchased. The clerk then said, oh cause I would've had to take it from him. I looked at her said replied, oh really! I don't think so! She was rude and meant what she said as she didn't even smile. My receipt says that my cashier was Maritz! They need to keep her away from customers! read more

I was soooo excited when I saw they were opening up an Aldi's near me! This Apopka location opened a few months ago and has much better prices than Walmart. Of course, they don't have EVERYTHING like Walmart but what they do have is mostly good to excellent. Their produce is very good and the price is much lower than any other store around. Once bought a container of strawberries there which were 1.29 - went to The Fresh Market next day and the same brand strawberries were 2.99. They have gourmet lettuce for almost 1/2 price. Their salsa (refrigerated) is delicious, very fresh tasting. Hummus is excellent at about half the price of Sabra at Publix. Some of their canned items are just ok, others are same flavor/consistency as name brands. Found eggs to be almost tasteless. Baked goods are nice, most frozen items (desserts, fish, entrees) are very good. In short, you won't find very many name brands but you will save a lot of money and most of their food is very good to excellent. Produce quality/prices is where they shine. read more
