The course offered an enjoyable layout and was very walkable, though we chose to rent carts since it was our first visit. The carts were in good condition, though it's worth noting they are equipped with horns, which can be accidentally triggered when getting in or out. The primary challenge we encountered was the mosquitos, which were persistent throughout the round. While the clubhouse does provide complimentary bug spray, we were only made aware of this at the turn. A brief mention of this amenity upon check-in--especially for first-time players--would have been greatly appreciated. Following our round, we had lunch at the clubhouse restaurant, which served very good food and provided a pleasant conclusion to the day. read more

I would highly recommend this track. I went off early and was done in under three hours. They are clearly putting a lot of effort in to get the course into great shape. There are a few rough patches but generally the tee boxes and greens were in great shape. The restaurant looks good and I will be heading back to take my kids to the range and grab lunch. read more

So... This is not an old review, but it will be an honest one . So here goes. If this was just a review for the restaurant would easily be a 4 star review! The food is fantastic! Pace of play was terrible, the course was avg at best. The pro shop was insanely miss managed. Seemed to have a back up around 1130am. We reserved a few days before with a Cart, and no cart available. We also weren't the only ones without a cart that was purchased prior. The older gentleman with the white beard and a bit longer hair cut, you sir are my hero! He worked in the pro shop and at the turn helped us get a cart! The course overall is an avg PNW course. I would probably try this course again and possibly change this from a 2 star to a 3. I don't think the course has enough potential to be more than a 3star. However with the food plus the course. Overall could be a solid 4star establishment. Need some serious help in the Pro shop. We drove down from Gearhart to try the course for something new for Father's Day, and were quite pleased. It's a beautiful course, the obvious improvments are a +++. Don't put much weight on the old reviews, this course was a wonderful find. Staff was very nice, starter and pro shop organized and informative. Played here for the first time today with one of my best friends, Ryan P. There are only two choices if you want to golf in Tillamook--Alderbrook and a little nine hole, par 3 course beside the Cheese Factory (which I believe is called Bay Breezes). This one is a not super long course and is a par 69, so those of you that live off par 5s, will be sorely disappointed. The course is about 5 (maybe 10) minutes north of Tillamook proper, just east of 101. The club house is the same as the bar/snack shop. The guy who helped this morning was perfectly nice, friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. We got two 18 holes and a cart for around $70, so that's pretty fair. The course itself is a decent one. The fairways are super, super rough (physically they're covered in mounds and bumps)--it's difficult to drive across them at full throttle in a cart. It seems pretty clear that the fairways were never rolled when the course was being made. Also, there isn't much distinction between the fairway and the rough--often it's difficult to know where one ends and the other begins. The holes are set up nicely--pretty basic. The greens are generally on the smaller side. The front 9 is pretty flat and the back is built into the base of the hills so there is a lot of elevation gain and loss. One hole on the back in particular comes to mind--a 128 yard par 3 that has probably 100 feet or more of elevation gain to the green. Crazy stuff but pretty cool. Also, because you are on the coast wind is generally a big factor. At the turn we stopped in to get some snacks and drinks and this is where we were very impressed. Their prices of snacks and drinks are almost enough to give it four stars. We got four bitch liquors (Mike's Hard Lemonade, etc.), two candy bars and pepperoni for only $16. Those that golf a lot are all too familiar with the $3 cokes, $2 candy bars, and $5-$6 (or more) drinks. It was very refreshing not to get completely screwed with buying refreshments at a golf course. This is a very fun course, reasonably priced and without many (any?) alternatives in the area. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. Nothing bad at all about it, just not spectacular or legendary. read more

Great course, good prices, and terrific service! We had a blast! The cart could have been cleaner, but overall, a challenging, beautiful, and fun course. You can't miss the back nine hitting up to and off the hill. So fun! They have plenty of clean port-a-pottys, and low pressure: no Marshall breathing down your neck. This is a truly fun course. If you're looking for an unpredictable course that can have your ball bouncing 10 yards in front or backwards, this is it. Plus, the big trees can be your friends when the ball goes right or left. They saved me a few times. Heard they are trying to turn it into a championship golf course, so can't wait to see the progression. Totally recommend for a quick 9 hole. read more

Fairway grass way too long . Lost 3 balls off drives into fairway. Grass so long could not find ball. Sand traps overgrown with grass and weeds. Greens were ok. This could be a fun course, but not when a good drive costs you a stroke and a ball. read more

Played the NEW nine on 7-16-11. Cost is $30.00 for 9 holes. They changed very little. It was a cow pasture before and not much better now. Lipstick on a pig comes to mind. Will not be back. read more

Great experience playing Alderbrook on Friday. The course was in excellent shape. The weather could not have been better. The clubhouse is gorgeous. The halibut fish tacos were 5 star and reasonable. I would go just to hang out at the clubhouse. The staff was also super friendly. A great find. read more

Wow! If you haven't been to Alderbrook in a while, be sure to stop by and enjoy the new clubhouse. The thought "spared no expense" comes to mind - this place is beautiful. The upstairs bar and restaurant have an pleasant upscale feel which is hard to find in Tillamook. Ate brunch on the deck overlooking the course and the food was really tasty. The course itself is still being redone so I am waiting with anticipation to play the new course next spring. Just hope they don't hike the green fees 'cause it's very reasonable now. read more

Golfed here for the first time with 6 other friends. Really fun course..not too hard but not too easy. The nicest staff and great, great food. Super friendly..would 100% recommend it. We walked the front 9 but could have probably used a cart because of the topography. Hoping to play again in a couple of weeks. read more

We made reservations in January with Liam....Family reunion, which we have had at this course serveral times, called to confirm our groups to be informed our group had been bumped for a bigger group.....with zero notice, golf shirts printed...awards done, family coming from up and down west coast...how could they not even inform us that they chose the bigger group after we had already been confirmed....because people it's about the MONEY, many of us a Tillamook born and raised, I am shocked at the complete disrespect for others, the plans, the money that went into all of this to be tossed out like dirt, never again will we patronize this business and would not recommend supporting such a money hungry company...Thank goodness after all was said and done...Manzanita golf course took us in, they are under new ownership and did what they could to save our reunion! I will never return to this golf course again! To start with, they wouldn't take a phone call for a tee time. When I made a tee time online, they didn't honor it when we got there 35 minutes early to practice. They said it wouldn't work out for them--middle of the men's club--and that if we didn't start immediately without practice, they couldn't guarantee how long it would take us to get around the course. The layout is awful but I can understand that the geography limits what they could do. But the fairways are cut to the level of the first rough. The 14th hole is a par 3--only a 100 yards--but at a 45 degree angle straight uphill. Beyond the frustration of such a difficult hole to play, remember to bring your driver because the next tee box is up and beyond that green, not that you can see it! But don't attempt to drag your clubs up there because you might perish. You will get quite a good workout walking between greens and teeboxes because they are huge distances apart; you could even got lost. At the 9th hole, we looked for bottled water or Gatorade--no water to drink on course anywhere--but it could only be found in the pro shop. At the end of your round, if you're tired and frustrated and you go into the beautiful bar--it really is--and you're as unfortunate as the group I played in was, there will be no one to serve you any kind of refreshments. When we finally got service, that didn't include water; back to the pro shop for that. Signage throughout the course is abysmal. Nothing to direct you when you first get there to the pro shop, nothing on the courses for next tees. It's all a guess. I wouldn't pay $5 to play this $45 course! read more

Thought the Clubhouse and the people were very nice but I didn't pay $55 for that. I paid the money for the course and the experience out there. The Fairways were bumpy and impossible to drive the carts on. Most greens were in terrible shape. On some holes we had no idea which way to go and I've played hundreds of courses so I know my way around a golf course. I would not reccommend this course to anyone, especially for the price. read more
