I'm a general contractor and I have some professional skills, that aid me in my business, but unfortunately bookkeeping/taxes are not in my repertoire. Same for my wife that is a baker. Edwin and his team, through diligence and hard work, methodically went through years of our mess to find thousands of dollars' worth of missed tax benefits. To date, Aldaris Group has paid for themselves by correcting one year's worth of Federal taxes, and they're still going, we're even looking at state taxes. When you receive a notice from the IRS it usually isn't fun news. After not seeing any success in getting in contact with the IRS especially during Covid I decided needed accounting expertise to help decipher the tax code and provide a plan going forward on a somewhat complicated trust matter. Given the excellent reviews elsewhere, I was shocked how unresponsive and incompetent this group is. We contacted the group and set up a meeting with Edwin to discuss the tax implications of an inheritance. He met with us and walked us through it. He promised to send us a summary of the meeting, which he did not. We did some quick Googling, and every single website noted that the law had recently changed and explained how Edwin's advice no longer applied. Because of this, the advice he gave us was flat out wrong and would result in a severe financial penalty. We then wrote to him to clarify the question, and he never wrote back. We had a very simple question, and he somehow got it wrong. I would never trust this firm for advice or tax preparation, as they do not seem to know what they are doing. read more

For the past 15 years, I've felt like the Goldilocks of clients as our CPAs have been either far too cold (terribly inattentive) or far too hot (crazy hyper-vigilant) When we found Edwin, I finally felt like there was someone who was looking out for our best interests. I think this is because he seems to really enjoy what he does and is very good at it. He is the CPA for the law firm I work for and has been extremely flexible, helpful and personable. Edwin was willing to conference in to a call I had to make to the payroll company for year-end issues. The payroll company wanted to charge me exorbitant fees, against which Edwin fought on behalf of our company as though it was his own. He also had the expertise that I didn't to communicate exactly what we needed from the payroll company. Further, Edwin has positioned us to greatly benefit by filing under the proper business structure.
