UPDATE: My accountant, Scherie, reached out to set up a call and get my questions answered, so I may update the rating later on. She apologized for the poor communication, which I appreciate--though I'm not sure why the administrative assistant (whose role I assume is to communicate/schedule on behalf of the accountant) is less communicative than the accountant herself? They are very responsive when trying to get your business, but as soon as you pay they disappear off the face of the earth. I have no idea what the status of my tax return is, nor whether the proper returns were even filed. One of the state tax departments reached out to me asking me to pay more and Dimov tax will not even confirm whether they filed that return, nor advise me on what should be done. The "administrative assistant" assigned to my case has not responded to my emails for a week, and when I try to call her it instantly gets sent to voicemail. I'm not sure what kind of people get 5-star treatment here, but it's certainly not everyone. In the past, we've also tried to schedule calls due to difficulty communicating and getting answers over emails, but the staff made it extremely difficult to do so, asked for what our questions were over email, and then gave non-answers to the questions and cancelled the meeting saying that the questions were already answered. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt that it was peak tax season when we reached out and hence we had difficulty reaching them, but the pattern is very clear: when they want payment, they will respond; after payment is given, service drops to almost zero. Paid for tax preparation services and did not receive a completed return by the deadline. After submitting documents a few weeks prior and told they had availability to do our taxes, I was given vague updates and ultimately only ballpark numbers on April 15. Now we have to pay penalties and find a new tax service. I can only hope for a refund. This is not what anyone should expect when paying for a professional service. The process felt disorganized, rushed, and lacking basic accountability. It appears this firm is overwhelmed and unable to deliver on time. This is my first year using Dimov (also my first Yelp review!). I provided them with my documents months ago and tonight, April 13th, I still have no return and no idea of my tax liability. I had an extremely bad experience. I hired them to do my taxes in the U.S. and Canada, and I paid them on March 3. My tax returns were quite simple, with only employment income. The U.S. tax deadline of April 15 came and went without any tax documents from them. Then, only four days before the Canadian tax deadline of April 30, on April 26, they emailed me saying they needed additional information from me to complete the tax returns. By that time, I had already used another company to file my taxes. I don't recommend them. They are extremely slow for no clear reason and were a waste of both money and time. read more

If you're looking to save tax by going with Dimov CPA vs using Turbo tax, then look elsewhere as my experience was that there was at best no difference with Turbo tax. Don't expect any professional guidance as I was the one having to provide all the details and they'll only work on the documents I provided instead of proactively providing any professional advice or checking with me to make sure I haven't missed any tax documents that can potentially save tax. I felt cost is high, especially considering the only service is basically hiring someone to run TurboTax for me. I ended up just filing with TurboTax myself and now requesting for refund with Dimov, which they're being slow and reluctant to provide. I'm not returning to this CPA. read more

I agree with others, the company has dropped off a cliff in 2026. I've used Dimov for a number of years now and they've always been responsive and professional. Their service is very different this year. Early in the year they were all rush rush rush to get commitment to use them, and payment of course, but now as tax time approaches there's delayed or vague "everything is on track" responses, and new people I've never delt with before, but no sign of my return. I have no idea why I made the mistake of using Dimov for not just one, but two years. A short list of my grievances with their services: * They are extremely responsive up until the day you pay them. Then they take forever to respond. * It took me several emails to get them to agree to set up a meeting to walk through our taxes. By the time we had a meeting, we were two weeks away from tax day. * This business claims to be based in Seattle, but all of the employees seem to be based elsewhere. There is no physical location in Seattle that you can visit. * The tax professional we finally met with is a college student in Michigan that I suspect they hired for the surge on tax season. We spent thousands of dollars for a 20-minute consultation with this person. * You're forced to upload all of your documents to a black box portal. You have no visibility into the documents and can't go back to see them in subsequent years. They lost our documents and we had to re-upload them. * You can't see your documents from previous years. Other services like HR Block allow you to actually log into the portal and see all of your documents. * They ask you to upload your bank account information as a word document in the portal. This neither feels safe nor reliable. After stating they received all of my information, I got an email *on tax day* saying they couldn't open the word document and to re-upload it. * We're now halfway through the day *on tax day* and have no idea if they have our account information and whether or not our taxes will get paid. * Good luck ever getting someone helpful on the line when you call them directly. Save your money, time and mental health and go with HR Block, or just use an AI. Ten minutes with Claude will get you more value than thousands of dollars and tens of back-and-forth emails with this business. read more

Terrible experience. Do not be fooled by the reviews here. I requested this company to do my taxes last season. They were initially quick to respond up until I submitted the payment. That is when the problems started. Note that my return was nothing special in terms of difficulty, just your standard personal income tax return. The big problem was no clarity on who was handling my return. My return jumped around at least 5 different accountants and none of them (except for the last one) were able to provide responses to my questions. Anytime I was looking for an update, I simply got a generic reply from administrative assistant saying the tax accountant would reply to my questions within 3-5 business days. Of course I never got a reply within that timeframe and most of the time had to nudge them multiple times via email and calls to get a reply or updates on my return. The return took so long to prepare due to their sluggish responses and internal disorganization that the tax deadline was missed and they had to file an extension. Please stay away from this company next tax season. It was nothing but headaches and having to nudge them constantly to get them to do the work I paid for them to do. read more

First, they require all of their fees to be paid in advance. Second, every time you reach out a different random person responds, often with little knowledge of what was discussed previously. They did the bare minimum without any follow up or attempt to clarify aspects that were unclear, resulting in obvious errors. They also send constant spam emails to my email account now.
