Long story short, I had never tried acupuncture before and came into my first appointment with a multitude of complaints. I had been especially struggling with eczema and anxiety. Dr. Rivera made me feel at-ease with the process of acupuncture and recommended a course of treatment. After weekly treatments for a little over 2 months, there is a night and day difference. My eczema has healed to the point where I no-longer need to use steroid creams. My anxiety levels have lowered so much that I no-longer need to have regular therapy sessions. Dr. Rivera has also helped balance my digestive system, hormones and much more. She has even recommended diet and lifestyle changes that have made such a big difference in how I feel. I feel so much more in-control of my body and I would recommend Dr. Rivera to all of my friends!

She is an excellent listener and a natural born healer. She can know what is going on with the body by hearing and feel my pulse. She is just above and beyond because she helps with everything! It's like she is a therapist in one. From the moment I met her I was like I want to be her friend and I wanted to be like her. She kind of made me want to be an Acupuncturist! She puts me in a good mood. Additionally she is able to mix herbs for various treatments. She is confident and knowledgeable and now I am sad that she is moving to Denver!

Around the twelfth treatment I was able to go once a week. Kaysie is knowledgeable, educated, easy to talk to, takes time to explain her course of action, and really wants to help you get better. I am now able to eat almost anything without acid reflux. Also, I am able to sleep at night laying down as opposed to sitting up. Kaysie is absolutely the best and has helped me about 99%. I have been to other acupuncturists, and she is a much better option for me; her knowledge of Herbs and Oriental Medicine is a perfect compliment to the acupuncture. She also treats the whole system, not just the problem area, as many issues are related to other areas or systems within the body. I would refer her to a friend in a heartbeat - and have! I am also continuing to see her for "facial rejuvenation". The results have been very impressive, and I can see a big difference. I actually get compliments all the time - " What are you doing? You look great!" This is a much safer solution than surgery, and certainly a less invasive one too. Muscles have tightened, and collagen is back doing it's job. My experience has been very positive. If you think you might benefit from acupuncture and/or herbology, give her a try!

She treated it with needles and something she called guwsha . (I'm sure I have the name wrong) My knee felt better the next day. She gave me fast relief without drugs and the side affects you would expect. Plus I didn't have to deal with a trip to the doctor's office and then a trip to Walgreens. And my treatment only took half an hour and I was back to my life. I have had treatments from her for colds, upper respiratory infections, and this spring, I had a tune up to my immune system before a trip to see the Surgeon for a hernia, just to be on the safe side. She has a great deal of expertise in Chinese Herbology. That is none drug based ways of making you well, and treating your ills using time tested natural products. Walgreens is building new store on corners lots all over the country. What kind of profit are they making on the little pills the medical industry is pushing on you? I happened upon Logan Square Acupuncture a few weeks ago when I was looking into alternatives to a…read morelong road of medical treatments for a chronic illness that's not well-understood within the western medical model. Suffice it to say it's a "female" problem. Yuck. What fun. Guess what, though? After one consultation, I was already experiencing a cognitive shift away from feeling like a disempowered sick person. After a mental and physical beat-down with fluorescent lighting, filthy seating, and endless paperwork at Rush Hospital, I already started to feel hopeful within the first ten minutes of my consultation with Kimberly. Why? Because she was asking a series of questions that made it clear she really understood the nuances of the disease and offering lifestyle tips and tricks along the way. Win #1. I've had two treatments so far, and I've already noticed huge physiological changes (not to mention the anxiety lift that goes along with knowing I've found the person, place, and things that are right for me in managing this disease). Kimberly knows what she's doing, and there's real knowledge and skill behind her confidence. So, Win #2 is that the treatments are the real deal. Finally, and this is a big deal for me, the office is soothing and exceeds even my own OCD standards of cleanliness. Simply being there lends itself to the notion of being healthy and mindful. I think this says a lot about the owner's philosophy and ability to attend to detail. (Related over-share: I actually left my OB/GYN's office with an iatrogenic UTI after my last visit, so yeah, clean offices and sterile equipment win points with me.) Side note about payment: SInce my BCBS PPO prefers women to donate their bodies to expensive adventures in surgery and synthetic endocrinology, they won't reimburse for this non-invasive thing that's actually working, but the cost of sessions is reasonable, and it's worth making it work out of pocket. Bottom line: Do it, especially if you're looking for a first encounter with acupuncture.

There was nothing intimidating about the whole process, and she made it so easy. I've recommended Kim to my mom, husband, and a few friends and they've all absolutely loved her as much as I do. Angie and Justin have changed my life…read more I've been going to Acupuncture for Balanced Wellness for years, and I can't imagine where I would be without this team. My preference is to do chiro before acupuncture, and the office is always willing to do what they can from a scheduling perspective to accommodate my request, which brings us to our first stop, Justin! Embarrassing for me, but I've cried a few times in Justin's face because of aches and pains. Justin always takes his time to listen to my physical woes, and he goes to work to get 'em out. He uses a variety of methods from heat to stim to good 'ol chiropractic adjustments- all with a smile. I definitely feel loosey-goosey and ready to get poked, which brings me to my second stop....Angie! No matter the challenge I bring into the acupuncture room, Angie is ready to meet it. Angie also uses a variety of techniques from different laying positions to stim to heat lamps. PS Angie- where can I get one of those heat lamps for my house?? I don't think there's ever been one acupuncture session where I haven't gone into a fully meditative state. The hour long session feels like it's 5 minutes, and I always wake up feeling fully refreshed. We usually end our sessions with cupping, which has been a game changer in my physical healing journey. I genuinely don't know where I would be without these two. Every time I'm in this office I reflect on how grateful I am to have this tremendous duo in my corner. If I skip a week, I can absolutely tell a difference in my body. Suffice it to say, Angie and Justin won't be getting rid of me any time soon! Angie, Justin, thank you infinitely.
