I have used Highsmith & Daughters Plumbing on several very different projects over the past few…read moreyears, and Matthew and his team have earned my trust each time. I first met Matthew when he helped a friend's father deal with numerous gas leaks in a mobile home. It was a difficult situation, but he was responsive, professional, and thorough. Later, after we moved into a home in Lancaster, I asked the company to travel from Simi Valley to help overhaul several parts of the plumbing system. The house needed a new regulator and cleanout, and an addition had been plumbed incorrectly with the hot and cold lines reversed. They also replaced an older water heater with a tankless system and rerouted portions of the gas piping as we converted more appliances and systems to electric. They handled several additional problems that demonstrated both persistence and honesty. A serious clog in the main kitchen drain line took more than two hours to break through, but they stayed with it until the line was cleared. During the home inspection, we had also been told that approximately ten feet of piping beneath the house appeared cracked and might need to be replaced. After performing a full video inspection of the plumbing system, Matthew's team determined that the marks were likely only surface scuffs and that the pipe was safe to continue using. Their willingness to give an honest assessment instead of recommending an unnecessary replacement meant a great deal to us. Most recently, they helped at a Scottish Rite commercial building where more than sixteen feet of older cast-iron drainage piping had collapsed. The affected section included multiple connections serving different drains in one of our primary bathrooms. They replaced and rerouted the damaged piping, charged a very fair price, and once again delivered quality work. It is rare to find a plumbing company equally comfortable handling mobile-home gas leaks, a major residential overhaul, difficult drain problems, video inspections, and complex commercial cast-iron drainage repairs. Highsmith & Daughters has been responsive, honest, efficient, and reliable throughout every project. I would gladly call them again and strongly recommend them.

If you're looking for a plumber, Matthew is the one!…read more My husband recently noticed that our water bill was very high...that led to discovering a leak in our main valve that connects to the meter. He called a few plumber, including Highsmith & Daughters. After talking to the office, we decided to have Matthew come out and fix it. What could have been complicated turned out to be "not so bad" given Matthew's skills. The parts were old, so we jointly called the water district for advice. Then Matthew tracked down the new parts that were needed. That happened on a Monday, by Wednesday, he was back at the house to fix the leak. Everything works great now. If you're looking for a resourceful, smart and very capable plumber (at a reasonable price), definitely give Matthew (Highsmith and Daughters) a call!

He and Tony Castaneda came back that afternoon did the clean out with 100% success. I called Best Coast Plumbing after having no luck with trying to setup a last minute faucet repair…read morefor my washer and dryer with other local plumbers and Brendan was so nice enough to squeeze me in his packed schedule. I needed the work to be done right away since I had a new washer being delivered the following day and because my faucets were so old and corroded, both the cold and hot water faucets ended up needing replacements. Brendan gave me 2 quotes which included a worst case scenario where they would have to cut through the drywall so I appreciated him for preparing me for the two possible scenarios. As it turned out, his guys showed me the issue where they had to cut through the drywall in order to remove the old faucets since the angle of the box made it difficult to remove them with a pipe wrench. In the end, they were able to replace both faucets, install a new box and even did a good job of putting the cut drywall pieces back on to so that the pipes would not be exposed. The guys were very courteous and professional and cleaned everything up once they were done. The price was comparable to other quotes I received but I chose Best Coast Plumbing because Brendan was so personable and went out of his way to accommodate my schedule. I will definitely call him again for any future plumbing work.
