I give 0 Starts. First I was a little apprehensive in the parking lot because random individuals were lurking around and just loitering around. I waited around for at least 5 minutes to get a close parking. I got in the store and picked up what I needed. I didn't choose to get my vege at the time due to the items having black slime and were obviously past their prime. I had an almost a whole cart in the end. The checkouts were closed but seen some young man checker look at me at say he was open. Wow! So I turn my cart around and proceed. I kid you not in the 5 seconds it took me to get there the checker took 2 others with carts to check out before me. He smirked and didn't care. Everyone saw what happened and the other checker laughed. What a joke! Haha. This store is notorious for bad service. My neighbor said I should have just went to Fred Meyer. She said she has had quality issues, rude behavior; especially in the deli and checkers being rude when they are even available for service. She said don't bother trying to get anyone like a manager to call you or try to fix the situation or behavior. They won't! read more

This store is the closest to my home and it is convenient but they do not have the best staff in certain departments. Mostly the deli and certain check out staff members. Every time I go to the deli the staff is rude and slow, they intentionally ignore customers and pretend like they don't see you and unless they go up to them they will not give you service. It's truly annoying mostly the ladies who work evening. This is the second time I've walked up to the counter and not been greeted and ignored. I stood there for 3 minutes as they saw me and finally I had to ask if they were open. After they helped someone else who was at the counter after me. I have no idea what time they close the counter down but regardless if they are going to be customers facing they need to be able to have customer service skills. I only stopped here because the restroom at the location I was at previously was out of order. I usually avoid this store anyways but the stuck up self-checkout employee had to make me dislike the place even more. At times I have wondered if it is difficult for this "type" to be rude to someone that they do not know whatsoever, regardless of how relentlessly polite the person is to them. 《《 (Rhetorical.) This is not a normal store for me to frequent, however, my boyfriend and I stopped in a couple of weeks ago after walking our dogs at the park down the road. We had hose guests for the weekend and wanted some steaks, fresh fruit, bakery items, wine, etc. to show them a good time during their stay. The store is pretty well organized. I'm not a fan of lanes that end halfway through land you get stuck and have to backtrack. I usually stick to the outside of the store isles, so it's not usually an issue, but we needed toothpaste. We found some steaks with great marbling for a great price. The bakery section had a beautiful selection of items and we really wanted to try several things, but settled for a blueberry custard pie. The produce section is a little crowded, making it difficult to navigate when there are other shoppers, but the produce looks great. Decent selection of wines and beers. The dairy section looks a little hidden, but once you know where to look, it's no big deal. At checkout, we opted to self-checkout. Apparently, the computer hated us. We received amazing customer service from the gentleman working the area who laughed and joked with us while helping us out. He really made a great impression. It took everything I had not to look at the plants and flowers as we were heading out. The following weekend, I headed back to the same store, because I liked it so much. Picked up another bakery item and some produce items. Unfortunately, it was when I was trying to do more grocery shopping that I realized how many items the store doesn't carry. So, if you need things from the inner isles, not so great of a selection. If you need fresh things/real food from the outer areas of the store, you're going to be all good here. As before, had excellent customer service while I was checking out at the self-checkout. The woman walked over to ask me if I'd seen the note on the register about no cash and debit/credit only. I had not, but was using debit, so it was all good. It was nice that she was checking with people to make sure despite the notes as clearly they weren't super visible. She was being proactive. I liked that. I could hear her talking to her regulars checking out who clearly adored. When the regulars love you, you're doing something right. read more

I shop here because it's the closest grocery store to where I live...and really, that's only if I can't get what I want from Saar's or Marvel. Don't get me wrong, Albertson's is a decent store. It is always clean, and the staff is always pleasant. Additionally, I have never had an issue with my produce not lasting. However, my major complaint lies in the fact that it is expensive, with prices comparable to Whole Foods on a lot of items (kombucha, Gardein products, as well as natural/organic brands such as Dave's Killer Bread, Franz, Annie's, etc.). If I want a generic shopping experience, such as that I would experience at Giant or Safeway, then I'll go shop at the commissary where I can get Gardein chicken strips for $2.99 (instead of $4.99 here). If I'm going to pay Whole Foods prices for the items I want, then, I'll just go to Whole Foods because that is far more enjoyable (IMO). As another reviewer pointed out, Albertson's is good simply for its convenience. read more

This store has 7 check stands but usually has no more than two open. Every time I come in I am in line for more then 10 minutes. Your better off going to Safeway down the street. read more

The staff at most Albertson's are usually friendly. Some more than others, some less. I still shop at all their stores in the area but usually only if I'm in the area. I don't go out of my way to go there, but did when I lived in University Place in 2005 & 2006 because they were close and a bit cheaper than Safeway. I like this store because it's right along Pacific Ave, which I drive on almost daily. It's always clean. The reason I am even writing this review is because I'm still in shock at their deli scam of pricing cold items. I went into the Spanaway store a couple days ago just to grab a quick bite to eat. I didn't feel like cooking. Figured I'd just grab a cold salad and something else. They had cold meatloaf slices for $5.99 a pound. Seemed reasonable, although I could have bought an entire HOT meatloaf at Safeway down the street for $2 more. But I only needed 2 slices. So I asked the guy (a tall, slender kid) for 2 slices. He was friendly and polite, and got my pasta salad while he was at it. The shock was when I looked at the price on the package: It said "2 for $5.98"!!! Yes, that was 2 pieces of meatloaf for $5.98! No freaking way! So I weighed them on 4 different scales right there in the produce department, only to discover they actually weighted 3/4 of a pound, NOT a pound. Heck, if I wanted to spend THAT much I would just spend another $2 and go buy an entire HOT meatloaf at Safeway! I mentioned something to the Manager on the way out at the checkout. She explained that it looked like the guy charged me $2.49 each for the 2 slices. Well, I reminded her, that is NOT what the sign says. It clearly says $5.99 per pound, NOT any price per slice! She said "Kind of misleading, huh?" to which I said "Not only misleading, but not fair to customers. We should be charged what it says on the sign. These 2 slices should have been weighed, not priced per slice!". She said she would go ask the guy about their pricing, but I highly doubt anything did or will change. Those 2 slices should have been priced at $4.50 since there was 3/4 of a pound at $5.99 per pound. That is the LAST time I will buy anything there by the slice or piece! I'll stick with their salads (until they charge per noodle). read more

I have NEVER reviewed a grocery store, but I have to say while driving through Spanaway I thought to myself how bad I needed to pick up some stuff-not wanting to drive out to steilacoom blvd. location (i live in lakewood) I stopped here. WOW- store looks nice on the inside, nice set-up, employees are extremely helpful!! I was impressed. Lakewood Albertson's has it's good points (nice staff) but the store is so OLD and UGLY. They did a remodel a few years back but pales in comparison w/ this store! read more

This was my regular grocery store for a couple years, but I kept bringing home produce that went bad in a day or two (or was already bad). I know that produce is iffy anywhere, but it's been consistent enough of an issue that I no longer shop here. That said, the staff is usually very friendly and the store is very clean, especially after a recent remodel of the whole place. If you're looking for quality produce, it's ironically down Pacific at the QFC near 512, and priced much better to boot! read more

This store is pricey. It's fairly new. The only thing I like about it is the self check out. I will drive several miles to go to Target to save 30 dollars on my groceries. Unfortunately Target doesn't have everything and Walmart I prefer not to step foot in. Albertsons is good for convenience. read more

I stopped by Albertson on Military Road in Spanaway to pick up some groceries; I spend over a $100 on only 12 items. When I cashed out the cashier did not have enough monopoly cards for the purchase I made so he told me to go see Dave at the self check-out section to get more. When I got to the self check out Dave was helping someone out so I waited until he finished. When he finished I said "excuse me" and Dave turns around and with a loud, rude, and condescending tone said "I have customers to tend to" and walks away. So I've never been a fan of Albertsons, I hate how you have to check everything out yourself and then they watch you like a hawk. Just ring me out, I like interaction. As for this place, honestly the staff was great. They were eager to point me in the right direction for my items. Hands down though was the service from the on duty police officer. What a great guy. I now stay far away from the Safeway down the road due to their hobo infestation. They wander the parking lot and sneak up on you. No thank you. So I stop in at this Albertsons and I asked the officer if he's always there at night. We talked about my concerns and he then escorts me to my car and helps me load my stuff. Seriously, you can't imagine how kind he was and it was genuine. I will gladly make this my new local grocer. Thank you to Albertsons for taking the initiative to pay for this officer's time. I used to shop at the Albersons in Tacoma before it was turned into a Haggen so now when I get my ad I will drive to this one to take advantage of the coupons. This week there was a coupon for bottled water that was really good so I had to go. I did a lot of other coupon shopping and as I was pushing my cart around there was a display of water that was the same brand right by the pharmacy so I grabbed two and went on with my day. I was in line and the cashier looked at me and hollered is that the water for the coupon, I said yes. She said I had the wrong one, the one I was looking for was in the aisle. Ok, so why on earth was there a display for this one right there but it was the wrong one, that seems so misleading, like I probably wasn't the first person to bring the wrong case up, maybe they should move that display. So I put those back where I found them and went down the aisle looking for the correct one, sure enough it was sold out. Seriously?? One thing I absolutely cannot stand is when there is a coupon for something and it is sold out and they don't offer any kind of replacement. The one I had in my cart was off by four bottles and it was cheaper. Needless to say, I ended up not buying any water. Plus I thought it was rude to just holler at me like I am some kind of cowboy on a farm.... we are all people and everyone needs to be treated with respect, hollering at customers is not very polite.
