Okay! So. I ordered Ribeyes last Tuesday evening for a pick up Wednesday morning. I got a call saying it was too early and they didn't have them out yet (which is no problem at all), and they gave me a rain check because apparently the evening before was the last day of their ribeye sale. I went in to grab the rain check (one rain check for FOUR PACKS bone in ribeye at 8.99/lb, and then TWO PACKS boneless ribeye for 7.99/lb. There was some confusion but everyone I spoke to was AMAZING. We went to pick up the ribeye today after calling and they said they had it aside for me. The manager at the front ringing us up to threatened to not honor our rain checks because they didn't make sense to her. She was arguing and raising her voice with the staff and it was a wild show. She was embarrassing the poor employees. After all said and done, she only honored the quantity of 2 on the bone in ribeye. Everyone else was amazing. The meat dept originally calling to let me know they wouldn't have it and I could have a rain check. To Bryan helping me out, and whoever I spoke to on the phone earlier today letting them know I was coming by to get them. The manager, however, is a demeaning miserable woman. Her poor employees. EVERYONE would get 5 stars, and her.... Zero. Place better management. A manager should lead by example and not treat people so horrendous. Where do I start? I went in there around 8:30. The meat selection was nonexistent. Half of the sale items were already gone. Granted, it was later in the evening, but there was nothing out. I went over to the produce section, and the new bags are absolutely horrible. I split five of them just trying to bag corn and ended up throwing the corn straight into the basket. Same thing with avocados -- they kept falling through, breaking the bag or ripping it. When I went to check out, there were no cashiers available. It was all self-checkout, and I had a full cart. I really didn't feel like playing Jenga, loading my groceries up and then unloading them back into the cart. I ended up doing more shopping, hoping someone would come back from break. When they did, it was packed and people were trying to leave. Very frustrating. I've been going there since it was Lucky Food Basket, then Vons, now Albertsons. I think I'm going to have to start going somewhere else. It's just not convenient anymore, and the upkeep is slipping. The people who work there -- the majority of them -- are incredibly nice. Pick up. What a joke. Was in the store and they had "cyber" coupons for online or pick up only. Asked why i couldn't just grab what i needed while i was there. Said it wasn't procedure. Went home. Next day decided to try it. Took 15min to figure app out. Once ordered there is a fee for under $30. Got order to $30 and ordered with credit card for pick up 2p-3p. Site said confirmation would be sent. Nothing but my credit card company saying card not present purchase. Notified after 3p that order was ready but one item out of stock (in stock on app). Drove to store and picked items up. Asked when i would get refund on card for out of stock items i was charged for. Associate gave an Im not sure answer. Went inside to check stock. None on shelf. Contacted a long time associate to ask a out refund and why app wasn't up to date. Response was "not familiar with online or pick up stuff". Good deals but very inefficient for everyone. Could have got it all when i was there the first time in person. Called albertsons complaint and got the Philippines of course. Another fun time trying to communicate. No resolution. Waste of hour and a half of my time for something that i could have done in 10 min in the store. They are getting us all trained to use AI , not think for ourselves, be lazy, and take away jobs. The level of ineptitude of the employees here is astounding! Seriously only come here for the specials . They had ribs on sale for $2.99 lb so I pu 2 racks for labor day weekend. I went to the dairy section, in Albertsons. An employee, named Andrew, ask if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for. He said it was in the deli, at the other end of the store. When my niece was recovery from Knee Replacement surgery and I wanted her and her husband to have a Thanksgiving dinner, so I called Albertsons in Spring Valley on Compo Road. Josh Colls, the very professional Manager worked overtime to make this possible! Josh is a fine example of how to ensure that Customer Service brings tasty meals to families unable to cook dinner after surgery. I went to the spring valley, campo, San Diego location tonight. The clerk was so unbelievably rude it was actually traumatizing. I went about 9:30 and was trying to make conversation with Emmanuel and asked what was short for Emmanuel...as I'm a teacher and always curious about names...purely innocent. I was met with no answer, a wierd pissed off look and then he went straight to trash under register can and threw up. No sorry, no wiping his mouth, no excuse just same dry look, no response. But the clear message of fuck you. I mentioned about being able to vomit on command as clearly he was making a statement to me that he didn't want to engage. His coworker at the other register couldn't stop laughing at the ridiculous scene. This is a sad, sad dad when the employees who work in a very low income neighborhood feel it's acceptable to mock and be rude, offensive to customers by purposely throwing up while handling my food items. This is not satisfactory in any way shape or form. He had a smug look on his face with not a word. I said have a good night. Not a word. Albertson is synonymous with quality at least in my mind. This man has no business working here or anywhere else handling food or customers. I bought a $250 gift card for a client and it didn't work. I gave my client cash and apologized. I have my receipt and card and provided it to management and filled out their form. They confirmed this has happened a lot and will process it for me. This was two months ago. They don't follow up with me and I have to stay in constant contact to get any info. I'm getting the runaround to the point of writing this review is all I got. I don't go around yelling and screaming but I bet if I did they'd wake the hell up and do what's right. ***UPDATE*** 1/14/2023 So, I was contacted by phone on Monday 1/9 @3:32PM by "Mike" who said he was the "store manager". Very nice gentleman. Very concerned with my experience with the cake. He offered me a "full" refund and another cake for free. I ordered the free cake "online" this time so that it would be on paper "exactly" what I ordered. It was to be picked up on Saturday 1/14/2023. "Mea" another manager, refunded me the original cake on 1/9/2023 @5:38PM and told me that she would put a note in the office for when I came to pick up my "free cake" on 1/14/2023. Fast forward to today, 1/14/2023 @12.11pm. I go in to pick up the cake, the bakery clerk was very nice. I get to checkstand 3 where I was told the "manager" was. I presented the cake, told the story AND presented receipts!!!! I hate to be the one to stereotype but he left me with no choice because he was NOT WEARING A NAME TAG. He was an African American man short and bald. He gave me a whole big deal about the cake, he said there was NOT a note about this issue, he had the line held up, making me look as if I was trying to steal a cake or be dishonest about getting the free cake that was approved by "the store manager named Mike"! He then proceeded to say, "well just take the cake because I don't have anyone to verify this information with". Honestly it was very embarrassing to say the least. It was suppose to have fresh strawberries and strawberry gel in the inside. We received a cake that only had fresh strawberries inside. There was no gel, no icing or anything to hold the cake together. The cake was VERY basic, no designs or anything. We found some sprinkles to sprinkle on top and 3 little designs that we had around house. When you cut into it, the cake literally fell apart and only had a few strawberries inside. I called the bakery manager "Amanda" to try and resolve this issue, but instead she told me that she had the order in front of her and it was not marked for gel so unfortunately she does NOT have the authority to issue me a refund. When I ordered the cake, the young lady repeated back to me, fresh strawberries AND gel? I said yes. I feel like as a "manager" you are suppose to make this right. Instead she didn't apologize, she only stated that she has the order in front of her and it didn't have gel marked! I will take ownership of not physically going in to order the cake, as I was working. But I also feel like you should be able to call and place an order and someone take the order correctly. I can't complain about this Albertson off SPRING VALLEY off Campo RD because every time I come here I find what I need then I end up walking out forgetting what I really wanted. But I can always walk back and I know that they have it. I'm not too sure of the gentleman who is in the butcher section but he's super nice and friendly. I've gotten bacon there the last couple days as I'm keeping it keto with my cream cheese jalapeños and some breakfast eggs muffins and I always want some fresh bacon. I come here because that gentleman is super nice and friendly. Now as far as keto I'm not practicing religiously but I've tried certain things and they're quick simple easy and I love it!!!! I rather get the jalapeños myself which I bought a little under half a pound they were $1.35 each which I had more than like eight peppers. Cream cheese $1.99. Over a pound of fresh bacon with $6.26. I don't mind paying that before because I cut them half and then I wrap them around the jalapeño stuffed with the cream cheese and put a toothpick in them. Then I use some of the bacon crush it up and then put it in my egg dish after I cook some. I'll post a pic of course ... I feel like there's no better quality than the butchers than the packed ones on the shelves. It taste better it's thicker it's just better. I guess my con about this place would sometimes be there employees. They're very authentic urban young hipish but at times that playfulness is not so professional. But I have to say out of all Albertsons this one is on and Poppin because they seem like they have a good time every time and they really enjoy what they do and they have a connection with one another. So I guess for the demographics it's right on point. To others it might be a little too much at times but in the end this Albertson and their employees got HEART. And a lot of other establishments you can't even say that. Another con save your money don't even waste it on the rosemary and garlic rotisserie chicken. Oh my gosh it was so dry have a locked in flavor. I should've stuck with the traditional because they were out of the baked chicken and I wanted to try something new.....but it's all good I chopped it up I'm gonna season it up and then I add some green sauce and make me some enchiladas out of it one day this week. I have been a customer at this location for many years. The deli department is great. The butchers are very helpful. I had some not great customer service while using the app in the produce department recently and started shopping at the next two closest locations. They were both positive experiences, except for an encounter with what must have been a new employee he hit me with his cart while returning merchandise to the shelves. No big deal... He didn't apologize. The Sweetwater store is great but is out of my way. Carts are always available, excellent customer service I would love to give this location a 5 start based on everything up til today... Unfortunately, I had issues retrieving my first online pick-up order, and it started with the app not being as user-friendly as I hoped for. I use it all the time when shopping. I highly suggest you download it, per savings on product your family likes. Unfortunately I am old and not very computer literate. I simply planned on ordering the 4th of July soda deal, buying 2, getting 3 free, and the value pack bone in ribeyes. I worked yesterday, just like the fine folks at Albertsons. I had no energy to drive a few miles to get these amazing deals. While placing my order, I received a SAVE30 promocode, as a first-time use if I spend $75.00. Wonderful and very much appreciated. Unfortunately, it did not register. I received a confirmation on my order. I replied and asked for help... Today per pick up strik ll... But it gets better. The young associate who helped me out didn't offer the best customer service. There is no need to go into negative details. Other than informing you, he did not go over the order with me, I didn't receive a hard copy of the order to check myself. He informed me he had 3 other customers waiting. He broke losses. Obviously, they were busy, and he referred me to management. He informed me that all current cashiers were management. 5 star! I believe her name is Angie, and the associate who helped me was Angel. He reconciled my issues. I will get back to him and his wonderful customer service. I could be wrong on the names. They were new faces. Manager Angie saw my concern and personally asked me to get in her line, as she heard I had some concerns with the app. She guided me through the app and met my concerns while multi-tasking with other customers and her associates. She was very professional. My original contact revisited my order. He informed me that no hard copy confirmation was available and assured me all of my order was confirmed and filled. Three 12 packs were visibly missing. He loaded my cart, that called for 5 12 packs. This is when Manager Angie and associate Angel stepped in again. Angie assured me Angel would be sure the missing sodas and tomatoes would be taken care of. Of course it was, and the discount was offered via the chat per Angies help. Thank you Angel, for the walk-through and reassuring me I will have no issues in the future, he shook my hand was off to offer wonderful customer service to his next customer on Friday, just trying to get home and feast. read more

I came by here about 6:45 in the morning to pick some Popsicles for work. Their selection was quite scarce given that they hadn't stocked the store completely yet. I was not able to get the big sticks I wanted, so I settled for some astro pops. No biggie. The store looked fairly cleaned and organized. Just moved into the area 3 weeks ago, first time at this Albertsons location. I work CRAZY hours (as I am caregiver) so I like that it closes at 11. I was there Tuesday, March 29th, and got to the check out isle at 10:50 with a cart FULL of groceries, as I felt bad it had to be done, again I work crazy hours so this was my only time. I kind of expected an attitude from the cashier because it was 10 minutes before closing, but Aaron (I believe that was his name) helped me and my boyfriend with a positive, friendly attitude and even THANKED US for helping him bag? Beware! The price on the shelf is NOT the price they charge you. Then when you mention that items are ringing up incorrectly, they treat you like a liar. I walked the cashier to the item on the shelf and pointed at the tag. I'm not mad at this store because if I need to pick something up, this seems to be the convenient jam, but otherwise, I'm not positive it is the best Albertson's. I typically like all Albertson's because they have the best pricing overall, but I think this one gets a bad wrap because it's the big beast in town like some of the other locations. The physical location is in Casa de Oro and nothing is giant in that area, if it was a major location, it wouldn't fit the locale whatsoever. But just because it isn't giant doesn't mean they offer crap. They are slightly smaller than others and have a shorter stocking timeline, but that is because they are catering to their volume. I use this location for snacks last minute and quick lunches if I'm working a longer day. They take credit card, have a private parking lot and a clean establishment overall.
