I just love H-E-B…read more This one is good. It's one of at least two that I know of in Midland, TX. My daughters laugh still when I tell them H-E-B stands for the founder's son, Howard E. Butt. "Butt," they giggle. Lest you forget, "the initials also playfully represent the store's slogan, 'Here Everything's Better'." Cute, huh? This store was mostly clean and organized. We found some good deals on meats. I mean for the times. And I love the H-E-B line. They omit lots of junk and artificial crap plus they are cheaper than the name brands. This mom is a fan! The seafood guy was funny. The cashier was nice but distracted with her phone. The most maddening scene was the parking lot on January 4, 2026.

We don't have HEB where I live, but I wish we did. The store has everything you could ever need! It…read morehas a grocery section, flower shop, a bakery, and a wide variety of non-food items like towels, candles, and so much more. The staff I interacted with was incredibly friendly, from the baker in the bakery department, to the florist who created a beautiful centerpiece for my aunt's 100th birthday. The store was spotlessly clean. The produce department is enormous, and they also carry a great selection of organic fruit. The bakery department has premade cakes and also takes special orders. They have a great selection of meats, including large packs for those with larger families or if you're hosting a large gathering. There's plenty of parking and handicap spaces near the entrance.

I really enjoy the new Market Street. When I was a teenager my favorite part of grocery shopping…read morewas getting a salad from the salad bar, but when I came to this area, none of the grocery stores had one until the new Market Street came along. All of the salad fixings are fresh and of really high quality. Also the pizza from the deli was good. They have a lot of cooked food to order at the deli which I still need to try. For less than the price of a fast food meal you can get a really good, filling, nutritious meal here and especially with the salad bar get whatever you would like to eat. There is plenty of dining seating available. The dining facility at this grocery store is much better than most restaurants for good food, getting it quick, selection, and price. As far as the grocery departments, they seem to have a better selection than the old Albertson's and the bakery-made bread was very fresh and good. They have some really neat things like a honey dispenser where you can fill your own bottle and a peanut butter grinder. They have a lot of the specialty products of the Midland HEB without the crowdedness of that store. My only negative point is that for me, the store is in kind of an inconvenient location for getting into and out of the parking lot and it is not near to where I usually am in Midland. That is not their fault though. I will make a longer trip here than to other establishments just for how good it is.

It looks like a La Fiesta that someone changed over into a La Tienda…read more.. This supermarket has it all- it specializes in Mexican stuff- tamale wraps, salsas, chiles, masas, herbas- all the stuff that a good cocina needs! The produce and chili selection was incredible. My favorite part of this grocery store was the selection of pinatas above the merchandise aisles. They had a variety from Super Mario to princesses to robots! All were awesome. They offer a bunch of fried food in the back, and pre-prepared puerco en chili colorado with mexican rice, which was smoky, earthy and delicious. The check out was easy. They didn't really have many check out clerks, but the process was speedy anyhow.

Stopped by to buy groceries today (10.24.2024)…read more Employees were friendly. Helps if you speak Spanish, but they always have English speakers to assist too. I'm perturbed for several reasons: 1) they rang up a bag of apples to be $4.79 when it was supposed to be $1.99. After quite a wait, that was price checked and changed for me. Cool. 2) got home & noticed the cilantro & the 3 limes ($1) I bought & paid for didn't make it into our bags. I need it for dinner tonight. The staff bagged our groceries for us. So frustrating because it was $1.99 for a relatively small bundle, but I wanted to support La Tienda. 3) flies everywhere! 4) dusty goods! The can of beans I bought was covered in dust as was the others. Could these last two reasons be because the two front doors were propped open? Will be a while before I come back even though I'm in this vicinity at least once per week. My 11-year-old daughter loved this store and how organized it was. She ain't paying the bills, though. Lol.
