I don't know why I thought Albertsons had closed all of their locations. Apparently they haven't. I used to like shopping at Albertsons back in the day. It has been years since I've shopped at one. The only reason I ended up here is because I was in the area for lunch and I try to do my best to be intentional about my grocery shopping by staying away from Kroger as much as possible because of their poor quality and lack of standards (I've come across too many rotten foods and I have seen numerous items on their shelves past the expiration dates- meats and eggs included). I will pay more to stay away from Kroger if I can. Well what a big mistake that was yesterday! En route to lunch, I noticed Albertsons and decided to come back around to it after lunch. Several of the shelves are empty. Several of the refrigerated sections are empty with stale water in them and signs that say "do not open". The place has a horrible smell to it and the quality of their produce was horrendous. My grocery shopping experience was a let down and I left out of there completely disgusted. I should have known better being that the parking lot was mostly empty on a Saturday afternoon. To make matters worse, I had too much water at lunch and had to use the restroom before I hit the road. OMG! This was the most disgustingly filthy public bathroom I've seen in a very long time. Filthy sink, filthy stool and filthy floors. The board of health needs to go look into this place. I drove over 20 minutes to get my husband's favorite coffee. All of the cans that were on the shelves were dented. I asked for a discount, and both managers told me they couldn't do anything. Major inconvenience. I took the coffee but when the items are damaged you should give a discount. read more

The clerks here are always friendly the few times I have stopped in. The shelves are always neat but I don't see as many managers present on the sales floor as I do at Kroger. I go to Albertson's for pretty specific product because I do most of my grocery shopping at Sprouts. The house brand turkey bacon, Signature Select, tastes better than Butterball turkey bacon in my humble opinion. Much better. I also like Albertson's because they sell Tillamook shredded cheese and Texas Tea and I don't find those items at Kroger or Sprouts and I want them. Thank you Albertson's. If you do the buy 1 get 1 Free I highly recommend that you have those scanned as a separate transaction to make sure that you really get your sale price. I have had my "sale" price ring higher twice on their meat sales. Other than that tricky business I like that they have specific items near and dear to my taste buds. read more

I as understand it, after my horrible experience in this store, I am now not allowed to shop there? I never used any offensive language nor did I act inappropriately given the situation. Albertsons has failed on this one. Never again. The fact that they would allow an employee of theirs to talk to a customer the way I was talked to and treated the way I was treated is really unbelievable. FIFO is the most basic food safety task when it comes to stocking shelves or keeping inventory. First In, First Out...meaning when putting something on the shelf to stock it, you put it behind what was already on the shelf, so that inventory get rotated. Inventory doesn't sit on the shelf and collect dust past it's expiration date. This store CONSISTENTLY over the last 10yrs has expired product on the shelves. And not the odd bottle here or there. Entire shelves of lemon curd - exp 2021. BBQ sauce - exp 2020. I received almond paste that expired in 2019 on a curbside order. Today I gave an employee an entire hand basket of chicken sauce that'd expired anywhere from May 2022 to Dec 2021. It's 2022. And it's not a quiet store, it's often busy and otherwise convenient and clean. But this FIFO issue has me questioning the inventory holding processes of the entire store. read more

This is a friendly Albertson's. I used to loathe the one in Denton, but this is a nice location. I'm not happy with the layout of Albertson's stores - you can't find what aisle you're on because of the way they have those signs hanging from the ceiling, you have to be just at the right angle to see them - but that's a corporate issue, not an issue with this store. This store has a history of being very giving to the local community - regularly giving large sums to worth organizations and local schools. The employees are warm and personable - from the folks stocking the shelves to the cashiers ringing you out. They're normal 'folk.' The store is in major need of a make-over, but ugly decor aside - they get the job done. The produce is fresh and the meat is often on sale. I enjoy shopping at this store. it is very clean and the staff is super friendly. I have to go to the Kroger for my pharmacy and I am able to compare the cleanliness and service. Albertsons is a 100% better. I have bought the wrong product in the past and the exchange/return process was very easy. I have asked for an item I was not able to find and they carry it after my request. I feel at home. Good job, Albertsons, the renovation made a great improvement. read more

I was in a hurry and Albertson's is very close to me. So I stopped off to get some French bread for this evening's dinner. Nothing else. French bread at Walmart - $1.00. French bread at Albertson's $2.49! All pricing at Albertson's is typically 20% higher than Walmart. But 150% higher? Insane. This is why I never have a problem finding a parking spot at Albertson's. It's a grocery store. This Albertson's is in dire need of updating especially given the highly trafficked downtown location. The staff seems to be friendly and prices are reasonable. One big plus about Albertson's in general is that they sell USDA Choice grade beef. Most other chain grocers sell in-house brands which are typically lesser grade than Choice. Don't believe me? You folks don't need a review of what Albertson's is like. But I do want to throw out a few observations about their seafood and meat counter. Their butchery is about as good as if I had my 6 year old nephew do it. They are just clueless and making very little effort. Also, they will allow their meat sit under the glass congealing for long periods of time. I saw a standing rib roast week after week until finally it appeared to be just about mummified. Same goes for the fish. A fish counter isn't supposed to stink to high heaven. Filling the entire back of the store with stench. The health, quality, and cleanliness standards are, in my opinion, very suspect. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced at a grocery store. Walked up to the deli counter and both ladies were deep in conversation, which is cool, I still deciding what I wanted. After a few minutes, a man walks up and they immediately take and start making his order, despite the fact that I was standing there first. I made a comment about it and one lady said to the other lady in Spanish "the white girl is mad take care of it." No thanks. Walking in right away, you can tell this is one of the older Albertsons. The deli section is very nice, and they always have wonderful deals. Not too busy at times. If you go late at night make sure to park closer to the Home Depot side because they close the one set of doors to the building. read more

I'm usually not one to write a review on groceries stores simply because they're all about the same. This is one of the few remaining Albertsons stores left and they truly are something to brag about. The produce department is great, seafood is awesome and fresh and my recent bad experience with the bakery turned great when the store manager Latoya showed me just how much she aims to please her customers. I ordered a birthday cake and upon puck up the cake was not what I had expected. Latoya gave me a full refund and a similar cake for free even offered to throw in ice cream and drinks. Lets just say that alone lets me know that she cares about her customers and her store. Keep uo the good work. You've definitely earnwd my business. read more

Asked about why I got charges 4.99 per package of food when it said 3 for 10 dollars she had a bad attitude and made us go to another side of the line when she herself was at customer service not wanting to help many people.... This place by far has the worst customer service I've seen. They seem to have lost the meaning of what accommodation means. We have now had 2 bad experiences in the last couple of days. The first was where they didn't want to help her with airing up some balloons because there was no one that could come over to the counter and help right before they opened. And the other time was just now. With only 3 lines open, 2 of them were backed up by a lot, the 3rd line was empty. The cashier was eating candy. So we went to that and asked if we could be checked out. All of a sudden we hear in a rude voice "do you have more than 15 items!?" This was from a manager or supervisor. We said if that's a problem then can you check us out? She said no. Made us so irate. Even the cashier was it's ok but the manager said not to. What happened to servicing the customer with a smile? We've been coming to this location basically all our lives and to get treated like this is just sad. We will be taking our business elsewhere! I can't wait until the new Winco opens up. I wish they would replace with a Tom Thumb or Kroger.. Produce is always molded especially berries or if it's not it will by 2 days. (Complained and they still haven't done anything about it) They are the closest store for me right across the street.... But I now drive 15 out of my way to go to Kroger or Tom Thumb. They have bad customer service, won't help take groceries out, neither will the manager. If I miss a bag (which they put them in carts) you would think they would run out to being it to you... Nope they won't you just get home without it. The hair soap all that stuff, some haven't even been touched in a long time that when you get some dust falls in your eyes or you touch it on the bottle. Check the expiration date of everything you buy! 3 times I have had to return to this store to return things that have expired. This time it made my husband sick and I was horrified to see it had expired 4 months ago! I have given feedback to the store Manager, and his manager...They don't seem to get it. Everyone is always friendly, and the selection is good. The other day we had to wait in line a bit, and were only picking up some salad and a loaf of french bread. This dirty store was finally upgraded, and I decided to start shopping there again especially for cut pineapple. On Sept. 17, 2015 sale circular had 85% ground beef & 93% ground beef at $3.99 lb. I re-checked circular at door. 93% sale started on 18th. Huge yellow sign next to smaller 1lb.+ packages of 93% "On sale today - $3.99 - Sept. 17th". Cashier rang up both at $6.99lb. Manager(7:30pm-ish) said sale started on 18th. I questioned the sign. She said it was for 85%. Then she said it was 2# packages. I had 2 packages, each priced at $5.00+. One was 85% and one 93%. Then she said she needed to pull the sign. Then she said I was 2nd customer to complain. Finally she said she would adjust price after about 15 minutes of excuses. Too late...too many discrepancies in her story. I won't be deliberately cheated and this was deliberate. I told her to keep all of my groceries...about $70.00...and I won't be returning.
