I was asked (in person) and called (afterward) several times to update my review, so here is it:…read more If you're thinking about using LASIK MD - I would ask to speak directly with the downtown location. DO NOT waste your time speaking to the individuals working in the 'call centers' (they are ones who call with vision questions and verify your appointment). As soon as I posted my original review: "Untrained staff who are unable to answer basic questions or provide solutions. Super disappointing since I had heard good things before experiencing their non-existence customer service first hand." I had a phone call within 3 hours, where I had been waiting 4 days for an answer to a simple question. I ended up visiting LASIK MD in City Centre on December 3rd, 2019. I personally dealt with Lindsey, Jesse, Victoria & Phyllis, all of which were friendly, helped explained the process and were educated to answer the questions I had. I do feel the communication is a bit slow and believe the only reason I received a call back was because of the 1-Star negative review but I will be following through with the surgery in 2020 and will update my review at that time when I've used their services.

This was a super experience. I've been to the LasikMD downtown and I always hated going because you…read morehave to pay for parking, but now they have partnered with FYI doctors and are in that building and there is free parking! That honestly makes things so much easier. They also have a keurig in their waiting area for coffee and tea, as well as a water cooler. I,also, enjoy watching the awesome sights they put on the tv. It's always some kind of scenery like mountains or ocean or animals! Makes you feel awesome when your surgery is done and you can actually see everything. I had mine done 4 years ago and I would do it again in a heart beat! Great start to the day finding out I'm 20/15 vision still!

You then wade through waves of similar brands and most stores are indistinguishable from one another. Glasses Half Full flips this on its head! The optometrist is friendly, the technology they use for eye exams is way less annoying than usual, and the brands they sell are independent and unique. The store staff make you feel comfortable and it's clear there is pride in what they do. The store features many independent brands that I hadn't heard of before. If you're more comfortable sticking with existing brands, you're better off looking elsewhere but I went in with an open mind and found myriad pairs of glasses that I honestly really liked. Their website displays that "it is [their] mission to re-envision optometry in Edmonton." While I'd normally roll my eyes at such a lofty goal, shopping here has solidified that they are indeed something special. This will be my go-to optometry stop now and I'm strangely already looking forward to the next time I need a new pair of glasses!

For patients ONLY. Did you NOT see sign on the door! ". wow. we all miss things...and this was at 8:00am in the morning. I found the Doctor Hennig very knowledgeable, willing to take time to answer all questions and he was very forth right and straight. He clearly explained the risks of Cataract surgery as well as the three options for anastisia. He operates out of the Royal Alec in their specialised Ophthalmology unit. The staff there were also friendly, very helpful and very good at what they do. I was in an out in about 2 hours and the results so far, 4 days post surgery, are just great. Even with just local freezing you can't see anything that is happening, just a real brite white light on the eye they are working on and your other one is covered. There is no pain and I have had zero post op discomfort. I have 20-30 vision in my left eye now, first time since I was 4 that I have not needed glasses for distance vision. Once the right eye is done I will need glasses for reading but all in that is a good trade off. I was VERY worried about being operated on. At over 60 years of age I had never been in a hospital for anything and this is the first time ever seeing a Doctor for any procedure. He put me at ease and did a good job. Have now had the right eye done too and it went just as smoothly as the left eye. Overall a great experience with this Doctor. I would recommend this doctor highly.

Can you out a price on waking up with perfect vision? Well, yes for all of those folks who rely on…read moreglasses to be able to function you can and really it is worth every penny. I started my glasses free journey the end of 2020 by looking for a place where not only would I be able to just live life glasses free (in case of a zombie apocalypse who wants to be fumbling for glasses) but also a place that made the experience comfortable. Looking through reviews and asking around with friends and family who have had the procedure done, I settled on King Lasik because you were also able to book your appointment online. I went in for my first appointment in December which was a consultation where they checked your eyes and went over what the surgey day was like as well as costs, and it all went really well. The optometrist was really awesome and every step of the way I felt that I was in good hands. Pro tip if you can for the love of all things please have someone drive you home after this appointment due to the dialation that they need to do. I was given a appointment date for early January which was quite quick considering the covid restrictions. When the day came, you are to be dropped off and picked up, I was nervous but of course excited to that it would be the last day of my blurry vision. The process was a little hurry up and wait. There were quite a few people in the room and you have paper work, a few tests, you pay get your after care kit and instruction, get the optional Ativan, another wait and then you are in the procedure. That part is the quickest and then you go into recovery and are sent home to hopefully sleep. The procedure was for me just a bit weird. Like you are in a laser show. But really other than pressure painless. The after part, the first day you are sleeping and keeping your eyes closed but after that and you take off the little taped cups and see clearly, it is all worth it. It is really pretty remarkable to be able to see within 24 hours of the surgery. (Note this is my experience based on the classic laser eye surgery and not the Other custom one they do!) So thank you to the staff at King Lasik for giving me my vision and just being great!

The road to recovery is excellent being able to read the fine print on my cell phone after 48 hours. The quality of vision is excellent! Goodbye glasses since the second grade!
