In fact, he provided me with more information that any other optometrist or ophthalmologist I've seen in the past. I had an initial exam, then scheduled another exam the following week to have my pupils dilated for a better look. I'm trying to find out if my "floater" is a big deal. Everything turned out ok. My Rx for progressive lenses was bumped up a little bit. I found a few beautiful frames and narrowed it down to Prada. There are many gorgeous designer frames. Dr. Tu helped me choose some. He claims to be very fashion conscious as well. :) I'm impressed that he also took the time to explain all the lens options. He took my measurements. I used my Yelp! discount and he upgraded my lenses with no extra charge. It took 7 business days for my glasses to be ready. He adjusted them for perfect fit and offered me 50% off an additional pair within 3 months. I might consider sunglasses . He can direct bill the insurance companies.

Although the doctor and the staff was nice; They clearly weren't aware of how Canada Life works. As a result of that, They made us wait more than we should just to place the orders (because they didn't know how to take the money from Canada Life). They then figured it out and sent the sunglasses to the laboratory to put in the lenses with prescription. We waited until it was the end of August because they told us that they were going to inform us whenever the sunglasses arrive. After waiting for almost 2 months, We realized something was wrong because the sunglasses wouldn't arrive for some reason. We then called them and said "We got them in July and we've been waiting for almost 2 months now and the summer is coming to an end but we still haven't received any feedback from you. We bought those for summer but now they are pretty much useless and we don't have anytime to wear them". After reminding them the orders we placed, We realized that they didn't even question the laboratory for taking this long and clearly forgot about their customers and their fulfillment. After a few hours, They called us back and said that the laboratory has lost the glasses and was looking for them for days. Not only they made us wait for 2 months; They also lost the glasses and didn't realize the amount of time it took to prepare the orders and call the laboratory and say "We haven't heard back from you, Is everything okay with the orders?". Finally, We received 1 sunglasses with polarized + with prescription lenses and one without the change in lenses. They then refunded the money to us as a result of not finding the 3rd sunglasses. I wouldn't recommend Precision Eyecare to anyone because even though They are nice, They don't think about customers wants, fulfillment or happiness. (+ They don't know how Canada Life works).

The COVID19 prevention measures were well followed including calling ahead at arrival, hand sanitizer use, and hand washing before appointments as well as mask wearing. The optometrist was great and explained the images they took of our eyes and what they were testing for throughout the appointments. I liked how quickly they were able to process insurance paperwork and was happy to be fitted for and pick out glasses. They have good inventory of styles and brands. I was quite happy with their sales on eyewear also. I am so happy that Yelp helped me choose this new clinic for our family.

Upon my second visit it looked as though he was running quite behind (over 30 mins so far... I'm actually sitting in the waiting area as I type this) while it would have been nice to be told about his running behind so I could let work know that I will be late, I can understand why this happens. I was super anxious about the experience, because medical/dental visits generally make me uncomfortable, and also because I had no idea what to expect with an eye exam. I was able to book an appointment after work very easily, and I got a phone reminder the day before my appointment. Dr. Khan is personable and put me at ease right away. What other reviewers have said is true, he does talk a lot, but I liked this, since it made the appointment move along quicker, and made me more relaxed. I found the exam to be a fairly straightforward experience, and enjoyed how clean and bright the shop/office is. Windermere Eye Centre does sell glasses as well, and I browsed them for a few minutes after my appointment, but I was too overwhelmed to pick something without having someone like my husband there to help. I did find that their selection of frames was a bit limited, and to me it seemed it was just the same style (square black or brown plastic) over and over again offered by different designers. I haven't ordered glasses yet, but am going to look at a few other places to make sure I'm 100% comfortable with whatever style I pick. Overall this was a really good experience and I'm glad I picked Dr. Khan and the Windermere Eye Centre.

At the time, I informed both the front desk…read moreattendant and the doctor that gave the examination that my sole reason for attending was that I had noticed my contact lens prescription was inadequate and needed to be updated. While both were very courteous and helpful, the entire reason for my visit apparently escaped them in spite of the fact that the front desk attendant provided me with a case to remove my contact lenses and the doctor provided me with sample lenses and did an examination to ensure they fit properly. Later, I phoned to request a copy of my prescription, and was very handily provided a prescription that states explicitly that it is not valid for contact lenses. When I phoned back to inquire, I was advised that I was not charged for a fitting and so I could not be provided with a prescription for contact lenses (this in spite of the fact that I was in fact given a contact lens fitting.) I was further informed that in order to obtain a contact lens prescription, I would have to book another appointment and pay an additional $40.00 over and above the $95.00 I had paid. No apologies were offered for any inconvenience or for being blindsided with an additional $40.00 fee only after I had paid. It was only after an E-mail exchange that I was able to convince them to release a prescription to me, since the front line staff were more or less unsympathetic to my frustration. Admittedly, had this not occurred, my experience would have been positive, as the staff were friendly and the service was prompt.

I mentioned that Alberta Health should fully cover their annual eye exams, but the receptionist couldn't provide an answer and forwarded me to the manager, Matthew. Matthew explained that the additional charge was due to a change in Alberta Health's coverage. I was skeptical, so I called other eye care centers nearby to ask if any additional fees applied. The eye care center told me that as long as the exam is done once a year, it's fully covered by Alberta Health. I called Matthew back and shared what I had learned. His office/location had simply decided to charge an extra fee. If they want to add a fee, that's their choice, but they shouldn't mislead patients by claiming that Alberta Health changed its coverage because if that were the case, all eye care centers would be charging patients for the portion not covered by Alberta Health. So, I booked my children's annual eye exam at a different eye care center, which Alberta Health fully covers. Businesses should be upfront about their fees instead of misleading customers. Trust is built on transparency; patients deserve to know the truth rather than being misled into unnecessary charges.

I started my glasses free journey the end of 2020 by looking for a place where not only would I be able to just live life glasses free (in case of a zombie apocalypse who wants to be fumbling for glasses) but also a place that made the experience comfortable. Looking through reviews and asking around with friends and family who have had the procedure done, I settled on King Lasik because you were also able to book your appointment online. I went in for my first appointment in December which was a consultation where they checked your eyes and went over what the surgey day was like as well as costs, and it all went really well. The optometrist was really awesome and every step of the way I felt that I was in good hands. Pro tip if you can for the love of all things please have someone drive you home after this appointment due to the dialation that they need to do. I was given a appointment date for early January which was quite quick considering the covid restrictions. When the day came, you are to be dropped off and picked up, I was nervous but of course excited to that it would be the last day of my blurry vision. The process was a little hurry up and wait. There were quite a few people in the room and you have paper work, a few tests, you pay get your after care kit and instruction, get the optional Ativan, another wait and then you are in the procedure. That part is the quickest and then you go into recovery and are sent home to hopefully sleep. The procedure was for me just a bit weird. Like you are in a laser show. But really other than pressure painless. The after part, the first day you are sleeping and keeping your eyes closed but after that and you take off the little taped cups and see clearly, it is all worth it. It is really pretty remarkable to be able to see within 24 hours of the surgery. (Note this is my experience based on the classic laser eye surgery and not the Other custom one they do!) So thank you to the staff at King Lasik for giving me my vision and just being great!
