My prescription had changed quite drastically so I wanted to get my new glasses ASAP. I had looked on their website ahead of time and saw that they offer 24hr service on many prescriptions. I walked in and was greeted by a young girl right away. The first thing I did was show her my prescription and ask if they would be qualified for the 24hr service. She said "Oh ya for sure, this is a pretty standard prescription." Great! I then proceeded to spend probably half an hour picking out glasses and trying them on. When I finally narrowed it down to two styles, I was directed to someone else more senior who would be able to measure my head and all of that good stuff. During that process, I again asked when they might be ready. Not until then, 40 minutes later, was I told that they were an odd prescription, would have to be special order and would take at least seven business days. Great, thanks. I'm not disagreeing with this policy or my wacky prescription at all. But I was supremely disappointed that I had spent all of that time there on the premise that I could get my glasses right away. If I would have known that they would take that long anyways, I would have shopped around at a few different stores to look at even more styles. Both of the staff members were friendly, but I would certainly hope and expect that any and all staff working at a store related to something medical would be knowledgeable about what they are selling. If you work at a glasses store, you should be able to read a prescription, no?

I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment, and they were able to get me in and out before my actual start time. I felt like Dr McKenzie was pretty thorough, although I still felt a little bit rushed and like I didn't have a chance to ask my usual giant pile of question that I have for basically any health care professional that I see. Still, I was pretty satisfied, and I will likely go back here again in a year.

My Appointment was booked for 12:30 for a regular eye test and I was there about 11:30 as I wasn't sure if there was insurance forms etc that take forever to do, and there wasn't. It was well paced and only cost $80.00 which I think is fairly reasonable. I didn't see Dr. McKenzie but I did see Dr. Tsen. The appointment starts with some pretty interesting eye-testing games (I wondered why my previous optometrist didn't do any of this). The receptionist will run you through 3 of these games and they are fairly quick then afterward you wait a whole 2 seconds to see the optometrist and he begins with some preliminary questions then does the regular eye exam. I found Dr. Tsen to be relaxed and comfortable which helps you if you're nervous about an eye test. In the preliminary questions I explained to him that I have poor depth perception that occurred after I had gotten the pair of glasses I was wearing. So he did a test and it turns out I have really poor depth perception lol. I hope it is the glasses due to them not having an anti-reflective coating or perhaps how they made them but that will be something for me to discover in the future. Great place to go :)

It's a small practice but everything in there looks new and modern. The receptionists are very helpful and knowledgable especially about contact lens questions. The eye exam was thorough and the doctor was hilarious. We had a right good laugh about how blind I am...but now I can see when I'm driving. YAY! Convenient location inside Kingsway Mall and right next door to Pearl Vision. Handy if you need new specs. Contacts are reasonably priced and the chat is good :)

Prior to…read morebooking an appointment, I did some online research and Stonewire had their price listed as $90, for an adult eye exam. Being the cheapest price that I could find, I booked the next available appointment. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was charged $114 for an exam - a price that I was not expecting to pay. That $24 difference is a huge deal to me, as a mother struggling to make ends meet. I advised the staff of the situation and even showed them the website that quoted the $90 fee - I was still charged $114. As someone who works in the customer service industry, I feel very misled about the price I paid for my exam. I feel they should have honoured the price advertised online. The website has now been changed, to reflect the $114 fee for an adult eye exam. The exam itself went great and I have no complaints about the optometrist. I will not be returning to Stonewire Optometry. After receiving my prescription and being told that I would have to wait a minimum of 2 weeks to get my glasses, from Pearl Vision, I went to LensCrafters. Not only did LensCrafters listen to my rant about Stonewire, they quoted me $100 for an eye exam, gave me a cheaper deal on my glasses (by $40) AND I was able to get my glasses that evening. Sorry Stonewire, LensCrafters has won me over, ten fold. Oh! And they also apologized to me, on behalf of Stonewire, for being charged more than what was quoted online. The receptionist saw to me as quickly as she could. There were a few people who tried for walk-in appointments, so she had to politely deal with them first. The preliminary tests were all explained to me very clearly, but still done very quickly. When it was finally my turn to meet Dr. Ngo, she introduced herself and warmly welcomed me to the clinic, after apologizing for the wait. Again, each part of the exam was more thoroughly explained than at any other point in my 15+ years of wearing eyeglasses. Upon completion, she reviewed all of my results with me and asked more than once with I had any questions or needed any clarification. At no point did I feel patronized, but wholly reassured by my choice in optometrist. Plus, bonus points for accepting online bookings!

Just the right amount of small talk and smiling, and explained everything I needed to know in a way that I could understand, and even gave me a little bit of extra insight. Dr. McKenzie is usually quite good as well. All of the equipment seems newer, clean and in good working order. The receptionists are quite nice, too. My last appointment was at 10am and I didn't have to wait. However, I've been there in the past for afternoon appointment and have had to wait a little while. Try for the morning appointments if you can as they open at 9am. They also accept walk-ins. The cost of the eye exam is $90, which is pretty high.

Emily set up an appointment for Nov. 12/24 at 10:15 a.m. to pick up the new glasses. The young lady we dealt with displayed very poor customer service and we were made to feel we were a bother. She walked over to the drawers, took out my glasses and walked back to us, put the glasses on the table and sat down. I picked up one pair and put them on, then the second pair (sunglasses). She said "OK?" I commented about adjustment to ensure proper fit and she said "I adjusted them over there (motioning to where the drawers were. Not true, she wasn't there long enough to do anything but grab the glasses). She was dismissive so I figured I will return if a fit adjustment is necessary and get someone different to help me. I had to ask her for cases for the glasses which she reluctantly got for me, put them on the table, again with a dismissive attitude. I don't recall if she had a name tag on but I haven't seen here in this store prior to yesterday. In hindsight I should have asked for her business card or at least made a note of her name. We have been going to this location for many years and have always had exceptional service. We will go back again but will definitely not deal with this young lady! Very disappointed with very poor customer service! Sorry to say she doesn't get any stars. D. Isabelle

I was in need of a new pair of glasses and needed an optical exam for an updated prescription. When I arrived it was explained to me I would be able to get my eye glass prescription, but she was not an optometrist and could not test for any medical issues with my eyes. Also that if I purchased glasses from her, the exam would be free. I was fine with this. I simply wanted an updated prescription. When the exam was complete the optician escorted me to the glasses and attempted to pressure me into purchasing glasses on the spot. I did try some frames on, however I was unimpressed by the tiny selection and simply wanted my prescription. It was at this point that the optician refused to give me my prescription and told me this was the policy. "She did things differently" If I would have known this was the so called "policy" upfront, I would not have wasted my time. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME. Seek a professional optometrist with a good reputation. **This location is also a dental clinic. If the dental operates anything like the optical, I won't have dental work done there either.**
