Apparently this is the oldest bridge in Adelaide, or at least this is what I heard when I went for a tour around the River Torrens. However, while it certainly does get its use, it is also a little out of the way, and there are more direct ways to get into the city these days. The bridge itself is rather nice, though it certainly isn't all that large, considering that the River Torrens is little more than an oversized creek (though I wouldn't try jumping over it at this particular point, unless you happen to be a champion long jumper, and even then I doubt you'd be able to get a decent run up either). It's also next to the zoo, so if you happen to be heading there, it is a short walk to check out this rather old bridge. read more
