He set up an appt for us with a guy named Rusty & while he was saying nice things about him like his qualifications, Rusty happened to be passing by & instead of introducing himself since the other guy had mentioned "oh, this is actually who I set your appt with", he walked right in between us & went straight to his desk without a smile or acknowledgment. Our builder had given us 2 choices to pick our light fixtures from to be put in our home that's being built but all it takes is one bad experience of customer service to deter us, so it looks like we'll be going with the other company instead.

In other words you have to order WAY IN ADVANCE! I needed valves that go in the wall behind showers and baths ASAP so the plumbers could install them before the walls were gypcreted and tiled. Mr. N we need these ASAP we have to pressure test your system ... I ordered the faucets the rain heads and shower bars but ooohhh didn't know I needed rough-in valves (basically the gut of the temperature hot cold control for your shower). Okay ... I don't have 60 days I need them in 5 ... plumber said call Ferguson. Kristy pulled 2 from Wasilla, had one in town and 2 at their distribution center in Seattle. Boom ordered shipped and got them and needed parts for our standing jetted tub too. Who knew there were so many pieces to plumbing. The Plumbers day was saved! This week was nuts. I had to literally track down 5 parts I missed. So today I picked up a valve I made a mistake on, and I had 2 trim valve kits shipped to my new home address when they found them in California. Kohler Customer Service in Wisconsin - I have their number saved. They helped track down what was available which I ordered in Anchorage. Plumbers are back Friday ... I have all their parts again ready. Plumbers vans and trucks are outside at Will Call all the time - they get contractor discounts. Hmmm ... Hint Hint! Yeah, if you have the 60 days to get it in you can be stress less. BUT - if you can't close on your house till they're in ... oh yeah they can hook you up they can search!

The socially detached, un empathetic jack-a$$ millenial immediately sighed a long sigh, and threw out half of my receipts because they were past the 60 days allowed, citing policy. The rest of the items, i purchased less than a week ago. Strange, the Sales clerk to my right kept looking over uncomfortably, as HE KNEW, THAT I KNEW THAT HE KNEW, that i had just purchased them. Way to go! Thank god, where i work, i am allowed to deviate from company policy to take care of my customers, who ultimately pay my income. They have a Showroom at 6th Ave. and another off Old Seward closer to Dimond. I call Dave and he tells me what to get and tells me what's available and the model type. All their people know their stuff. I bought these cool Alexa/Google voice activated light switches for every room and bathrooms. They can control up to 29 lights on one switch so like our bedroom lights that have like 11 on one switch is no problem. Lutron Caseta Wireless Smart Dimmers. 'Alexa, turn down the bedroom lights to 15%". Yeah, a little pricy but worth it! The house we're building is 100% all LED. We figured out the lighting we needed from our architect then we sourced about 75% of our lighting needs here. They don't carry everything but they carry a lot and some things have to be ordered. This time I needed 100 Watt LEDs equivalent to standard size bulb (they call that a A19 bulb type). Usually for a standard LED bulb I go to Lowes or Home Depot. But the higher Watt Bulbs 75 and 100 Watt Equivalents there are a oversized LED bulb. Trying to put them in our new Island Pendants - uh too big -- I need the Lumens to be at a minimum 810 -- Architect thing -- Lowes and Home Depot Oversized Only ... ARRRGH! Called Browns and got the answer I needed and at the equivalent prices that would have been at Lowes or Home Depot ... the advantage at Brown's -- Selection and ability to order to your specific needs. I went by the store off Old Seward and grabbed them.

Contacted ICD, they sent a team to troubleshoot, which I appreciated, but they also didn't complete the fix. The next day we lost all internet and TV. But ICD sent us a bill for $213.75 for the "troubleshooting" that didn't work: We went and bought a new router (same model) and found another installer who replaced it for us over the weekend. At this point *we are out $817.99 for a functional router.* We returned the $248 router to ICD, but they never refunded us. It's unthinkable ICD is making us pay for their labor to fix a defective router ICD sold us that we had to replace and install at our own cost.
