My former and current landlords BOTH forgot to tell me that I needed a permit to park a moving truck. Then they BOTH forgot to tell me other tenants from each building were also moving out. The move took longer than it should have because the elevator had to be shared with other movers lugging stuff. Moving Checklist: These are mostly things no one told I had to prepare for so here you go. You're welcome. -Parking Permits: Most big cities required it now. Depending on what permit type you need, you might be given special "No Parking" signs with the day and time of your move for you to post on the street. Do it, because moving truck parking tickets are paid by the people moving, not the moving company. I moved from Mid-Wilshire area to Pasadena -Check with your landlord to be sure no one else is moving on the same day as you. If someone else is moving that day, be sure you coordinate so as to not slow each other down with the elevator. -No trucks are allowed on the 110 North...I didn't know this and called my movers ahead of time so they could re-route. The gentlemen who delivered my fridge told me tickets for violations are upwards of $1,000. -Don't buy boxes. Check Craigslist, grocery stores or other businesses for free boxes. I packed a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom and last year I moved a whole medical practice and didn't buy a single box.

I will say they have very nice and professional people on the phone, fair prices, and generally good about the move, but you really have to keep them honest and track absolutely everything yourself. If one of the movers breaks a table, you have to call the main office RIGHT AWAY. If they agree they'll move your piano and charge you for piano handling services, then no one shows up that can handle the piano and almost drop it off the back of a truck, while the movers are still there you have to call and raise a stink or it'll be your word against theirs. These things happened to me.

I used to play years ago since I was 5 till about 13 and when I pick it back up every time it's takes a little bit to get back into the movements and boom I'm playing, now by ear, again. Time to reignite the musical fires burning inside. So Petr asked what quality string I wanted good or better? We agreeing went for better strings. I got an extra E string sometimes I like to over stretch the string tuning and sometimes pop it better safe than sorry. Just looking at the place loads of instruments, acoustic guitars, violins, cellos, bows, strings, sheet music, stands you name it I saw cool Gator skin guitar straps and even a work bench for repairs. He rents out for students too and yeah, I can tell he's got a musical touch and my sense from him and the shop is that his place is 'The go to' for all your strings needs! Check it out!
