We are currently renting a violin and it cost $35/mo with insurance and free Saturday lessons. I don't usually do rent to own but kid's interest is difficult to predict. For example, today we are here to get a bigger size violin. If they out grow the instrument then you can get an upgrade to a larger size for same price. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Cut to Christmas when I open it and find out it has a buzzing fret, no big deal they will fix it, or so I thought. Brought it to them only to find out they no longer employ a guitar tech and haven't for weeks! They won't exchange it for the exact same model and color they have on the wall because it was purchased using a coupon from their Christmas Sale and the prices are different! The Fender warranty still applies and guess who Fender states I have to take it to for Repairs? The Authorized repair center at the only Guitar Center in town. Only they can't fix it. On top of this the extended warranty we purchased only applies to manufactures defects after the manufacturer warranty expires in two years. Was excited about guitar Center being in Anchorage, even brought my brother there to buy a bass and an amp two days ago. I can't explain how frustrated I am with this situation. UPDATE- I was able to come in during the manager's hours. He apologized for the situation and had no problem making me whole. This made my day and salvaged a relationship.
