The day of my appointment I got called twice within two minutes of each other. Second thing is I Went in for a teeth cleaning and got told I needed different fillings cuz apparently my fillings were too big for my teeth (never an issue before) and got told I needed crowns and a root canal. After they did my X-rays the doctor looked at my teeth they told me that I needed the deep clean cuz of the way my teeth were and my gums were not healthy. Once again this has never been an issue before. The initial process they wanted to do was 5,000 that I would have to pay out of pocket. I said I didn't want to do that cuz I don't have that money to spend on dental work that doesn't need to be done. Then with the deep cleaning it was 335 that would be paid out of pocket. When I told them I wanted a basic cleaning I got told no and they refused to do it cuz it wouldn't help my teeth and gums get better. After awhile I said I would do one section of my mouth and be done. They had two different people come talk to to convince me I needed the deep clean and even the dentist lady tried to say the same thing. I was there for over an hour and a half from start to the time I left. Overall if I could give this place a 0 star I would. The place is shady and doesn't deserve business.

I guess because he thought the numbing gel was suppose to numb things he could stick the needle in and move it in any direction he wanted to. When doing a cleaning his tool caught my lip and was pinching it against my tooth i tried to move my lip and he got angry. When he pulled my tooth he was yanking and hit my front tooth. That front tooth cost me a lot of money. Its a cap and it hurt so i touched it to make sure it was ok and the doctor got very curt telling me to put my hands down and do not raise them again. I was thinking," your right I raise them again I'm going to jail. You think you can talk to me like that and treat me this way?" The next tooth he pulled he didnt try to yank he added slow pressure like they are taught to do. Too bad he did not remember with the first one. Its wierd how hard they were to pull when he said they were severely infected and unsavable. My body seemed to disagree. Its ok i wanted one of them pulled anyway but lying is a huge peeve of mine. I dont understand why he would do it and why he thought I would not know. Was it because we were in mountain view? His staff looked freaked out a little when I told them I am a vetran and i would be running any prescriptions by the VA pharmacy. Turns out the VA will not fill it since dentist are not covered by the VA community care but still I am letting the VA know. That was just wierd. She actually has a support system you do not mess with. I guess if you treated everyone the same your staff would not freeze and get bug eyed when they find out I'm educated and not on welfare. Them doing everything in one visit and the staff is why it gets 4 stars. The assistant running the vac I think was in training too. Everything seemed an oh yah moment for her but thats ok. I dont mind training with me. Not having to make a different visit for everything is what would make me recommend it. Plus i am told other people were making visits in Wasilla because none were available in town and BTY was willing to get me in the very same day. Sometimes you sacrifice bedside manner to get what you want when you need it.

They were so patient and kind. They made it easy to get hard work done. I recommend for families…read moreand individuals.

Ok, this is going to be a lengthy review! Sit tight…read more I left another practice in Anchorage because of miscommunication. I do not hide the fact that I am not a fan of dentist offices. What helps me with my anxiety is trust. I like to see the same person again and again. So, a little mix-up at previous office has caused me to no longer feel confident about the dentist. I figured I should empower myself to find an office that I can learn to trust practitioners again. Libby Group didn't have that much of review and that was my first doubt. But I am so happy to trust my instincts and some friends' word of mouth. I went for it and made an appointment. First, the office is really very cozy! They are not fancy with the TV and being able to watch Netflix while getting your teeth cleaned (like my previous office) but I have found that establishing trust and good relationship with my dentist to be much more important eventually! The office also has AMAZING view of mountains, OH MY! I thought that my first appointment would be an hour or less...WRONG! I filled out a very comprehensive personality traits questionnaire then was schooled very clearly about my oral health after examinations. They used a tiny camera to take pictures of my teeth and an iPad to explain what work needs to be done on that particular molars. I have never learned so much about my own oral health in one sitting. Enough to want to do better for myself. Dr. Libby is a tall, friendly, and warm lad that I have come to slowly trust. He openly admit that he will not be perfect but he will always try his best and that is enough. I asked them to keep the same people: assistant, hygienist, and doctor whenever I come in. They are happy to oblige to that. I have been there for three separate visits. Lastly, my few favorite things about the office: cool outdoorsy swags you get after your visit, not having to sit for long time in the lobby which makes my anxiety much worse, and staff greeting me in sign language whenever I come in! FYI: I currently see Nikki for my cleanings (this chick is awesome! I feel like she's on my team to help me have healthier gums) Dr. Libby as my DDS, and my all time favorite assistant Kristen who is an angel FYI. (She held my hand when I got a huge shot in my mouth)

Plus they are always smiling with their gorgeous, perfectly straight white teeth. And I've never seen a more dazzling array of the latest electronic dental equipment anywhere. Steph, especially, took her time, never seemed to rush, and explained everything she was doing as she did it. Doc Nordstrom is what a patient wants in someone working in our mouths. I unfortunately needed it…read moreand was sent over today by my dentist's office because they were concerned they would be unable to successfully complete a complicated extraction. Dr. Nordstrom and his staff were very nice. The office is beautiful. My experience here was similar to experiences that I have had at other oral surgeons. They expected some payment upfront, gave me an estimate- all standard stuff. It wasnt cheap, but in my experience oral surgery never is. The surgery went as expected, I was reasonably comfortable, but not without some discomfort, but I chose to be awake because sedation would have been much more expensive, so again, this was to be expected. When the doctor sensed I had reached my pain threshold he paused and added additional pain medication which in appreciated. In the past I've had some doctors not do that. The reason for 4 stars and not 5? 2 reasons. One the main gal in the lobby was somewhat off-putting. She talked a mile a minute and it was very hard to follow her directions. 2nd, they didnt ask me or offer any kind of payment plan, so I dont know if that was any option. My bill was enormous. If i hadn't had an FSA, I would have been screwed.
