Their not lying. I was greeted by a very friendly staff, as well as care providers. None of which where bad on the eyes either. Anyways, Dr. Cha was quick, easy, no anxiety, and painless. All opposite of my past interactions with other dentists. My dental insurance hadn't kicked in yet, so it was out of pocket but even so, it was very reasonably priced! The building was extremely clean and nicely decorated, it didn't feel like a Dentists office but a very nice lounge almost. Best way I can think to describe it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone, and this is coming from a guy with a phobia of Dentists!

I had a chipped tooth that needed fixing. After getting me in pretty quick, they proposed a $9,000 work plan for the tooth and other things. I said I couldn't afford that, and their office guy just told me to put what I couldn't afford on my card. Which would have been over 7500. I said I didn't have that kind of money, and they asked me what I could afford. I said I could pay a few hundred today, so they proposed another plan that magically just included fixing the tooth that was within my budget. So why start with over $9,000 worth of work outside fixing my tooth? Then came the work. Everything past the front desk is extremely antiquated, in disrepair and appears shabby and in unclean condition. None of the are private, they're all open and you can hear everyone crying in pain in each room, it's very unsettling. The tools looked ancient and not completely clean, I should have left then but I had already agreed to their egregious payment plan through Cherry (which is borderline predatory in their own practice), so i felt obligated to stay and get the work done. The dentist was kind of nice at first, but very quickly lost patience once i described i had laryngospasm, which they didn't know what that was. He was not understanding when I needed to take breaks because my jaw and mouth were getting so tired from work. Then, he started shaving down the tooth next to my chipped tooth while I was numbed, and said, "Since we have a little money left over from covering this tooth, ill just shave this one down too." Why are you working on this tooth? After capping the broken tooth I could feel sensitivity in the tooth next to it, and I could tell they knew about it and did this on purpose. They knowingly caused more damage to another tooth so I would come back. They're also quite pushy at times when it is not necessary, and in my experience, did not care if you were hurting or uncomfortable; just gotta get through this work as quick as possible.

I guess because he thought the numbing gel was suppose to numb things he could stick the needle in and move it in any direction he wanted to. When doing a cleaning his tool caught my lip and was pinching it against my tooth i tried to move my lip and he got angry. When he pulled my tooth he was yanking and hit my front tooth. That front tooth cost me a lot of money. Its a cap and it hurt so i touched it to make sure it was ok and the doctor got very curt telling me to put my hands down and do not raise them again. I was thinking," your right I raise them again I'm going to jail. You think you can talk to me like that and treat me this way?" The next tooth he pulled he didnt try to yank he added slow pressure like they are taught to do. Too bad he did not remember with the first one. Its wierd how hard they were to pull when he said they were severely infected and unsavable. My body seemed to disagree. Its ok i wanted one of them pulled anyway but lying is a huge peeve of mine. I dont understand why he would do it and why he thought I would not know. Was it because we were in mountain view? His staff looked freaked out a little when I told them I am a vetran and i would be running any prescriptions by the VA pharmacy. Turns out the VA will not fill it since dentist are not covered by the VA community care but still I am letting the VA know. That was just wierd. She actually has a support system you do not mess with. I guess if you treated everyone the same your staff would not freeze and get bug eyed when they find out I'm educated and not on welfare. Them doing everything in one visit and the staff is why it gets 4 stars. The assistant running the vac I think was in training too. Everything seemed an oh yah moment for her but thats ok. I dont mind training with me. Not having to make a different visit for everything is what would make me recommend it. Plus i am told other people were making visits in Wasilla because none were available in town and BTY was willing to get me in the very same day. Sometimes you sacrifice bedside manner to get what you want when you need it.

The staff was very friendly, the office is very well maintained. The front desk receptionists have great phone etiquette. They even offer several freebies while you are waiting - paraffin hand wax, neck wrap, and a list of more I cannot remember. They accept military insurance which is a plus! They also have a refer a friend program, with the referred friends first visit you both receive a $25 credit or gift card! Which is a wonderful added bonus. I have yet to visit this dentist office where I wasn't completely satisfied with the services offered!

That was super odd especially for a first time patient. I have pretty good teeth and not many concerns but he spent the least amount of time with me. The hygienist Holly is kinda young and quite the chatterbox. I'm not sure she took many breaths. I've never had anyone take 1 full hour to clean my teeth. As you can see I have pretty good teeth. I think if she didn't talk as much it would've been faster. This was a full 2 hour appointment. Even getting a root canal I've never been at a dentist for 2 hours. They "offer" fancy stuff like paraffin Wax, hot wraps, movie glasses. But I say offer lightly. I was offered the hot wrap but nothing else. The massage chair is just an uncomfortable vibration. No thanks. All that has to be paid for somehow. Their prices make getting necessary work done impossible from a cost perspective even with insurance. They're super out of the way too. So nothing about it makes sense to go back. Went on a coworker referral so had much higher hopes. The one good thing is they give you replacement heads for electric toothbrushes which is awesomeness

Abby, Dr Hawkinson's assistant, is warm, kind, and put me right at ease. She explained the work being done and asked if I had questions, and made sure I was comfortable during the procedure. Dr Hawkinson is talented, and her work is the best I've had. Everything looks beautiful and the crown matches my teeth perfectly! She has a great bedside manner and puts you right at ease. Chiemi and Mary are the hygienists, and both have cleaned my teeth. The experience is both comfortable and thorough. Their Covid precautions are spot on and I never worried about getting sick there. Well of course we schedule anyways and then two months before hand I see if I can change it. The lady says they're booked out till August. So if I cancel my March appointment, it will be a full year before I'm seen again. I think this is common in Anchorage. We don't have enough dentist that they're booked out a whole year? The lady couldn't really help me and I didn't wanna cancel so I just left it. I have to remember to call them if I can't go so I don't get charged $50. Seems a little ridiculous. The dentist also had a tremor when he was doing my filling. I don't know if that's an everyday thing or what, but I was a little nervous.

Called me the day prior to confirm my appointment and I recall our conversation juggling between the idea of putting me on a short list and pushing me out to May 2026 or me potentially making the appointment if i could make it work. Towards the end of our conversation, Patty hung up on me and I was left with the assumption that I was being rescheduled to May 2026 and placed on a short list. The next day, I received a call from Patty asking if I was going to make my appointment. Confused by the call because I was under the impression that I was being rescheduled to May 2026 and didn't get any clarity on the appointment because i was hung up on. Even when trying to make the appointment that Patty said i was still able to make, I wasn't able to be seen and was charged a $50 dollar fee due to a misunderstanding. Several times during my interaction with Patty i said, "I really think this is a misunderstanding" but she unprofessionally would say, "I don't think so" or "the last thing you said is you'd be here". But again, because I was hung up on, I was unsure of what the agreement was. The last thing I recall was I was being rescheduled to May. Customers aren't always right, but they should always feel heard. I wasn't trying to make an excuse, I simply was trying to explain my side of the misunderstanding but I was dismissed. Again, the staff here is always great and this was my first time interacting with Patty. Just wasn't the best experience compared to my prior visits to Huffman Family Dentistry.
