I was referred to Anchorage Oral and Implant Surgery by my regular Dentist, to have 4 broken molars…read moreremoved under IV sedation, as I'm very scared of going to the dentist. I had a successfully avoided the dentist surgery for 32 years, until pain from these broken teeth took me into the Dentist office. My regular dentist thought it better to have me sedated, and sent me to Dr Sashi to get the work done. I admit to being quite terrified - even just getting in one of those tilt-back chairs has me a nervous wreck. Tristan was my dental technician, and she was very warm, kind, understanding and welcoming. She took some kind of X-ray, where i had to sit, and put my chin in a tray, and it took no time. Dr. Sashi examined my mouth, and he explained everything. I said "Are you good?" (Trying to inject humour into the situation, to ease my nerves) and he said "I'm very good" i said i like that confidence! I knew he was good from all the reviews I'd seen about him. I was taken through to my treatment room, and given a blanket. I had a blood pressure cuff attached, sensors on my chest and stomach, a finger device, an oxygen tube into my nostrils, and the IV was started. This took, what seemed like seconds to get all this done. The injection to start the IV was quite literally painless, i barely even felt it. However, i didn't immediately fall asleep, so i started getting nervous like "Hey, I'm awake over here" But the next thing i know, I'm awake, with a big ice bandage round my head, and gauzes sticking out of my mouth. Quite dizzy, and not able to walk well yet. My friend who had driven me to the appointment, and waited while the surgery was completed was in the room waiting to escort me. I was mumbling, probably nonsense, and hugging all the staff in sight *facepalm* but i was quite loopy from the anaesthesia, so i can be forgiven for this. I was given an aftercare package, that is very thorough, and has do's and don'ts, and what you should be doing on each day following surgery. I haven't experienced a huge amount of pain either and i had turned down strong painkillers, but was told to call back for a prescription if i felt i needed it. Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen has managed my pain levels thus far. I am very happy with my extractions, and the stellar treatment i received at this Dental Surgery, and Dr. Sashi is indeed "Very good!" I do recommend this place.

I've used some of the medication to reduce swelling, but never any of the serious pain meds. Just didn't need them.

His reckless lack of treatment resulted in emergency surgery 11 days later with permanent nerve damage and disfigurement. He won't even admit fault. Needless to say I do not recommend this surgeon.

If you are confused as a result, it's on you! This refers to everyone at their front desk and Dashow, who disregarded our concerns about misinformation and lost his professional composure toward us in the waiting room. Not sure how the procedure itself went, he didn't bother showing up after to update on anything. Called the office and had to settle for copies of the medical notes instead of talking to someone about what was done and forget about aftercare or asking questions about what to expect during healing. Went to other medical professionals to get aftercare and frankly, was relieved not to go back to that office. Their office space or patient rooms are not private; you can hear conversations from treatment rooms and patients moaning from pain while you sit in the waiting area. One visit while I was waiting to be seen, a parent told the front desk they had to leave because it was hard for them to hear their kid in pain. When I set up my original appointment, they were in network with my health insurance. By the time I got to my first appointment, they were no longer in network but didn't bother to tell me until I checked in, then they were all about getting paid. I should have taken that as a sign of how they treat people and run their office; BADLY!

Having just moved here from Portland I needed to find a new dentist for my family…read more I had been to 5 dentists in Anchorage before I finally came to Health Centered Dentistry to see the amazing Dr. Mishler. I have very high standards. Dr. Mishler did a crown and he exceeded my high standards. My husband is afraid of dentists, but Dr. Mishler has a very calming presence (he is so good with children!!), my husband was able to relax while several of his Mercury filings were replaced in 1 visit. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

She was taken from the lobby and then waited by herself in a room for 45 minutes before being seen by anyone. The extra procedure they did on her was $1,000 extra and they had no problem billing that amount. The extra procedure took 3 days to recover from and I would not have said yes to it. I called several times to speak with a manager and despite leaving messages with people and on voicemail, the manager never responded. I just got calls from the front desk asking to be paid. When I told them that I was changing dentists and wanted to leave with no bills they said I was squared up -owed nothing. Months later they called me about a payment that they found I owed. I could go on and on, but not worth any more of my time. This place is overpriced and unprofessional.
