You know that paperwork that you sign that say something like "...this is the estimated cost of you surgery/treatment"? Well, we always assumed that for a simple root canal procedure, that the office would have no problem giving us a fairly accurate estimate. WRONG!! The office was off with their estimate by over $1400! The office told us, before they knew we had any dental insurance that we could pay $1500 cash for a root canal. Well, AFTER they billed our insurance and we paid the additional $850 that the told us was our out of pocket cost, they sent us a bill for an additional $1400. AND, highlighted in orange that we would be turned over to collections if we didn't submit payment. I called the office, very upset, and talked to a couple of different ladies who were adamant that they would have never quoted such a low amount for our out of pocket cost, and would have never quoted a $1500 cash-pay price. What liars...! They ended up cutting a few hundred dollars off of the ADDITIONAL +$1000 charge, and they acted like they were doing us a big favor. Total out of pocket we paid these crooks $1550 in addition to what our insurance paid them, less the additional cost of the internal bleaching. Dr. Anderson did a fine job with the root canal, but I have never felt so deceived and lied to in regards to an estimate.
