The day of my appointment I got called twice within two minutes of each other. Second thing is I Went in for a teeth cleaning and got told I needed different fillings cuz apparently my fillings were too big for my teeth (never an issue before) and got told I needed crowns and a root canal. After they did my X-rays the doctor looked at my teeth they told me that I needed the deep clean cuz of the way my teeth were and my gums were not healthy. Once again this has never been an issue before. The initial process they wanted to do was 5,000 that I would have to pay out of pocket. I said I didn't want to do that cuz I don't have that money to spend on dental work that doesn't need to be done. Then with the deep cleaning it was 335 that would be paid out of pocket. When I told them I wanted a basic cleaning I got told no and they refused to do it cuz it wouldn't help my teeth and gums get better. After awhile I said I would do one section of my mouth and be done. They had two different people come talk to to convince me I needed the deep clean and even the dentist lady tried to say the same thing. I was there for over an hour and a half from start to the time I left. Overall if I could give this place a 0 star I would. The place is shady and doesn't deserve business.

Well of course we schedule anyways and then two months before hand I see if I can change it. The lady says they're booked out till August. So if I cancel my March appointment, it will be a full year before I'm seen again. I think this is common in Anchorage. We don't have enough dentist that they're booked out a whole year? We are really good about getting in every six months for cleanings, so we see them at least twice a year. I had an emergency procedure done at one point and most recently a couple of poorly seated crowns replaced. Dr. P and his staff are so polite, gentle and patient! During the procedure, I had an asthma attack that scared me a bit, but they were super fast to take care of me, grabbing my inhaler out of my purse and gave me some time to recouperate before getting after it again. They do their best to make an uncomfortable experience as pleasant as possible... Netflix, Hulu, Disney+... heated massage chairs... weighted blankets... it's pretty darn comfortable! Brenna has been my hygienist this year and I wouldn't trade her!! She's ridiculously sweet and so very gentle! Before you know it, you're done and ready to go! When we booked appointments for next summer, I reiterated to her that I wanted to be with her. I'm big on the relationships built with my healthcare providers. I know some don't care, my husband is good with anyone in the office and in reality, I'm okay with it too; but I really like having someone to look forward to seeing every six months!

Unfortunately, there's some nasty reviews here that are absurd. I was highly impressed that Dr. McNees did a thorough evaluation and paid attention to everything I said. Having been a former dental assistant, he was very informative. Some dentists quickly evaluate, dictate expensive restorations then leave the room. Not Dr. McNees. He had the patients best interests in mind, not wanting to do any work that was unnecessary. I knew I could trust him, ask questions and not be belittled. Shortly after, I received a great restoration to my front tooth that is invisible. Also, his staff is fabulously friendly.
