I've traveled all major airlines and I have to say by far Delta is the best. From the ambience on the plane to the entertainment. Overall most aspects of my flights have been very pleasing. I will say the one opportunity I see is customer service. I worked for a company that prioritizes customer service and safety. I am very in tune with the delicate balance between the two. Having flown Delta for several years and prior to retiring I was diamond with them. I will say my customer service experience has been about 50-50. On our last trip, we flew from Phoenix to Miami with a layover in Detroit. We enjoy the fact that they have entertainment on the flight. I like the TV monitors in the back of the headrest of the seat in front of me. I like this because I don't have to look down at my electronic device. I will say I feel like they are one of the most consistent Airlines when it comes to on time arrivals and luggage. Like I said, I've flown them for many years and never had an issue with my luggage. I've flown other airlines who have lost my luggage, Miss tagged my luggage, but Delta seems to have a pretty good system in place for managing luggage.

I despise Delta. Unfortunately I had to sit on their flights twice in the last 3 months and the…read moreexperience was thoroughly horrible each time. Coming back from Hawaii, our trip was initially delayed. After a few hours of troubleshooting, they decided to cancel the flight so we got vouchers for food and a dingy Motel. So, we try again to leave the following day. Obviously if you plan to go to work the day after trip this is horrible. i had to cancel on a number of my patients which, as a professional, I hate to do so last minute. I just wish that Delta was just as professional but unfortunately not. More recently, I traveled internationally and I was told that certain comfort products were banned according to Delta policy. In the back of my head I figure "okay if it's not TSA approved i can understand that". But when I looked into it further, it turns out only Delta has this policy. Whether it's an inflatable or neck pillow or seat cushion, these products are banned because they want you to buy their premium seats. As consumers budgets are getting Tighter and Tighter, it is very unfortunate that a company that is as big and as global as Delta is pinching pennies At this rate I might as well go for a budget airline if I'm going to be nickel and dimed. In the last year, my partner lost luggage accessories and customer service refused to reimburse him. I'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt but honestly, these back to back mishaps just reflect their poor business integrity. Moving forward, we'll take our business elsewhere.

My Favorite Airport to Fly Out Of!…read more Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is my go-to airport whenever I travel, and I absolutely love flying Delta! Being one of Delta's major hubs, DTW makes traveling convenient, and I've always had great experiences flying out of here. The airport is spacious, clean, modern, and well-organized. There's a great variety of restaurants, shops, and places to relax before catching a flight. I especially appreciate how easy it is to navigate the McNamara Terminal, even though it's quite large! I've flown out of DTW many times, and it's always a pleasure. From the airport atmosphere to the convenience of flying Delta, it's a great way to start a vacation! DTW continues to be my favorite airport, and Delta remains my airline of choice! Looking forward to many more trips!

I would like to express my disappointment with the customer service I experienced in the baggage…read morescreening area at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). An employee with the last name Orso displayed an unnecessarily rude attitude and a cold, unprofessional demeanor during the interaction. Customer service and professionalism should be a standard expectation, regardless of the time of day. It was approximately 9:00 a.m., and there was absolutely no reason for passengers to be met with such an unpleasant attitude. Travelers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy, respect, and professionalism, especially when navigating airport security and baggage screening. I understand that airport staff work in demanding environments, but that does not excuse poor customer service or a dismissive attitude toward passengers. A simple, respectful interaction can make a significant difference in the overall travel experience. DTW, please address these customer service concerns and reinforce the importance of professionalism, courtesy, and respect among your staff. Passengers should not have to deal with unnecessary hostility when simply trying to get through the airport. Please do better.

The confirmations not only reminded me of the actual time of my flight, but when I could check-in, and gate changes as well! Based on previous flight experiences, I downloaded the mobile application which provided me with leeway prior to my arrival at Evans terminal - Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). As someone who not only had just a carry-on bag with me, but had to drop off a rental car as well; the mobile application provided me with my boarding pass and allowed me to check-in ahead of time and head straight to TSA rather than to see an American Airlines agent. As for my airport experience, TSA was expectedly crowded, but the line moved at a very acceptable pace! The only things I removed were my shoes, belt, jacket, half marathon medal, and my obsidian bracelet and ring placing each item inside of my bag or backpack. And I had no issues whatsoever when going through the body scanning machine because I had removed everything I forementioned. The American Airlines gate was easy to locate within Evans terminal; it appeared professional, even with some of its hidden flaws like USB and charging outlets that do not work. Now, the boarding process felt painless for this flight back to Chicago, even being part of boarding group 9 which boards last! It was a very organized process unlike my experience boarding with the American Airlines in Philadelphia Pennsylvania which reminded me of flying with Spirit Airlines, tehehe, but I digress! While onboard the flight, I relaxed since the flight was short from Detroit, Michigan to Chicago, Illinois. The only communication I had with the flight attendants was the boarding flight hello, and the airplane departure "thank you" and "goodbye" greeting. As for the airplane interior, I loved that the seat was spacious enough to where I could adjust myself while seated. I had an acceptable amount of foot space to where my military-style backpack could fit underneath the seat in front of me. And I was grateful to have a USB and charging outlet within the seat area in order to charge my cell phone because the last thing I wanted was to have a dead cell phone prior to arriving at my destination. In closing, I am open to choosing and recommending American Airlines to a friend, relative or colleague after this experience. Safe travels, and blessings to all that read this review. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

After finally reaching the counter, I was told there were no cars available and that my only option was to take a truck. That was incredibly frustrating, especially after we had already waited more than an hour ourselves. At no point did I feel respected or valued as a customer. Reserving a vehicle weeks in advance should mean something, and the way this situation was handled was unprofessional and dismissive. I did and they said that the airport (Detroit International) was "too small" for JetBlue to have this feature (even though this is a huge hub for many airlines)! But, I could call JetBlue and get a refund - no problem. (This made no sense!) We ran to the regular Security, at the other end of the terminal. When I called JetBlue, the first agent told me that I couldn't get a refund because we had already used the tickets (!) - i.e. that we hadn't made the call (which took 30 minutes) before going through Security (!), but we could get a JetBlue credit on a future flight. I asked to speak with the manager and spoke with two managers, and the 2nd manager said she couldn't change the policy and actually hung up on me (!). Persistence pays off, but what kind of customer service is this?

TravisNovi Just Now…read moreWorst experience I have ever had on an airline. And I have flown for work all over the world in my 30+ years as an electronics engineer. JET Blue is HORRIBLE! 3 days in a row our flight from Detroit to Fort Lauderdale was canceled due to NO workers! IT WAS OUR HONEYMOON and told the staff at DTW so. In hopes they would help in SOME way. They laughed and said "This is how we do it here" as if reciting a rap song. The People working at the gate were the most unprofessional people I had EVER seen in this industry. There was 5 or 6 of them standing there doing nothing but talking underneath their breath about us. My wife heard "She can't even be sad; she has too much Botox" and all laughed. I did not here this or might have gotten bad! Again, it was our honeymoon, so keeping a smile on my face to not upset my wife. I asked Is there ANYTHING you can do to help us.. As my wife was crying and it was the second day, we were told, check our email, you were rebooked for the next day. We were going to the Bahamas, so was not that easy to just wait till the next day for a flight. No compassion, no I'm sorry, No, let me try to find something...... Just No. Out entire honeymoon was ruined JUST because of Jet Blue and the completely RUDE and useless staff. The sweet lady at American Airlines was MUCH more helpful and tried to help more than JB. The absolute worst part was seeing my wife broken hearted as she been waiting for this since she was a little girl. At 46 we expected some help and got 0. We sat home for a week upset over this and just could not believe what just happened. In this day and age, where customer service should be somewhat helpful as everything is outsourced or done my nonhumans, you would think "We do have a chance for a positive outcome." Totally crushed solely by JET BLUE!!! Thanks. Travis T. travisnovi gmail
