Prior to my flight with United Airlines, I attempted to check-in via mobile application as I searched for the terminal inside of Detroit Metropolitan Airport which was a headache. I love downloading the airlines mobile application because it provides some leeway prior to arriving at the airport if you do not have any bags to check-in, allowing you to head straight to TSA. As for my airport experience with United Airlines, I was hindered from checking in via mobile application due to having to show proof of my bag size prompting me to see the agent. The process ended up being quick with the agent, and I headed straight to TSA after I received my boarding pass. With the sense of feeling rushed at security, I failed to take off my belt that was filled with embellished designs, resulting in me being pat-down. Talk about an unpleasant, emasculating feeling, aye yai yai! Furthermore, the United Airlines gate appeared professional! And the boarding process went smoother than the process I experienced trying to locate the terminal for United Airlines. Now as for my onboard experience, I wanted to charge my phone as I slept on flight since my phone battery was low. I was not fond of the placement of the power outlet which was in-between both seats in an area not so visible. And on top of that, the charge was not the best. I slept the majority of the flight, so I had little communication with the flight attendants other than the boarding flight hello, a flight attendant asking me if I wanted water as I woke up briefly, and the post airplane departure goodbye greeting. And lastly as for the airplane interior, the seat comfort was terrible! I felt very snug with little room to move, and seemingly close to the seat back television screen in front of me. I did love that there was a seat back television, but it was hard to enjoy it when it felt so close! Imagine being strapped up in a seat and being forced to watch a television up close. Yes, that is how I felt while awake on this flight, so I just closed my eyes and tried to sleep the entire flight. In closing I will be hesitant prior to flying with United Airlines as well as recommending to a friend, relative or colleague after this experience. I flew to Cabo on this flight. Overall the Airlines schedule went pretty smooth. The flights arrived on time and left on time. There was one gate and luggage change but overall no big deal. One area I did have a problem with is the lack of technology on the plane. No phone chargers or monitors. The flights with Tech may only be in the longer flights. I'm not sure as I don't usually fly United. Most other competitors have this in most planes. In this day and time you would think it would be more with the times. Also on the return flight in Mexico the systems went down for check-in but the staff stepped right in and helped. On a positive note the flights did include Wifi but it did not work great. The employees were also kind and helpful but overall lack of the Tech was one of my things. I also am grateful that the flights were not canceled during this time frame where a variety of flights were canceled. I appreciate that.

No kiosks, security and check in a total mess. Would not recommend out of Detroit. Full flights no social distancing.

Great for the price. plugs on the planes (at least for some of the longer flights) and some free media choices on the app if you download.

I took the time this morning to create an account with Budget and sign up for Fast Break so I could go straight to my car. After taking the shuttle to the car lot I wandered around in freezing rain and couldn't find where to go. I went back to the counter area and found someone that would listen to me that told me that Fast Break was "unavailable" today and I'd have to get in line. A line a lot longer than when I arrived but zero communication from Budget ... Yeah. Fun. 2 counter attendants and like 20 people in line. No way I get to my destination on time. They have QR codes posted everywhere to scan to shorten time then don't bother to keep up their end of the bargain yet if you complain, it's not fixed and no one cares so what is happening in America these days? Bad service, long lines, rude people... Goodness! I tried and still lost :( Budget was really really bad today on my first (and last) experience with them Also, the shuttle from DTW? Driver didn't even try standing up to help people with luggage even when a passenger struggled to get a heavy bag up the steep steps. Just sat there staring. And still had a Tip Jar 2 feet away. It was nice seeing my name on the screen when the shuttle got us there. The only issue is that service is only provided during certain hours of the day, and when your plane arrives at 11pm, you have to go inside, and wait in the extremely long line where they are understaffed. One of the staffers did say for me to just go pick out the car and gave me an upgrade for the inconvenience which was nice. I would rent from them again. 2025-11 #562

In the end it worked out, but this story is mind-blowing. I went to check in online for my flight,…read more24 hours ahead of time. There was an option to pay $15 more per person for expedited security. I hesitated because there are four in my family, but paid to have peace of mind. I printed the boarding passes. When we got to TSA Pre-check, I showed the boarding passes and they said I had to return to the check-in counter to get a sticker or stamp. I did and they said that the airport (Detroit International) was "too small" for JetBlue to have this feature (even though this is a huge hub for many airlines)! But, I could call JetBlue and get a refund - no problem. (This made no sense!) We ran to the regular Security, at the other end of the terminal. When I called JetBlue, the first agent told me that I couldn't get a refund because we had already used the tickets (!) - i.e. that we hadn't made the call (which took 30 minutes) before going through Security (!), but we could get a JetBlue credit on a future flight. I asked to speak with the manager and spoke with two managers, and the 2nd manager said she couldn't change the policy and actually hung up on me (!). I called back and was greeted courteously and the matter was taken care of. The agent said I would get a refund and even apologized for the drama (!). Persistence pays off, but what kind of customer service is this?
