We called them from Austin (where we live) because while visiting earlier in the week we felt the system didn't seem to be blowing cold/keeping up as it should. Even though we said it wasn't an emergency Lone Star sent a tech over the same day. Mom said he spent quite a bit of time running tests and could find nothing wrong. She said he was very polite, explained everything to her and that even though it was past the one year labor warranty he did not charge for the call. It turns out that while there we must have remedied any problem when we replaced her return air filter with a clean one, but couldn't really tell because her ceilings are so high and we did it at the end of our visit. Anyway, when we had gone outside the air blowing out from the condenser was not very hot so we thought the freon was low hence the service call for Mom...but come to find out, the newer larger units don't put off as hot of air, only 15-20 degrees hotter than the ambient air. So Lone Star's install was good and this review is a thank you as well as a recommendation. (My brother selected Lone Star for Mom and he researches...so a double recommendation if you count that :-) ).

We called to set up an appointment and were offered a slot the following morning. We were kindly greeted by Justin, the installation technician. Justin and his partner conducted a complete walk through of our 1200 sqft home and offered suggestions on where to put motion sensors, door and window monitors, and signs/stickers. I'm not sure what you're used to but I was very impressed with the door sensors. Justin and his partner drilled a hole about the size of a nickle into the inside frame of our front and back door and inserted a sensor. His partner came through with a vacuum to clean up the wood shavings from the door. There are no wires or cords to fuss with or visible sensors on top of the door, but a small sensor on the inside of the door that you can only see, if you're really looking for it. Justin also told us where the best place to put our motion sensor and window monitors as well. One of the coolest things is the pad to control everything. It literally looks like an iPad. It is very user friendly and looks awesome! We also received two key fobs to secure our home while we are away and enter when we return without setting the alarm off. Moving on to the prices. The website has different packages you can choose to fit your needs. Our entire package was $45.00/ month for three years and there was a $69.00 installation fee. This included door sensors, window sensors, motion detector, 2 key fobs, 2 signs, a sheet of window stickers, and installation. I think this is a very reasonable deal for our piece of mind and sense of safety. I loved the customer service offered, and how well everything works. It is fast, efficient, and effective.

They insured alley was not blocked. Everyone on crew was very respectful of us , the dogs and our property. Cleaned up each day and took construction trash with them. Installation was very professional and no damaged caused on removal of attic equipment. Jordan took time to explain installation and set up the wifi thermostats and demonstrated how they work. They added an addition outlet and increased the size of two return lines for better airflow. Outdoor units were spaced properly for efficient air exchange. Invoice was exactly as bid. Very happy with installation, the crew doing the work and Jordan's leadership of the installation.

On several occasions I contacted them to request a Nest thermostat during initial install and now a replacement filter for the humidifier. On all occasions I've been told by a female(s) that Scott will call me back but that never happens. I ended up buying my own Nest thermostat and delivered it to them only to be told by Scott that I should return it and he would install a Nest Pro. If my calls had been returned I wouldn't have had to make trips back and forth to Lowes for the thermostat. I also experienced a problem with the fresh air intake vent on the system. After contacting them several times, I was told "they are discussing the issue". Eventually I had to fix the problem myself. Now I've had to order filters online because my call to request a replacement filter was never returned. Several of my friends and co workers are having new construction done by the same builder and have had the same experience with Air Masters. I'm now using another HVAC installer for 2 systems in my barn because I've lost all confidence in Air Masters. Since they can't return calls to their customers, correct installation issues and provide support, they've lost my business. Update- I was contacted by Air Masters 30 minutes after posting the review about the humidifier filters. Coincidence????
