Dr. Sampson, eye surgeon in Lakeport, Ca., and his office, discriminates against the poor and the fat!
When I mentioned to the office manager about the seats in the waiting room hurting my wife, they told me that fat people can come to the desk and request alternative seating.
I asked about the possibility of a few armless chairs in the waiting room, the next day, after the wife told me of the torture, she said, basically, tough, that's how it is!
They would rather humiliate the person by making them stand in front and have to ask.
So, stunned, I said have a nice day and hung up the phone.
Then Dr. Sampson called me shortly thereafter, telling me that he is the only doctor in the county who takes Medi-cal, and he is no longer willing remove my cataracts!!
Talk about 'stunned'!
(I am senior and disabled).
He basically condemned me to 'blindness' because they discriminate against the poor and, obviously, have a problem with heavier people!
Or not properly 'humbled' poor people.
There is a bad attitude in the office, but I guess that reflects the doctor's prejudices!
Another outrageous demand that he sited was that, as the wife was the only person in the waiting room, and the assistant came out with the remote control for the TV, I asked her to change the channel, please.
The wife had to wait for hours.
It took her 15 seconds to, grudgingly, put something else on.
And she reported this to the doctor as 'demanding'!!!
God forbid I had to ask where the bathroom is!
It is as if we were expected to 'know our place', come in on our knees, do not make eye contact, humiliate ourselves... and then, maybe if lucky, we will be allowed to remain sighted.
This entire experience was dehumanizing, discriminating and disgraceful!
People will see him because he is the only in the county, as he says, and doesn't need me!
But this is fair warning to one and all about who this is that is coming at you with a knife!
Dr. Alan Sampson!
(Not the dumb good guy from biblical tales!)
Beware!
I wouldn't let a man like this perform his ugly practice on a rodent! read more
