Love the Alamo, which is why it pains me to give only two stars. Three weeks ago a screening I'd already paid for was cancelled due to an electrical issue, and despite numerous phone calls and emails regarding a refund my money was not returned to my account. While the manager, Phil, was very kind and understanding, even comping me a free screening of a film last week, the fact is that three weeks and no refund is unacceptable. Yet what's really gotten my goat is the Alamo's sudden change in food ordering policy, by which orders are now processed via mobile app during the screening, which defeats the whole point of the Alamo's "no phones" policy and is clearly just a way for the company to avoid employing food workers. Can't support that. When a company straight up steals from you, it's time to stop giving it your business.

I enjoyed my movie and the food. Large portion, good quality. Felt like house made fried chicken and They had a hot honey thyme dipping sauce, wonderful. The place was clean, absolutely hopping and the staff were hustling. Food came out fast to the whole theater-- quite impressive. My reclining seat did not recline however (full theater/prepaid seats so was stuck with it), but my friends' seats did. I also thought the screen was a bit on the wee far side, but since I was seeing a horror movie it was okay bc sometimes you do need to look away and you can't always do that if you're too close! $10 to pay for parking.

I always get so happy for movie night here. What I love most about Alana Drafthouse is how they screen throwback movies. The food is incredible and I love the snacks and apps. The service is pretty fast, the theatre is clean. I highly recommend coming to Alana drafthouse.

Even with 19 years of going to Alamo for movies across the country. Truly a massive fan, I went in open minded about the new QR codes and it ended up being as bullshit as I expected. TLDR: FUCK the need to use phones in the theater. Insane decision. Repeal it. First off, once I sat down...I watched the employees walk past as if I didn't exist, typically I'd have a water right away and a nice greeting. Took the human experience right out of it. Then it was too dark to put in my credit card number. Dropped my credit card into the crack of my seat in the meantime. Then I order my pretzels and of course one of them comes out raw inside, which is unfortunate, so I "requested service" on my cell phone -- no one came for 15 minutes. (Reminder the button used to take only moments.) Eventually I chirped at a server in the row below, enraging the woman next to me (reminder, there used to be a very satisfying button, which I tried to press and saw it had a fucking child lock on it and I felt like an infant that couldn't get into a pantry. Nuts). Then I try to order my dinner and somehow double order pizzas and have to explain to the woman that I cannot eat more than one pizza. All the while, I'm fumbling my cell phone and trying not to lose it and I see the woman next to me ordering and a tinder notification pops up. The details are streaming back now. Anyway... Way to take the human experience completely out of the only novel movie-going experience out there. Will be organizing to get my friends to leave reviews as well. We were all annoyed even with open minds.

Alamo Drafthouse - Wrigleyville is my go-to date night spot for my husband and I! The decor inside of Alamo Drafthouse - Wrigleyville reminds me of an arcade from the 80s. They have a ton of throwback 80s movie posters along the walls and the sitting area by the bar has a lot of retro decor. Alamo Drafthouse - Wrigleyville has changed the way I go to the movies. It's made it nearly impossible for me to go to a movie theater that doesn't have recliner seats and table side food delivery. The biggest draw of Alamo Drafthouse - Wrigleyville (for me) is the comfortable seating and table side ordering. The food at Alamo Drafthouse - Wrigleyville is surprisingly delicious for it to be a movie theater. I've had a few of the entrees and I can say the top entree is the chicken club sandwich but a close second is the burger. The portion sizes are pretty sizable so you could easily share one entree with no issue. The one downside of Alamo Drafthouse - Wrigleyville is that it's small in comparison to other theaters so you have to stay on top of buying your movie tickets early. They typically show movies for one week to make room for other movies coming out. I've seen them have a movie available longer than a week but it has to be a big movie, like Superman.

The hubby and I have date night at the Alamo a few times a month. It's perfect because you not only go there to watch a movie, but they serve food and drinks. They menus has the typical popcorn, plus much more. Burgers, pizza, candy, shakes, coffee, drinks! They also have game nights and karaoke nights it's not just a theater. Everyone here is kind and friendly. Server's are experienced and knowledgeable. Always a great time here.

Came here to see the new Superman movie. The theater has a lot of nostalgic posters and some memorabilia. I like that they have a gift shop as well. We had pretty nice seats & the staff was very friendly. I ordered a chicken sandwich with lemon pepper. It was pretty tasty, I was surprised it was so juicy, fresh sand flavorful. I got the bottomless Diet Coke. It was super easy to request more. It was very worth it. A great experience overall.

Prices of items

Yeah, I'm sorry. This is absolutely unacceptable. This is how much getting a pizza, loaded fries, and a Coke zero was. If the food was good, I wouldn't be writing this, but the price is still unacceptable. I go here often, the food has gotten progressively worse. The center of my pizza was chewy and undercooked. The queso is a new recipe? It was inedible. $8.50 for a Coke Zero? No one made me hit submit, but I will never buy food here again.

Favorite movie theater in the city located right next to Wrigley Field of all places. While it used to be a standalone theater, it was recently acquired by Sony. I can't say I've noticed any difference in quality of food or price personally, it is kind of sad in a sense. Their food is actually really good. I usually order the Chicken Tender meal and we usually get the Churro Popcorn. I would actually recommend getting there prior to the ads, because then you can get your order taken and food delivered prior to the start of the movie. The theaters are also well kept and the seats are new recliner seats. I haven't noticed any damage yet which is nice. They also have a cool retro theme to the movie theater where they will be playing clips from old movies and you can actually rent movies at the front.

Ask the Community - Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Wrigleyville

My wife is disabled. So I try to minimize the distance she needs to walk whenever I can. When parking in the garage or street drop-off, how far is the walk? We had a bad experience in the Los Angeles ADH, and I want to plan a fun date night here.

The garage is about a block away, but I got lucky in this crowded area and got a spot across the street.

Let's get the logistics out of the way. Plenty of parking. Entrance is in the back (more on that). Dress is casual, but dressing up like 1920's gangsters would add to the fun. This place is great for groups or large families. Plan on spending about 3 hours for dinner and the show. Recommendation: Get there a little before 6:00 and line up at the back door (that is where the entrance is). At 6:00, use the big, brass knocker and knock on the door. Then, when Gloves comes to the door, whisper "I am here to make a deposit." "Gloves" is super fun, so play this up. No other spoilers so you can enjoy the show. Food. We had the steak, and it was delish! Perfectly done at medium rare and full of flavor. Loved the mixed vegetables and baked potato, too. The rolls and salad were average. Cocktails. Great selection of fun, themed cocktails. Look for "Al's Favorite" on the chalk board at the bar and on the top of the cocktail menu. All four drinks we had were great. Mugsy makes some good giggle juice. Service. EXCELLENT. The team is talented, and they work hard to serve you while putting on the show. They stayed in character the whole time, and the jokes were FANtastic! Finally. RELAX and ENJOY the show. I have not smiled and laughed that much since the Nate Betgatze show at Bridgestone at Christmas. Vito and his team are simply FABULOUS and FUN! This gets a MUST DO if in the Chicago area. Definitely a Siskel and Ebert "Two Thumbs Up." Now, make your reservation and get "the rest of the story" at Vito's Vault.

After my wife nearly fainted (LOL), the party kicked off right away. All the characters are played by people you choose, which made for a ton of participation--and luckily, my friends and family are all a little nuts, so they totally went for it. Our server was attentive. I liked that they had QR zelle codes where you could send the tip. It seems like all seats are equally nice. They keep the lights dim. But with our light up drinks & swords we were good. It was a lot of fun rooting for our knight! They take a picture of you upon walking in. It came with VIP lanyards, preferred seating, two photos in cute frames that we received at the end, and cake as well. We were seated at Table 1, and I honestly you couldn't get any closer to the action. Being right there made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. Pros: There was plenty of parking and plenty of seating available. I also liked that they have multiple showtimes throughout the day, which gives you flexibility when planning your day. They have a bar with a pretty good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, and the staff throughout the building were friendly. Cons: It is extremely loud inside. It was hard to hear the person giving directions from above, so everyone kind of just started moving at once. The seating is also very tight, and if you're sitting next to someone who needs a little extra space, it can be challenging. The seats sit very low to the ground, so anyone who is pregnant or has bad knees may struggle getting in and out comfortably. The food was okay, but it came out so slowly that it was hard to eat everything while it was still hot. The chicken, corn, and potato were the best parts of the meal. The soup tasted like it came from a can, and the garlic bread reminded me of the frozen kind you buy at the grocery store and heat up at home. Overall, we had an absolute blast and would definitely go back. The show, the horses, and being so close to the action made it a memorable experience. Just go in knowing it's more about the entertainment than the food, and you'll have a great time. I didn't post too many photos because I didn't want to spoil it for anyone.

The "seating" being office chairs was especially underwhelming for a movie theater experience--they weren't comfortable and definitely didn't feel like the kind of seating you expect when you're paying to enjoy a movie. The service was another major letdown. The waiters weren't very attentive, didn't seem to listen to what we were asking for, and we had to work to get their attention. The drinks were also extremely weak and lacked much flavor, which was disappointing given the overall concept. I really wanted the vintage nostalgia to make this place stand out, but unfortunately the execution didn't live up to the experience I was hoping for. There's definitely potential here, but the comfort, service, and drinks need some improvement.
