The 400 Theater opened again this weekend after being gone much too long! Based on how the shows are selling out, it should do fine.
Two of us saw a matinee today for $9.80 (price before 5pm). Evening price is $12.68. Children under 12 are always $6.92. Prices include tax. On Tuesdays, all shows are $6.92.
This means we can all finally go to the movies again without making it a major budgeting decision!
Its a small theater, but a big screen so you definitely get the experience you want when you go to a movie. Concessions include freshly made popcorn, with a small going for $5 something. Combine with a small beverage for $8 something to get free refills.
The best part is that it feels like a real, neighborhood theater. I can't remember the last time going to the movies felt l like 1) a friendly community event, and 2) a TOTAL bargain.
Super friendly staff. Really clean space. Unexpectedly comfortable seats.
From what I understand, they'll be making cosmetic improvements over time as the money becomes available. But its absolutely fine for seeing a movie right now.
Take the red line or the bus to get there, but we found street parking really easily on a Saturday afternoon. (Might get tougher when Loyola students come back in the fall.)
This place is great, and it's exactly what we needed in this neighborhood! read more
