07/18/23 - I born & have lived in the Chicagoland area almost my entire life. I have driven by the Pickwick hundreds if not thousands of times & believe it or not this is the first time I've been to the Pickwick Theater. The Pickwick has been open since 1928. My wife has been wanting to see The "Sound of Freedom". This movie is based on actual events that deal with an international problem of child abductions. I was hoping this movie would be shown in the main theater but it wasn't to be.

The main theatre is gorgeous. Seats move, and they are quite comfortable. They may be a little tight if you and the person next to you have broad shoulders. Luckily, you can move the armrest up or keep it down. A new release in the main theatre for only $12? Yes, please.

Clean, comfy, roomy and reasonable price. Parking was ok too. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Theater is gross. Ripped greasy seats and a drink still in the cup holder from the last movie.

They don't offer any reduced prices for senior citizens. They don't offer any early show price breaks.

Huge screen. Mystical experience and I absolutely love this place. I would go here every day when I was sad and feeling down.

The main theater has beautiful architecture, but also has a new screen to watch movies in the best way possible.

The AMC Niles is a nice movie theater. There are lots of great movies coming out in 2026 so I look forward to coming here more often.

We were looking for a local theater to watch "Ne Zha 2" and found AMC Niles 12. Initially, we…read moreplanned to purchase tickets online but noticed that no seats had been sold for the showtime we wanted. So, we decided to buy tickets at the theater to save on the convenience fee. This was our first time at AMC Niles 12. We attended the 7:45 PM show on a Tuesday and arrived around 7:25 PM. There was a young couple ahead of us buying tickets at a small counter right inside the entrance. They encountered issues with some kind of refunds and then struggled to pay using their phones, which weren't working. After waiting for 12-15 minutes, the supervisor who came to assist the cashier directed a staff member to sell us tickets at the main ticket counter, which was originally closed and not used that evening. The theater itself was fairly standard, with a large concession area that we didn't use. Our movie was in Auditorium 9, and surprisingly, no one checked our tickets. Once inside, we had the entire auditorium to ourselves--there were only three of us in total at first, and six by the end of the night. The screen was a decent size, and the sound quality was good, providing a comfortable movie-watching experience. However, the seats didn't recline, which didn't bother me much, but I did wish they were cleaner. They could definitely benefit from a deep cleaning. Before the movie, I visited the restroom. It appeared clean at first glance, but the individual toilet bowls were not, though I did eventually find one that was acceptable. Overall, I appreciate that this local theater is showing "Ne Zha 2". This is a fantastic animated blockbuster in Mandarin with Chinese and English subtitles. It has already broken numerous records in China and has outgrossed "Inside Out 2" at the worldwide box office. While it is still showing, I recommend watching the first "Ne Zha" on YouTube, and then go see this one on the largest screen you can!

I was extremely…read moreimpressed by the almost fully horizontal, comfortable leather seats, which felt like the movie theatre version of business class (the latter being a lot more...aspirational). Inside, the theatre was a bit too hot and stuffy, but it got better as we got used to it...or someone else notified them! The hallway into the theatre smelled like BO, which was unforeseen, but the theatre itself did not, thankfully. The bathrooms were almost fully out of toilet paper on a busy Friday night! However, when I told the one person I saw working there later on, she was very nice and said she'd tell someone to take care of it (and that person did!). It isn't bad enough to deduct two stars, even with other minor issues, but the sound itself was kind of bad at times...this is one of the main things a theater should be aware of! Some loud sounds in the movie resulted in some of the speakers rattling annoyingly. I am surprised. Movie theatres should be able to handle loud sounds. But in my recliner, it was easier to stomach...

But looking around love the posters and the promotional popcorn buckets. After about 20 minutes of previews the movie started. I did the Laser at AMC and the picture and sound was excellent. I hadn't been to this movie theater in years, and wow, does it ever need an update…read more The concession area was especially confusing. I still have no idea what the concession stand on the left was for. Then, straight ahead, I spotted another counter, but when the staff member noticed me approaching, he disappeared behind a wall. After turning the corner, I found a third concession area with an employee actually standing at the register, so I ordered from him. I wanted a drink and a large popcorn. He told me the popcorn was available in the self-service area, but I wasn't interested in grabbing a bucket that had been sitting out. I also like to add butter halfway through the movie, so I asked if I could get a fresh batch instead. He said that was fine and pointed me back to the second counter--the one where the employee had vanished earlier. I walked over with my empty bucket and had to get the attention of the staff member, who was busy on his phone. To his credit, he apologized for not noticing me and happily filled my order. On a positive note, another employee was actively cleaning the concession area, which was good to see. As I headed toward my auditorium with my snacks, the air felt humid and muggy. There was also a noticeable musty smell lingering throughout the hallway. My guess is that it was coming from carpets that hadn't been replaced or deep-cleaned in a very long time. The auditorium itself had a lot of seats packed closely together. I suppose I've been spoiled by other AMC locations with their spacious, cushioned recliners and convenient tray tables. Thankfully, no one ended up sitting directly beside me. Unfortunately, the seats weren't very comfortable. There was a noticeable lump near the back of the seat cushion, likely the result of years of wear causing the padding to shift and bunch up in one spot. To make matters worse, the cup holder on my right contained a pool of sticky slushie residue, which added to the overall impression that the theater wasn't particularly clean. The bright spot was the movie experience itself. The sound and picture quality were excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the film.
