A couple of days back I went to lunch here with some coworkers who do not believe in taking pictures of food and such. I enjoyed it then, and this came back by myself recently. Aladdin Mediterranean consists of both an Arabic grocery store /bodega, as well as a few tables for sit down meal . There's a TV on the wall streaming middle eastern music and variety shows. The very friendly and personable owner greets you and attends to you himself. During both visits, of course, I satisfied my sweet tooth with their flaky yummy pistachio and almond baklava. Whether you enjoy it right on your meal, or to take it later to eat at the office, this is a must. My most recent lunch was both their chicken and hummus lunch plate & a bowl of vegan red lentils. The chicken was well seasoned and a good portion for lunch while the bed of hummus had a great nutty taste and a mild touch of heat from I believe red peppers. Along with my soup, it was great for mixing with the fresh pita bread served. As mentioned with the bodega component, there are plenty of goods for purchase including various type of olives, pastries and dates among other halal products. Yesterday, I went with my husband and my dog to the restaurant. The food was amazing, so good !! Great price, great service and I love the fact that they were pet friendly. I've been today to this mediocre restaurant for lunch ! I ordered the 4 Kabob plate for 2 the meat was tasteless but we where still trying to enjoy it ! but the restaurant was soo loud another client was working on a Bluetooth call the whole time as he is in the office which seems not to bother the owner ! The food here is AMAZING! True middle eastern flavors. I had the hummus and it was super creamy and delicious, pita bread freshly baked came with, so yummy. Then, I had chicken shawarma 10/10! Spices were perfectly balanced and the sauce was super good! I also had to try the falafel and no regrets whatsoever. Super crunchy and flavorful. This place is half restaurant and half grocery. When we got there there was a large party with kids running around. We got the Aladin appetizer and it was good. Then I order the shawarma wrap, hubby got the shawarma plater and my son got the pizza. The wrap was good but dry. The platter was really dry. The waiters for got about my sons pizza and he didn't get it until after we finished and it was cold. The manager apologized and made another one but by then he got full of fries. They refilled our waters and never add ice so we got room temperature water. When the bus boy came to drop off the waters he spilled it on me and my sons food. My chicken platter was super big, with a lot of rice and a side salad. My husband shawarma was a little small for the price but it was really delicious. Originally we ordered a hummus in the beginning but it arrived after our entries got there. Also we had to remind her that we ordered it. It didn't bother us because the food was amazing and she was super sweet and nice. For desert we ordered an assorted baklava and a Burma. Both where delicious and I couldn't decide which was better. I gave it a 4 start because I was expecting a full restaurant and a little more options on food and a little faster service, also in yelp pictures look much prettier and cleaner. Came to Miami for work, and was craving some good middle eastern food, and saw this Syrian place on Yelp. I noticed a photo of the Aladdin shawarma, and was instantly drawn to it since it seemed authentic. I ordered the Aladdin shawarma with the lamb, but they informed me that they only had chicken. Fine by me. I also ordered 2 kibbeh just to try it out. The shawarma was Fantastic, like really really good! With the garlic sauce, I finished the shawarma way too quick, but enjoyed every bite. The kibbeh were great as well, but the shawarma is the real star. It was so good in fact, that I came back the next day before my flight, just to try the meat version, which was also amazing. I love that they have a market/ restaurant in one area. They also have a TO GO area in the market. In my opinion, the food was pretty good. The servers were really nice and were overall the best thing there. I had the Kabob Chicken dinner which was tasty, however after I brought it home, the taste wavered greatly and I threw it away. My friends had the "Special of the day" which was braised lamb in a yogurt based sauce. The lamb was pretty good however it came with a soup that was literally the broth of the lamb. I can not understand a 4 star rating for this place. The market is overpriced and when I asked for a specific item he showed me something that is not what I asked for in the first place. We walked in and no one greeted us. We were going to try their food and he tells us to go only when all of Florida is open for dine in not just take out. We walked out. This place is unwelcoming.
