This place is absolutely delicious!! I came here with a large work group to enjoy lunch and was not disappointed! Service and food were outstanding. They gave well sized portions and the flavor and quality of the food surpassed my expectations. Everything was top notch and everyone enjoyed the food immensely. My only reason for giving 4 stars is ambiance. The place could use new furniture and maybe a brighter, lighter aesthetic. It was painted with black and the restrooms were a little dingy and outdated. I don't say this in a mean way, as I understand they are a small business and may not have the money right now to make renovations or cosmetic improvements, but just as a heads up. Pita Shop is always a delicious choice if in the mood for middle eastern cuisine. It's located on red road in a nice little shopping plaza that has both indoor and plenty of covered outdoor seating. The service is quick with ordering at a counter and then your food is quickly brought out to you. My favorite go-to order is the chicken Shawarma platter. It includes two sides and you can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite is the yellow rice, but for a second side I'll switch between a Greek salad or pita bread to make little wraps to eat the platter with. It also comes with a garlic spread sauce which adds tremendous flavor to the dish. After a quick looking at their menu I was ready to order . The lamb gyro was sooo fresh and delicious, it wasn't too salty at all , and I even requested the sauce on the side just in case , with a side of fries that were fresh to order. The location is in a small complex in Miramar - and there are a few other eating places there (Cuban Guys, a Jamaican establishment, and a taco place - from memory) I ordered the following - Lebanese Delight - It comes with pita bread, Hummus, 2 kibbeh pieces, 2 grape leaves, baba ghanoughe and tabouleh salad. This was very fresh, and nicely presented. The tastes were excellent, the pita bread was soft and fresh. The hummus was on point, I loved the baba - it has aubergines in it, which I love. The grape leaves had a rice filling - they were a little over done. The only complaint I had was the tabouleh leaked too much watery substance, the longer it was in my plate. This meal is very generous and you most definitely do not need a side salad! a side salad - This is a side dish - and in fact is quite generous and good value for 2.49. The beef sandwich on rolled pita is one of the best I have ever tried in the SoFlo area. This place doesn't look much from the outside, it has a good amount of seating inside. We walked in for a late lunch and the female behind the counter was very welcoming and helpful. We went with the chicken kabob along with Greek salad as the two included sides. We also ordered some tzatziki sauce. It took them 20 minutes to prepare, but all the food was amazing. The chicken had some nice seasoning, the salad was fresh, the tzatziki sauce was perfect, along with the accompanied garlic sauce. The dressing for the Greek salad had too much vinegar; they should use more Olive oil. One thing I have to mention is that as soon as we walked in, there was an overwhelming smell of smoke from their grill. This made eating inside the establishment quite uncomfortable. They should know better, and fix the ventilation system above their grill. For this reason, I recommend this place for takeout only. read more

I wanted hummus! But I'm very picky about my hummus. I don't like when it has too much tahini (I love tahini but too much tahini makes it bitter). I also don't like tangy hummus so preferably, no lemon is ideal but if it does have lemon, I also prefer that it's light. I ordered the snapper with Greek salad and hummus as my sides. So the fish was lightly seasoned and juicy and I liked it a lot. The hummus (came with a pita bread) was so nutty and yummy. I've never had a hummus as smoothly textured as this. Normally, hummus has some texture but theirs is perfectly smooth and spreadable like mayo (best description I have at the moment). It was drizzled with olive oil and was absolutely perfect with their soft and warm pita bread, or for dipping my raw carrots into. They also gave me a tiny bit of a garlic spread of some sort and it too was delicious. At first I thought it was mayo but upon smelling it, I realized it was not. The only thing I couldn't really appreciate was the Greek salad. It didn't look fresh. The lettuce had browned a bit and I am visual. My food needs to look edible. This salad just didn't look good so I didn't eat it. Everything else was nice though so that salad won't stop me from returning. I've actually been dreaming of that hummus and plan to go back and get a large bowl of it to snack on with some carrots. read more

When I walked in I noticed all the walls were dark brown everything was clean but dark inside. I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich on pita bread I asked to have feta cheese added to it. Which is very nice of them. I got the hummus and OMG! Not only was it a beautiful plate but it also came with a basket of warm soft, fluffy pita bread. The hummus was absolutely spectacular exactly like I like it. It has a good amount of tahini so it is silky smooth. Such a bargain at $5.99! The gyro & Greek salad was also a really good portion. The salad was perfectly dressed. There was a good ratio of lettuce to tomato to cucumber & feta...super fresh! The gyro meat was delicious and generous. The only negative is that the tzaziki was only ok. It was a little thinner than I like it, but it wasn't bad at all. The restaurant is simple, but clean. It's a good place to eat a quick meal. Not necessarily a date night place. The staff was super nice and the food was spectacular.
