We got to experience the ole "brisket on the board" as soon as we walked in, and of course, we decided to scoop up a few sammies to eat when we reached out hotel. It was the perfect welcome snack for us! Outside of the brisket, we went ahead and scooped up hotel room snacks and drinks. We planned on doing that at a store near the hotel, but when in Rome... The truck lot only has a dozen or so spaces that were all full this evening. But the car area was empty and no one minded that me and my RV took up five or six spots. There is no power in the parking lot, so I was roughing it in the RV. Whatever, I got to sleep! When I awoke in the morning after a good few hours, the welcome center was locked up. Yes, the restrooms are only available from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Note that this is not the standard rest area at the side of the highway.
