A good display of brochures and information for Georgia, if you're planning on staying in the state. I was not, continuing on through Atlanta and on to South Carolina and then North Carolina. This is such a nice restful rest stop. The welcome center fits nicely into a landscape dominated by mature trees. You can walk as much or as little as you want to the picnic tables that dot the grounds, some sheltered but most aren't (plenty of garbage cans here so please do the right thing) Besides the usual amenities and offerings this rest area boasts an electric car charger, free air, and the Wattway Solar Road Project. read more

As rest stops go, this one of the better ones that I've popped into. It's large, well lighted, and the traffic route is simple. The men's room was spotless, although there aren't any paper towels. Blow dryers are useless for drying your hands. I wiped mine on my pants and decamped. There was some goofy "take a picture with cardboard cutout superheroes" thing in the great room. I didn't wander in there, in case I'd get an instant lobotomy. I'm befuddled by adults' adoration of comic book characters. Your results may vary. What was cool was the free tire air gadget in the parking lot, where you set the desired pressure on the device, pushed the inflator to the tire stem, and it either let air out, or inflated the tire to the target psi. A tone sounds when you achieve the pressure. Turn your engine off. You won't hear it, if you are on the other side of your vehicle. It's sad that I got and get excited about free tire air. There's also a free electric vehicle charging station. Yay for regressive technology! Let's drive 30 miles on coal-burning electricity! Or something. I saw a Chevy Dolt using this nonsense. Seems about right. Anyway. A really nice rest stop. You should pull over and pull in. No free peaches, which disappointed me. Our Florida welcome centers have free orange and grapefruit juice. Once we have you safely inside our borders, you get nothing. But our welcome centers have freebies! Pro tip: As you leave this place, accelerate to like 80 mph to merge into traffic. What would I without this place. Because my plant I work for is so close I usually come here during lunch breaks to relax and ease my mind before I go back to work. Great during the summers because their picnic area has a nice shaded area where you can sit and cool off. During the spring you'll get a glimpse of what the state of Georgia has to offer with it various flora. Autumn ... What can I say the foliage is pretty good. The restrooms are always clean so if you're on the road and need a place for a quick break it's good. The information center contains a lot of materials to help you with the latest activities that Georgia has to offer. Also... If you're into the lottery they have a vending machine that provide those services. But the best part of this area is the soft brown leather couch in the information center. When you sit you almost sink into it and ... You want to take a nap. read more

I go down this stretch of road a couple of times a year when I go to see family in MS. I've never stopped here until tonight. It was about 7:30 and I had to use the bathroom. Ok, what better place than a rest area right? I've found they are usually cleaner than a lot of gas stations. The vistors' part closes at 5:30 so the doors were locked. I walked around the building thinking maybe they restrooms were on the outside (I was not the only person doing this either). I never found it. There wasn't one accessible. I said outloud something like "are you kidding me, no restroom?" and some lady and her husband said "we never found it either". I know you don't want to leave these things open all night (there wasn't security like some rest areas in other states), but it was 7:30 and still light outside!!! I had to get in the car and get off at the next exit and go into an awful, foul restroom. Thanks for nothing GA DOT. read more
