What is not to love about a good Buc-ees stop! On our way down 85 towards Montgomery, we were pleasantly surprised to see the billboards counting down the miles, so when we got to the Auburn area, we had to make a quick stop. We had just filled up and were good on road snacks, but we still swung by and of course found something to get. This location is a tad smaller than other locations, especially in the gas pump area Still large compared to your standard stores, but smaller compared to other Buc-ees locations. We got to experience the ole "brisket on the board" as soon as we walked in, and of course, we decided to scoop up a few sammies to eat when we reached out hotel. It was the perfect welcome snack for us! Outside of the brisket, we went ahead and scooped up hotel room snacks and drinks. We planned on doing that at a store near the hotel, but when in Rome... This Buc‑ee's in Auburn is absolutely a destination in itself and that still feels a little strange every time I say it out loud, but here we are. Imagine a BBQ restaurant that is also a gas station and also a convenience store and then imagine the whole thing scaled up to the size of a Walmart. With over 100 gas pumps stretching out in every direction, people genuinely journey just to visit, and honestly I get it. We're on a tour of Buc‑ee's as we make our way around and of course this was a required stop. They're open 24 hours and we rolled in on a Saturday morning and even at 10:00 am there was only a light crowd, which felt like winning some kind of Buc‑ees lottery. Parking was easy, the energy was high, and that familiar wave of brisket‑smoke‑meets‑cinnamon‑sugar hit the second we walked in. Restrooms were of course clean and I love the red light green light above each stall so you know exactly where to go without doing that awkward shuffle. And did I say clean? Because they were clean in that Buc‑ees way that makes you wonder how they keep it that spotless with that many people coming through. And then a brisket taco and a bag of Beaver Nuggets and suddenly the whole morning felt brighter. Everybody loves Bucees. You will literally loose yourself in this store. They have everything. The store is always clean and most of all the restrooms are always tidy. No matter what time of the day you visit. I have only one thing that I don't like about Bucees. I saw the butcher in the center of the store chopping and trimming the meat. I noticed after trimming the meat he slid the trimmings into a plastic bucket. I got to wondering what did they do with all the trimmings. So, I asked. He said they through it away. I was shocked! I mean I stood there looking at them trim all those brisket and then to throughout the trimmings, and not all was fat. It was a lot of meat going in the trash. I mean they can pack those trimmings up and sale for a small price. Or give it to a homeless center to use to cook for the homeless. I was really disappointed and upset about that. But Qué Será Será. I feel like once you've been to one Buc-ees you've kinda been to all of them, but it's always a nice option to have. As a Texas girl, there's this thing where you can't pass a Buc-ee's and not stop. Apparently I have t travelled this road in a while cause I was surprised as I saw the signs sand my mother got excited as she thought she would have to wait till we got to 20 and stop in Leeds for her sliced brisket sandwich. However upon entry I was greeted with the traditional "welcome to Buc-ee's!" - I didn't get to walk around and check out all the merch but I got the goods, got some gas and kept pushing it down the road. Oh my God this is a gas station! There are 80 pumps of gas at this place, it's like Costco on steroids! But when you go inside it's like a dream come true!!! I would say it's a combination of TJ Maxx and Walmart! It's soooo big it's got everything in there, from dresses to hunting cameras! I spent an hour in there looking through everything and filling up my shopping cart lol They have a window with freshly made jerky, all kinds of jerky, the biggest variety I've ever seen! They have a brisket on board that they all yell when it comes out, it smells so good in there because of the brisket!! While on the road headed to Louisiana last year, Sophia and I noticed a Buc-ees in Auburn which opened up that May. I have to admit this was the 1st time we saw one while passing through. Friends of mine have always raved about the store on Facebook. And the store became so popular they even landed on CBS Sunday Morning. Well, we decided to stop by on Christmas Eve after landing in Bama and see if the hype was worth it. The answer to that is not a yes but a Hell Yeah!! The entire store was neat and well organized. The bathroom...clean and spotless. The entire snack area not only has the typical fare but also the Buc-ees brand as well. From candy to chips to even beef jerky (and I mean a whole lot of beef jerky), you'll feel like you're in a mall. At the end of the day, we ended up buying breakfast food. I had two sausage biscuits and Sophia had a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with tater tots. I swear to you their hot food tasted better than fast food breakfast. Also, I bought a bag of their famous beaver nuggets. All I can say is they're addictive. (Note: do be careful if you're diabetic. It is a sweet snack after all. It's about moderation.) First time at Buc-ees! The bathroom is HUGE and very clean! There was a lady actively cleaning too. The guy making brisket/egg tacos was super nice as we watched him make them. The ladies working the checkout counters were sweet too. Highly recommend the egg/brisket taco and the chopped brisket sandwich: the sauce on the sandwich is very tasty! I was in Alabama for Spring Break and visiting family. My sister told me we had to make a day trip over to Buc-ees and I was more than skeptical. Why go out of your way to see a gas station? But I'm here to tell you-- I don't always tell my baby sister she was right and I was wrong but she was right! Buc-ees is a must see. The minute you pull in you see chaos. There are SO many gas pumps! And the prices are hard to beat. Once you enter the store you see a crazy amount of food items right. Jerky, Beaver Nuggets, premade sandwiches, fresh fudge, assorted nuts, brisket, and oodles more. We had the fresh candied pecans and cotton candy. No complaints! The merch really is what got me. The clothing with the beaver mascot is plentiful. My daughter got a pair of neon green athletic shorts and every time she wears them now-- I smile. Additionally, on our trip we saw a toddler in a Buc-ees swimsuit. They legit have it all. Besides clothes there is artwork, home goods, athletic gear, books, and more. I could definitely see myself perusing the store to find a gift for someone. I didn't frequent the bathroom this trip but I'm told they are large and super clean. Parking isn't an issue but insanely busy. Staff was helpful. Pricing seemed a bit steep to me in the store but my partner filled our rental mini van super cheap. Wow I love this place! Buc-ees is a legend, and understandably so. I was really overwhelmed and impressed at the same time with this huge convenience store on steroids. You need clothes, they got them. You need a latte bar. They have it. They have every snack and drink you can think of. They also offer meals like chicken burritos, sandwiches. There is so much to choose from. You could be there for hours on and just walking around. I also really loved the immense area for dogs to walk around. I understand why people drive out of their way just to hit a store like this. It's actually an experience. It's very crowded, but there's plenty of parking thankfully. I really can't imagine what else this place needs. You can't leave empty-handed. In fact, you will probably leave with way more than you needed. I am so glad this is on the way to the beach and I wish we had more of them around, but it makes it all that more special on the rare times we take a trip and can hit a place like this. Also, they are known for having really clean restrooms, which is an extra perk. I would definitely say this is the most amazing convenient store I've ever been in and I hope they continue to grow. Buc-ees is kind of an experience. If you have never been, well you are in for something. First off you pull in and see the gas pumps. I have no idea how many, but A LOT. And they are always busy. Never been by when they weren't. Some (quite a few) people seem to get gas and then just go inside without moving so keep that in mind. Inside is like a lot of stores all combined. You can buy old timey stuff, food, deer corn, wind chimes, jerky... Just a hodge podge of stuff. We have gotten the brisket sandwich and Buc-ees chips a few times. The brisket is consistently great and the bill boards seem to agree. The chips can be hit or miss, stale the first time but really crispy this time. Maybe check the date on the box? Also the box lets chips out so pick wisely. They have the normal sodas and then their sodas. I'm partial to cream/creme soda and their versions are wonderful. Pineapple this time for me. Other than the crazy and sometimes rude crowd, I don't have anything keeping me from coming here if it's on the way. read more
