Great shopping UNTIL checkout. The cashier just kept throwing our objects in the cart crushing some of them. Ias,Ed her if she would quit that. And she said she had to do that because she was timed. We almost left at that time. You can't tell me that Aldi encourages them to do that Aldi in Daytona Beach doesn't and they are very polite and friendly. The market itself was fine. However, our cashier (Amariah) deliberately threw all of our groceries into the buggy. Our chicken was ripped open and smashed due to her throwing the 4lb sugar on top of it. I then tried to organize everything and she continued throwing things on top of my arms. Horrible service. Wouldn't recommend going back unless a different employee can help. read more

They desperately need to get self-checkouts or at least have more than one lane open consistently here. Love Aldi but regularly waiting in line for 3-4x longer than it takes to shop for groceries gets to a point where it feels ridiculous. read more

Nice store with nice workers that are almost always pleasant to work with. They have a nice selection of perishables and non-perishables however I do notice some of what they sell seems to be like off brand or knock offs. Can get noisy but the most of the time is quiet. Would definitely recommend. read more

I've always shopped at ALDI supermarkets for their great pricing and customer service however I recently shopped at this specific ALDI in Opelika, AL and I noticed the fruits that I bought were bad and molded. I went shopping on Wednesday (the day before yesterday), went to indulge in the mango and blackberries I'd bought and my mango had a terrible smell and the blackberries were growing spots of mold on them. I am highly disappointed and plan to steer clear of the fruit section at ALDI in Opelika. read more

An amazing selection and the staff was very helpful. We ended up getting a lot of fruits and vegetables and a few can goods.

I tracked supermarket expenses for the last 3 months and the conclusion was that we save ~20% by shopping at Aldi. For my family that means about $200 per month. Many products are significantly cheaper than Publix, Kroger etc, plus we like the interesting selection, whereas the normal supermarkets pretty much all sell the same exact products. read more

If you are not familiar with this grocery chain, do not forget to bring your own reusable bags to bag your items and a quarter for use of the grocery cart. Great store! Very clean and filled with great buys ! More than just groceries. Home goods, tools, garden things. Great selection of fresh and good looking produce. The only thing I didn't like about it was that they don't have the riding buggies. It's hard for me to stand and walk for long periods of time. My hips and leg just wear me out. You have to put a quarter in the shopping carts, but you get it back when you finish. Great system for that. Also bring your own shopping bags or you can buy some of their bags. Very cheap and reasonable. Great cold storage ones too. They also have bins where you can get free boxes that you can put your groceries in. They have a great selection of gluten free products that a lot of the other stores don't carry. Great gf bread, too. They are still stocking yet, so some things are not as plentiful as other stores that have been here a lot longer. But prices are great mostly. You have to bring your carts back to the storage area after you finish getting stuff into your car. East access to parking- in and out easy. Sacrifice of some things helps keep prices lower. All in all I loved it, but it wore me out. They'll get the kinks worked out as they go along. I wouldn't mind putting a deposit on a riding shopping cart like they have on the others. It would help us handicapped old ladies. I have to return, just to browse all that's there. Can't do it all at once. I enjoyed my shopping experience. The lines were long at checkout that day-- only one register open. But they had fast moving line. No bag people much that I saw. But think that keeps prices down too. Still had to go to another store to get several needed things they didn't have. But they are still getting settled, so I forgive them.
