I've been here twice and am a fan! I live in the twin cities but have absolutely loved how Britany has cut and styled my hair. When you find something that works, you stick with it so I'll keep coming back. This salon is so cute, located in downtown Hudson. I would call it a higher end salon that isn't pretentious. It has a bit of a small town feel. It is also an Aveda salon which I love. Aveda products FTW! It's a very comfortable, welcoming place. They are taking good precautions during the pandemic too by taking temperatures and requiring masks. Five stars from this happy customer. read more

I would not recommend ever going to this salon. I have gone 3 times and only 1 out of 3 times have I gotten what I wanted. The first time I got a cut and color the cut was good but the color wasn't even close to what I wanted (yes I understand color can come out different depending on your hair) I wanted a deep red with copper highlights. What I got was Ronald McDonald red on top and bright orange on the bottom. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so went again and had a good experience the color was exactly what I wanted and skipped the cut. The third time I went I wanted my hair cut in a bob starting at shoulder length and a retouch on my hair adding purple highlights. The retouch was fine but the purple highlights got cut out because the hair cut was done after the color so I paid extra for highlights that were cut out. My hair cut was a disaster. I asked for a shoulder length start (my hair is curly so it's always slightly shorter) and the first snip she took was at chin level so it was too late for me to say stop unless I wanted one very short part of my hair up front and the rest longer. Since she cut my hair to my chin when it dried it ended up being almost cheek bone short. I will never get my hair done here again not worth the time or money! read more

Because of covid 19 I was a little hesitant to get my hair cut. Well A'La Mode Salon put my mind at ease. They have prodigals in place, face masks worn at all times, temperature taken by receptionist when you walk in and the stylist have their own little rooms. Erin cut my hair and did a fantastic job. I have been going to a'la Mode Salon and Spa for over 10 years. I had fine damaged hair when I first became a customer. Within the first 6 months my hair was fuller, shiny, and growing longer than it ever had thanks to Boni and Aveda products. The staff, stylists, and entire experience is always something I look forward to! I get compliments on my hair all the time. My husband also gets his haircut here. He has thick wavy hair and this is the first place he has found that gives him the style he is looking for. read more

So i went here because typically a salon that is an Aveda salon is top notch and the website looked promising. The initial entry looks okay but I did not care for the set up. They are individual rooms and they are dark and drab. I understand they are going for a remodel but there was no sign that indicated that and right now it is God awful. I was silently sitting and worrying because had I seen the stations I would not have gone there. They need lighting and freshness. My stylist was listed as having seven years of experience and a master designer. I came out of there looking like a student did something they had no idea of what they were doing. It was nothing like the pictures I showed. There was really no bleach or blondness in the pics I had shown to her at the consultation portion. No hair samples were pulled out and placed by my skin or eye to see what works best in the range of colors. I had a 25 off coupon via Aveda online --I still paid 85.00 plus tip which is just fine if the quality had been there. I mentioned my coupon at time of booking and the lady looked surprised about it when I showed it at checkout. To her credit she was nice and accepted it without much problem and worry. Also to her credit when I went home and showed the family and looked at my hair close in the light--I called immediately before they closed at 9 pm and she was very willing and helpful and understanding. I got back in the very next morning for a correction. The same stylist fixed my hair and it is acceptable now--I only had her do an all over color to "fix" it as I don't think she is capable of giving me the look I was hoping for. At least I can go out in public without looking like one of those people that they photograph as Walmart shoppers. The salon also gave me two coupons the first time there for me and a friend which I totally appreciate the marketing they are doing and it was a classy gift certificate coupon. I bumped up from one star because I do believe they are trying and each stylist is responsible for their own work not the entire salon and I did get a correction without having to be upset, cry, angry, or forceful. So that was handled very professionally I just cannot give them an a-ok based on my experience. read more

A great little aveda hair salon/spa. The staff is so friendly and nice. I came in on such short notice and they got me in right away. In my first visit I got a coupon for my next visit which was so nice. I also got offered aveda tea or coffee while I had my hair done. I enjoyed this place for the way I was treated and the attention I received. I will for sure be back. Parking is on the street or at a meter, Not too bad really. Prices aren't bad for the quality of service. read more

I hate leaving sub-par reviews... but every experience I've had here have been totally 'meh' and not at all luxurious (like a day spa is supposed to be). My most recent visit was this week, receiving a facial with a gift certificate I got for my birthday. The service was fine (nothing special or inspired, but not bad), but the table was ridiculously uncomfortable. Every other time I've received a facial, (especially at a day-spa, mind you), the hydraulic table has been set to be comfortably reclined with a bend for the knees (or at the very least, a bolster under the knees). Not here... completely flat with a weird bunching of something at the mid back and (my intention here is not to sound condescending..) I'm wondering if the esthetician even knew how to adjust it. I did make a request in the beginning, to somehow adjust for comfort, but it was basically ignored. I spent the rest of the session alternating one knee up and shifting onto the opposite hip to avoid low back strain (especially with the lack of bolstering under the knees). Anyway, long story short, if I ever get another GC for A'la Mode, it will go right toward their Aveda products! :) The services are completely over-priced in comparison to the luxurious, professional experiences one can get at other spas in the area. read more

Went here for the first time today because it was the only aveda salon in Hudson. I got in last minute for a brow wax. Not very happy with them. The girl I saw waxed my left brow way too far over in the center. Had a new stylist, Amanda. She was very friendly and did a great job She did a color service.Could not be more happy with the results. .

Basically show up 15 mins late from your original appt and even then you'll STILL be waiting they are terrible with appt times and if you want your hair ruined I reccomend going here you show them a picture? The result? You get nothing At ALL what you wanted. I wanted blonder hair and they can't even connect to your roots. Rip off. read more
