I was in town for my mothers funeral and scheduled a haircut with Jess a week in advance. I showed up 30 minutes early and she was still cutting my hair when her next client showed up, she only gave herself 1 hour when I wasn't even finished in 1 hour and 30 minutes. I had showed her an inspo picture, which was a cute bob with face framing, slight side bangs, at shoulder length. My hair was passed my butt prior to getting cut, a huge change to say the least. I have had this haircut before, so I know it's not an issue with my hair. My hair is ruined. She cut it at least 2 inches shorter than asked, the ends of my hair only reach my Adam's apple.. the layers are terrible and choppy, and the side bangs don't go down at a proper angle, there are random long pieces, and one side was way longer than the other. I was nervous and still tipped 25% even though the haircut left me feeling terrible about myself. I had reached out to her when I got home and really looked at it to see if we could fix my bangs and even out both sides so my right wasn't 1 inch longer than my left. She seemed to be in a bad mood the second I got in and after attempting to fix her mess, which she didn't, she said "alright you're done here" and had me on my way. I couldn't believe it. The day of me putting my mother to rest and after giving such a generous tip I am truly shocked. Now I need to wear a hat for 2 months just to go out in public. This has completely ruined my self image. What a waste of money, time, and all at the cost of my hair. I was in Minnesota visiting family and in desperate need of an eyebrow wax. Credo Salon was the second hit on Yelp so I called and Mary was able to fit me immediately. The salon itself is located in a really cute business park that is fashioned to appear like a small picturesque town, which is kind of ironic because Stillwater is a small picturesque town. The inside of the salon is comfortable and calming. Mary did an amazing job shaping my eyebrows and was very pleasant to talk to. I was home for the holidays and I needed a quality salon to give my hair some much needed TLC and color! The Run Down: -Clean, Well Organized, Spacious, Warm & Friendly Vibe, Perfect indoor temperature, Music set at a great level+ Parking isn't hard to find -Located in a cute family oriented neighborhood near Aamodt's Apple Orchard -Industry standard prices for all services (hair, nails, waxing, makeup, skin care etc.) -Knowledgeable & Friendly Staff: My hair was long overdue for a cut and color - My stylist Jamie restored my hair to glory in a time efficient manner. She was friendly - all smiles, provided me with realistic hair care tips & truly listened to what I wanted. She was able to hold a conversation (no awkward silence) while paying attention to detail -Amazing massage chair! The chair is super intense (similar to the strength of a deep tissue massage) and got out some of my knots while I waited for my color to set. The massage felt great on my upper back; however the chair was a little extreme when it came to my lower back. Overall, I LOVE Credo! If I still lived in Minnesota I would make Credo my go-to salon. I definitely plan to visit Credo again when I'm back in town this summer. read more

On a spur of the moment, like usual, I wanted a pedicure/manicure. I called Credo and they worked to get me in the same day. When you walk in the decor is inviting and soothing; you feel like you're leaving the stress of the day behind you. They do a create job of creating an energy that is fun, inviting and soothing - not an easy balance. Music level is not overpowering like many salons and indoor temperature was perfect. The acoustics of the salon are excellent; it doesn't have that crazy-making vibe of many salons that have too many chairs and no acoustics to quiet the noise. You could actually hold a conversation with your stylist without yelling. The product lines they carry are excellent. The small retail area of scarves, purses and jewelry allows for some fun browsing between services. The retail area is well thought out and not overdone. I got spoiled by May-yer with the mani/pedi. Then I got even more spoiled with a great blowout by Nikki and a express make up session with Yulia. All three services were done above expectation. The pedi took place in a soothing room on the second floor away from the buzz of the salon - very relaxing - the pedi chair was comfortable and easy to get in and out of with wet toes. The rest of the services took place on the first floor where all the action was happening. Nikki did a create job making my hair look great and full of body after a recent haircut disaster. Yulia created a very natural, yet popping look on me; one that I actually think I could do myself. The services I received were above and beyond expectation at Credo. The Credo team does what they can to make you feel good while there and help you look great before you leave. I'm a transplant to Stillwater and have been to many salons in town searching for the right fit. The prices are competitive with what other salons are charging and I felt their service was more personalized than most I've been too. I'm already scheduled to go back for a facial in a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to a "true" facial where the esthetician customizes and mixes the products for my face during the treatment versus using products out of a tube. Can't wait to see the difference.
