I went to business website booked a day and time for service. I then selected the service i wanted off there website. I selected Change Oil and Filter, Check top off fluids, set and check tire pressure, and reset oil light price which was listed at $28.17. I arrived for my appointment left keys in vehicle was escorted inside service center and was told to check in with front desk. I spoke with Mr. London Hall told him i was her for an oil change he said okay have a seat. I sat down 4 mins later Mr. Hall approached me and said my past works card was expired would i like to renew for a new works package. I told Mr. Hall no i want what i selected online just the oil change for $28.17. At that time Mr. Grayson Harazin who was seated to the left of Mr. Hall stated that price online was for the labor only. I was dumb founded at 1st then ask well how much is just an oil change nothing extra Mr. Harazin stated $89.00. I said thats crazy i could get Jiffy lube to do a standard oil change for $40 which is still a little high. Mr. Hall said i can get 4 oil changes for $100 with a years time with the works and asked if id rather have that i said okay reluctantly. So i returned to my seat and got back online to see if any small print said this price is just labor price i didnt see any such thing written on website. I returned to speak with Mr. Hall, Mr. Harazin stepped away and was in the shop. I told him no where does it state that the price online is just labor. I told him that bait and switch pricing which is illegal i wanted to speak with a manager he disappeared for 7 mins returning with Mr. Harazin who said he was the manager. I stated that the price online is $28.17 no.where does it say labor price i told him this is illegal maryland has consumer protections against predatory business practices such as this. Mr. Harazin said those prices listed all say "starting at" i advised him that only two stated that the others give firm pricing. Mr. Grayson said he would give me the oil change at $28.17 but he would have them Al Packer Ford change the website. I got my vehicle back they comped the oil change. I am writing because what they tried to do is illegal bait and switch. Up selling is legal but you cant lie to a consumer to get them to switch a service. They advertise a price to get you there then get you to pay more with unhonest tactics. I am happy i didnt have to pay for the oil change after all that nonsense but how many people has this exact tactic been used on. People who dont know any better would just except the 4 oil changes for $100. Which is $25 an oil change by the way so why is a singe oil change $89. Something needs to be done about this. No one should have to go through this kind of unethical business practices. read more

We sold a car here--overall it was slow and the process seemed draggy. FWIW we did have our kids with us, but they were well behaved for the most part and entertained themselves quietly. My experience with Al Packer Ford has been nothing short of a disaster. I brought my Ford Transit in four times for the same air conditioning issue, and after all those visits, it still wasn't fixed. Their ongoing failure cost me 7 days of downtime at $1,120 per day -- totaling $7,840 in lost revenue for my business. They ordered the wrong part and left me in the dark for two full days with zero communication. I had to chase them for updates, which is unacceptable when I'm losing money every day. When I finally spoke with the manager, he promised discounts to make things right -- but then refused to show me any breakdown of costs or paperwork, and even had the nerve to blame me for the situation. That is absolutely unprofessional and unethical. On top of all this, Jeff and Theresa smirkingly stood there smiling and laughing about the size of my vehicle, making jokes instead of offering any respect or actual help. I came in needing support and left with nothing but lost time, lost money, and blatant disrespect. This dealership clearly doesn't value their customers -- especially small business owners who depend on their vehicles to earn a living. Avoid Al Packer Ford at all costs. I've always had love-hate relationships with dealerships. IF you are able to find a great independent mechanic that specializes in your vehicle, make and model, then you are very fortunate indeed. On the other hand, if you are like the rest of us, bringing your car that you depend on is like playing roulette....sometimes red, sometimes black. I've been coming to Al Packer's for several years now. Originally, I came to have them do an insurance claim work on my vehicle. Now I bring my all my Ford based cars here for just about everything. I know I'm not getting a basement bargain rates (but the rates are very reasonable especially with their rewards rebate), but I leave with the confidence that my car will be looked at and repaired by solidly trained technicians that know (or should know) my vehicle. And on the off chance, that they miss the mark, what's even more important, is that I have the confidence that I can come back and they will make it right. My experience with Al Packer service department is pretty tops...The guys there have been 95% ultra professional and friendly. My favorite guys are the Quick Lane managers. I did buy a used truck here, and the experience was "ok". I told them not to pull my credit and they did, then they pulled a switcharoo on my loan paperwork. I suggest you have your financing taken care of before shopping....I would have normally, but this was an impulse buy, unfortunately. read more

DO NOT take your vehicle to be serviced there. They did not advise us of the testing nor the costs involved of testing on my 94 truck. I took it to Al Packer Ford for inspection. Meanwhile the service department concocted a list of needed repairs totaling over $12,000.00. I got THREE (3) different opinions from certified diesel mechanics who agreed I need only injectors (which is a lot less expensive than their proposal). Oh....4 weeks later after my request for inspection.......the rep had the nerve to say, "Inspection? I forgot" Well this is one person who will pursue a refund for the 2 unnecessary tests w/out permission or written diagnostics to the State's Attorney's office to be investigated. read more

As someone who purchased and solely serviced the car here Steer clear , all signs pointed to it and I regret it!! I bought my car in 2016 from Al Packer , upon purchase they told me the car would arrive on a set day it didn't arrive , after telling me for 10 Days it was in transit (came from VA) it finally arrived and they did all of my paperwork and sent me out the door. Than I receive a text from my sales person a day later explaining that they didn't fully inspect it Andy need it back. Than before I could even get out of factory Warranties the issues began and I got to see that outside of my service advisor (Tony) no one at this dealership is competent . I've had 3 engines all Ford warranty in the last 10k miles and a transmission that was originally diagnosed as engine mounts and given back to me only to drive right back and find out the Clutch had exploded internally. All these repairs totaling over 3yrs of shop time. But now They have decided that they don't want to work on the car. It sat for 4 more days untouched (confirmed through the service writers) and the manger Chris is refusing service. The Receptionist was absolutely rude and when I asked when my car would be looked at none of them had answers top to bottom at the dealership. So I guess if you want to go to a dealership where they don't care about Customer service or Quality of work this is your place. And we will all see the "we're here to help" generic reply . I promise . Nobody at this dealership is there to help. My car still has the same issues and will be going to Either Norris Ford or Plaza Ford right up the road. Save yourself the headache and the rip Off At Al Packers Whit Marsh Ford. Worst experience with a dealership I have ever had! I saw a vehicle on their website and reached out to them. Sarah and Arnold both emailed me and text me regarding the vehicle. You would think two people contacting you would get the job done....think again. I got the impression Sarah was training Arnold and Arnold is just clueless. When I spoke to Arnold he told me to send photos of my trade in. I text him asking if he wanted me to email or text them. He didn't respond so I emailed and text him the photos. No response. So I reached out to Sarah and emailed her the photos and let her know I had sent them to Arnold and hadn't heard back. I told Arnold I had financing already and just wanted the total price of the vehicle including my trade in. Arnold calls me to tell me they need to run my credit because I live out of state? I already have financing set up why would living out of state have anything to do with running my credit??? I tell Arnold that doesn't make sense and that I want the vehicle, so I need a final price. He tells me if I want the car I will need to give him my complete address (which I gave him), run my credit, and put down a deposit. I asked how much is the deposit? He says a couple thousand dollars. I ask him what is a couple exactly? Why is this dealership unable to give exact numbers? They never gave me a total price for the vehicle or what I would need to give as a deposit. I was on the phone with Arnold when he told me to text him my complete address and I did and then never heard back from him. This experience seemed super shady and dishonest so I went to a different dealership to buy my car. They lost an easy sale with their laziness and dishonesty. read more

I came into the dealership after work on September 19 to order a Maverick before the order cut-off deadline (set by Ford) on the 21st. I spoke with Arnold Silverman in the dealership who told me to just spec out the Maverick how I wanted on Ford's website and then email them a pdf of the build and they'd be able to order one for me. Simple. The next day at work while I'm building it on Ford's website I have some questions, so I call into the dealership. I end up on the phone with Jeffrey Kesner who is answering some questions I had about the build and the process, etc. and ends up being the one that I submit my order to. One of the questions I had was about locking in an interest rate since Al Packer's website had a banner on it saying that qualifying buyers could lock in rate's as low as 1.9% on a new vehicle. Jeffrey told me that they would run my credit and lock in a rate after I had signed the credit waiver contained in the order documents I had to sign and return. Right away he sends me back some documents to sign that include some figures to arrive at an out the door price, however, now there's extra stuff added in (no surprise there) like a $400 data dot theft deterrent and $470 for "Other" under Title and Registration Fee (I've titled a lot of vehicles in my lifetime and it's never cost me more than $150 for everything related to the title and registration). I was able to get them to remove the data dot and just left it at that. I returned the signed documents and after a day or two of not hearing anything I asked what rate I qualified for. Jeffrey responded via email saying that no rates are lockable from Ford on Mavericks.... wow, ok then. The next day I asked Jeffrey to return the Contract of Sale documents back to me with the signature of a qualified Dealer Representative on them, since it's not a binding contract unless signed by both parties and I've heard a lot of stories recently about dealerships jacking up the agreed upon price of factory ordered vehicles when they finally come in and I don't want that happening to me. Jeffrey responded 3 days later and said "when I get back from vacation I'll send". Two and a half weeks after that I reach out again, "hope you had a nice vacation, can I please get those signed documents?" Nothing, crickets... NOW I have to drive down to the dealership in person to ruffle some feathers because I'm starting to feel like they're playing games with me and I'm getting pissed. The customer service here sucks. I bought my pickup truck used from Bob Davidson Ford. Two months later the front wheel bearing was making noise which continued to get worse. I left it with them for 24 hours and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. When I took it to Al Packer the service advisor immediately said it sounds to him to be the bearings. My grandmother was a car sales individual her entire life, so I grew up at the Koons Ford located in Annapolis MD. Al Packer White Marsh is way below par the standard for car dealerships, in terms of their customer service. My mother a couple months back decided to purchase her first NEW car, she decided on a 2012 Ford Explorer. Already the car is experiencing issues, minor issues of course.. lights out, satellite radio issues, blue tooth issues, etc. etc. etc.. the list really could go on. She bought a "warranty" from the salesman to ensure that there would no issues, since my mom works in the city and knows there are bound to be issues with the car (scratches and such). She has taken the car to Al Packer, quite a few times, and they don't seem to want to take care of the issues, and find ways around the "warranty" they told her would cover everything. Now, just recently I took my car to be fixed due to an accident I was in. They told me they would need it for 10 days. I thought 10 days was a long stretch of time, in itself. Well... 14 days later and I am still without a car - talk about slow service. It is apparent that the dealership does not care about their patrons. But don't worry, its been duly noted and I will not be purchasing any type of vehicle or having my car serviced by them in the future. read more

The online ad for the vehicle made no mention of any damages, when we arrived at the dealership we saw that the vehicle had clearly been involved in a fender bender as it was showing damage (as much as a missing a panel). They said "no big deal" if we bought it they would fix it. Hmmm...what about you fix it before putting it on sale or honestly disclose the condition as is on the ads? We found that the online advertised price and the "actual" price you are asked to pay once they get you seated in the finance office is two different worlds...at least by $4000. They act like this is also "no a big deal". After all the "no biggies" you have a "deal" at hand that offers you a used and damaged vehicle for a new car price so you sit there scratching your head like, what? :) Overall, we had a stressful, time consuming and cumbersome experience and would not recommend this dealership to anyone we know. read more

Do not go to Al Packer's White Marsh Ford. This has been, by far, our worst car buying experience ever. We purchased a Ford Certified Pre-Owned 2016 Ford Explorer from Al Packer's in October 2018. We traded in a 2016 Ford Explorer XLT with second row bench seats to upgrade to a 2016 Ford Explorer Limed with second row bucket seats. We worked with two different sales people there. The first one was terrible. While I was at the dealership that morning, without my husband, he told me the 2016 Limited was the only Ford Explorer they had on the lot with second row bucket seats. I came home that afternoon and found a pre-owner XLT on their website with bucket seats. When I called to ask him about it, he did admit they had it, but he did not want to show it to me. He acted very frustrated that I even wanted to ask questions about it. My husband and I went back that night together to test drive the 2016 Limited. We liked it and worked on a deal involving our trade in. They pushed us extremely hard to buy it that night and drive it home that night. We did not want to do that because we wanted time to talk about it and finalize our financing. You could tell they were not happy with us when we left there. We went back the following day to finalize the sale. We secured financing with USAA on our own, so we did not finance through the dealership. We wanted to keep the Explorer we were trading in until the fixed three significant scratches and dents in the car we were purchasing. They talked us into driving the new car home that night and we signed a "We Owe You" slip to get the damage fixed. We were told it would be very simple to do and the dent/paint people would come to our house to do it. That was in October. This is December 11th. The dents and scratches have not been fixed. We have called the dealership, we have driven to the dealership and we have asked repeatedly to speak to the GM named John and the Used Sales Manager names Russell. We have been promised calls back and have received none. The New Car Sales Manager, Jimmy, did send the dent repair guy to my house. Steve, the dent repairman did finally come about a week ago, but could not repair 2 out of 3 of the issues. He suggested I purchase a bra for my $32,000 2016 Ford Explorer to "cover up the issue". I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. Since then we have tried to reach both John the GM and Russell the used sales manager with no luck. We have been promised calls back with no return phone calls. Today I was told the GM would call me back at 2:30 pm. That didn't happen. I called back and was hung up on 3 times by the rude reception. I finally asked to speak to anyone in sales and was given to Johnny, who was also one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. He told that the GM had gone home for the night and would not be back until Thursday (this is Tuesday) and there was no one else there I could speak to. He also hung up on me. I have tried texting and calling the salesman who helped us with the purchase, named Ryan. He was helpful at first, but has since then quit returning my text messages and phone calls. I am 36 weeks pregnant and stay home with my almost 2 year old. My husband works full time. Tonight, the receptionist told me the only way I would get to speak to anyone was to drive the 45 minutes to the dealership and wait to talk to someone, but she refused to set up an appointment for me to meet with John or Russell. Absolutely horrible experience. We are currently looking into our options as to where to take this from here. We absolutely do not recommend anyone do business with Al Packers. There are so many other good Ford dealers in this area, please do your business with one of them. I would not wish this experience on anyone else. read more

I came in for a certified preowned vehicle. I had been in contact with a salesman all day he knew what time I was coming in and yet had another gentleman come in at the same time, and then shoved me with my toddler off to the side, barely even spoke to us until we have been sitting there for about 30 minutes already The way the salesman would talk to me you could tell he was a complete sexist acted like he was superior to me and that I knew nothing so I left with no intentions on returning however, I could not stop thinking about the vehicle so I called the dealership and told them what happened. All they said was sorry and then I said well can I have a different sales person they gave me a different sales Person, not the best of attitudes with the fact that we only had certain times of the day that we could get out there because we live in a different state. Fast forward to the purchase I was told on several occasions that my DVD players in the headrest were factory installed so therefore I bought an extended warranty after having the vehicle we realize there were several things wrong with it. I understand it used, however they have a 14 day policy... and there were things that were not disclosed to us, and things that were promised to us like fixing our tire rim, so I wrote an email and one of the sales managers with no response. My husband and I tried calling several times with no response left voicemail after voicemail with no response and communication within this company is absolutely horrific. I have never dealt with a company with communication so nonexistent! Time starts to go by we finally get to talk to someone he gave us attitude asking why we waited so long to report these issues and that he's having a hard time believing that they were from the purchase so then I went on the wolf goose chase. I found the email that I sent with the date. I also pulled our phone records showing how many times we called that dealership, got them to agree they got in our car. They started working on things with the car then they tried telling me that they couldn't cover the issue with the DVD players because they were not factory installed and I said I was told by several employees that they were, and I bought an extended warranty for that reason it needs to be looked at and fix they kept refusing, saying that the tech guy told them that it was not factory installed. once again, I was on the wild goose chase to find the original window sticker which they easily could have done but of course, wanted to get out of having to spend money to fix something that they promised, and I bought a warranty for, I found the original window sticker which stated the DVD system in fact was factory installed, and once I provided that miraculously, they figured out it was factory installed, Imagine that. They have my vehicle for about three weeks I get there to pick up my vehicle the guy in charge of communication with us not even there the manager who has been in contact with us barely spoke two words to me, and nobody came out to look over the car with me to ensure that everything got done correctly. They did not detail the roof from the sunroof leaking like they had promised, they did not fix my bumper like they said that they were going to and they are claiming that an error with my mirrors is out of their control and normal when I know, for a fact, it is not. We are tired of fighting with them so my husband finally left a review and some lady called him trying to buy him to change his review! Sorry, but a whopping $250 is not worth changing our review on our horrible experience within the company. I will never recommend this company to anyone! $250 does not cover the amount of stuff that we have to fix and the amount of stress at the dealership has caused us. read more

It's a shame I can't give zero stars. DO NOT GO HERE. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. We made the mistake of buying several cars here. Every time we do, they present us with a survey, begging for a good review for customer service, which couldn't be further from the truth. Our latest experience is the nail in the coffin for us. We bought a 2016 Explorer from them at the beginning of August. It is STILL not in my driveway. We traded in two vehicles and paid cash for the balance of our vehicle, and were told we could take delivery on the Explorer about two days later because it had to be brought in from New Jersey. It took a week for them to actually give me a straight answer that the vehicle that we had already bought and paid for had already been sold to someone else! When we went to ask for our money back and to get our other vehicle back off their lot so we could go to a different dealership, they offered to special order me one. I agreed. What a mistake. When we took delivery of the new vehicle, there were imperfections in the clear coat. We were told we could bring it back for warranty work, and it would be all taken care of. We waited a couple days, because we needed our vehicle. They took pictures of the damage, agreed to fix it, and we left it with them over a week ago. It is still not done. My husband went to go pick it up today, and it looks worse than it did when we dropped it off! Not only that, but they tried to tell us it was our fault! He is still there right now, arguing with them to actually do the job right. I'm not going to hold my breath though. Not only did we spend a decent amount of money on a vehicle with them, they can't bother to stand by their products or their service! Absolutely, positively never again. And that stupid survey? The one that we lied on for the last two vehicles, because we didn't want them to "get into trouble?" Yeah. They can totally forget that! read more

Not only does he take great care of my car, but he is trustworthy and honest. My horrifying experience started on Saturday, August 13th. I went into the dealership to test drive a 2013 Land Rover LR4 HSE LUX. Granted when I got there it was pretty close to closing time. However, when I arrived I asked if I could test drive the vehicle and I was told that the vehicle needed some sort of "sensor" and I would not be able to test drive. Prior to that the salesperson Bernadette Pinder informed me that if I wasn't a cash buyer that I couldn't buy the vehicle because it was too old (2013) and had too many miles (99,000) to be financed with their banks. I informed Bernadette that I did not need to be financed with their bank, as I was already pre-approved with my credit union. Fast forward to Monday, August 15th, I receive an email that the vehicle is still available. I called and spoke to the sales Manager Richard Mylinski. He informed me that I could in fact test drive the vehicle and I informed him that I was on my way, within an hour. I show up to the dealeship, test drive the vehicle and I really like it. I told the sales person that I wanted to buy the vehicle, after we negotiated on a price. Once the negotiations were done, the salesperson tells me that I "have" to get financed through their banks, even though I informed him that I was already pre-approved. I asked him to get the finance manager as this didn't sound accurate. He was basically trying to force me to let them run my credit. I talked to the finance person (Daniel Cornitcher), who stated that although I was financed with my bank, the only way that I could leave with the vehicle was if I was also approved with their banks, in case "something went wrong" with my financing, despite me being financed with one of the MOST reputable veteran serving credit unions that there is. After a bit of back and forth, I asked to speak to the GM, who basically said that becasue "they've been burned" so much in the past, they can not let customers who are pre-approved drive off with the vehicle unless they have a certified check in hand, which is completely contrary to routine and typical pre-approval funding guidelines. Last thing, when I tried to forego using my pre-apporoval and just paying out right, I was told that there was a $5,000 limit on all credit card transactions. I inquired about a vehicle that was priced well below other dealers in state and out. It was around 6k less than every other Ford dealer. I asked for a lease quote and the payment came back significantly higher than vehicles priced higher everywhere else. I asked for the lease APR, residual and selling price the lease is based on to understand why they were so high to no avail. I left a message with a sales manager asking for a breakdown but did not get a call back. I understand they deal with a lot of window shopping but I bought a vehicle elsewhere and 10k more expensive. The fact they refused to provide lease calculations leads me to believe the low price is just a bait and switch tactic. I was just looking for a good deal but had to settle for a fair one elsewhere. The WORST body shop. They committed insurance fraud by billing my insurance for an alignment that they did not do. My car is now at the Honda dealer as the sheer incompetence of the body shop has caused further damage to my vehicle. They sent my car home with visible mechanical damage within the drivers wheel well. When I called to complain, Dan Nasuta, the manager of the body shop, said the car was fine and the damage was from a previous incident. My car was never involved in a previous accident. He also never mentioned this "prior damage" when I picked up the car. I had no idea that I was driving an unsafe car off of the lot, put my kids in it and drove over 200 miles. I could have killed myself or someone else, all because Dan couldn't be bothered to do his job. read more

Do not buy a car from this place or take your vehicle to get it serviced....what a joke.

The absolute worst! I brought my car in to be looked at back in December for a known issue that Ford vehicles have. My sister had the same problem with her Escape and if you Google the issue, you will see what the problem is and how it is affecting other Ford owners. Anyway, the car displays sensors that say reduced power due to engine temperature. The car actually loses power and you are unable to drive more than 15-20 mph. I took screenshots of the sensor message, dropped my car off thinking something would be done, and nothing was done. I was told there was nothing wrong with my car. That was December. Today, my car displayed the same sensors, reduced power, etc and cut off on me completely while driving. Now the car won't start at all. I called the service department and they tell me the car can't be seen until Wednesday and I can't get a loaner until the car is seen. So, I have to be penalized for the same issue that was supposed to be fixed back in December? And of course, now I don't have the same warranty that I had back in December according to Tony in Service. He said well you had a certified warranty back in December and now you only have an extended warranty. So, I am pretty sure you all did not fix the issue back in December because I had the certified warranty and you knew the problem was going to keep happening because this is not some mystery problem. This Ford defect is all over the internet and I am sure I am not the first person to come in to your service department with this issue. As I stated before, I bought two cars from you. I actually just bought a 2018 F-150 from Koons. I wish I would have bought the other cars from them because their customer service is 100% better. I received two loaners from them already and didn't even have to ask. I didn't even need the loaners. The loaners were for an add-on service and an oil change. I can't even get a loaner from you all for a serious service that should have been handled months ago. I will be calling Ford motor company again on you all. This is ridiculous! read more

I'll start this review with a disclaimer. The service department has always been excellent for the past year and a half I've been taking my car there. The sales department however is horrible. I bought a car over a year and a half ago. I've currently had two transmissions go bad in under 40k miles. Once the second one broke I decided to trade the car in last month. I put down $2k then was told I qualified for 0% financing. Then they called me up a few days later saying I needed to come in to "sign more paperwork". Only to find out when I came in to "sign more paperwork". I didn't qualify for 0%. However, I did qualify for 8%, lol. I decided then it was a lot easier to just get the second transmission fixed and keep the car. I then asked for my deposit back because they changed the terms of the deal. Which they said that they'd reverse the charge on the card and send me a check for the cash. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of paying part of my deposit in cash and the other part on a credit card. I've called them three time over the past two weeks. Having left two voicemails messages with no return calls. I've since asked the credit card company to reverse the change on the credit card because no one will return my calls or pick up the phone when I call. I'm currently working on getting the cash back. read more

WISH THERE WAS A OPTION TO RATE THEM AS ZERO STARS!!! Very disappointed! We purchased our first vehicle from Al Packer Ford in White Marsh and it will be our LAST! Originally we went in because of a PRICE DROP that appeared on their website. We emailed and spoke to the dealership to confirm it was still in stock. We arrived a few hours later, surprise it was sold. However, of course the salesman found a comparable vehicle at a higher price (close but still higher). We ended up buying the vehicle along with a protection for the vehicle which we was told was one rate than I got the bill (an additional $500). The contracts I signed was for $1795 and $500 (let's do the math....). The total I was billed for was $2962.70, I was told that AL PACKER incorrectly wrote $500 when it was supposed to be $1000. It's ok Al Packer said me to come in and they would correct the contract I signed to read $1000 rather than $500. HA! Then I was told it was 0% for 12 months, got the bill, yep you guess it interest has been applied. Obviously I called the office and left a message for the general manager, called me back two days later. General Manager was very nice and seemed to understand, said he would follow up (that was January 30th), Today February 4th still no response. I guess I have to eat the $500 and the interest. Purchasing a new vehicle is supposed to be exciting and thrilling! Al Packer stole that feeling from me. Each time I look at my vehicle all I can do is think how they lied to me and failed to make it right by acknowledging the contract price I agreed and signed upon. read more

Excellent service! I took my car in for a transmission problem. Bob Bayer was extremely helpful and kept me informed about every single step that was going on from diagnostics all the way to me getting my car back. Very polite and knowledgeable staff. If you have a ford car that needs anything, go nowhere but Al Packer's White Marsh Ford! My car runs like new now so I'm very satisfied! ZERO STARS! If I could check zero I would. AL Packer White Marsh is HORRIBLE for used car purchases!!!! Go someplace else. They purposely list prices that are well below market value then tack on FREIGHT fees and probably other fees to end up making it more than other, more honest dealerships to get people into the door. If you don't mind giving away your SSN and other pertinent information for a credit check after agreeing to the told purchase price then are given a $892 higher price by all means go here. My 05 corolla was totaled by my insurance company and I had to get a new car. It was already bad enough that my sweet $4k 05 corolla of only 66k miles when I purchased it was totaled (35,000 miles and 2 years later), I had to pay for my rental, and look furiously for a car. I ran here after a saw a significantly lower than market value on a 08 Toyota Prius on ebaymotors. Low enough to buy the car ASAP. I met this dealer George and I test drove it, checked it out, and called my mechanic dad about it. We had agreed that it was a good deal and proceeded with the paper work for the car with the promise that I could take it to a mechanic in the first few days. George claimed that the price I had was significantly lower than their internet price and he could not go any lower. He even hinted that he was doing me a favor to honor the price that there dumb selves had posted on ebay motors. At this point, I really liked George and was surprised at how cool and trustworthy he was compared to the other skeazeballs at the other dealerships that I had visited. I just wanted honesty and truth and he provided that for the first hour or so. After I signed a few papers. He went through all my paper work and ask for my SSN, drivers license etc. to run my credit score for the finance department. He ran that and then came back 15 minutes or so and had a hand written total that I would have to pay. It had $7000 (my down payment) and $9413 as the financing amount. He left me to handle another customer and I calculated my estimated costs and this quoted amount. This quoted amount was almost $1000 more than what it should be. I assumed being a used car there would be the car price, the standard $300 or so for MD plates and registration, the $200 dealer processing fee, and the 6% MD taxes. These were the same quotes that Apple Ford in Columbia and a fLandmark Honda and College Park Honda dealerships had quoted me on other used cars. I asked the dealer why it was higher than my amount and he said it was something I could talk to the finance department about and he proceeded to hurry me into signing other forms while changing the subject. He left again for another 15-20 minutes and then returned with a hand written itemized amount written with a $892 freight fee added to the other expected fees!!! He claimed that he didn't know of this fee and said that he just wanted to be honest about it and let me know that this is why it was much higher. A freight fee is only for new cars!!! This damn car was a trade in where the lady drove a TOYOTA into a FORD dealership. There was no effing freight fees needed. He should have been honest in the beginning and not wasted my time and hurt my credit score by telling me this before I signed anything. I called my dad and we talked to the supposed "manager" of this shady character and told them this was ridiculous that i was told one price and had my credit run and then was told a different price after i had waited 2 hours and filled out much paper work. They would not lower the price or wave that effing scam of a fee! This toolish, falling into the used car salesman sleazy stereotype, pissed me off and really surprised me. Honestly even with the fee it was still a decent deal, but that fact that George was not honest upfront and waited until after all this time and paper work to tell me it, I could not on principle buy a car from this scammer of a person or the dealership. He could have just said that the price was too low and that they could only sell it at $892 more, but he did not. I asked to speak to the sales manager that night at my mom's insistence and outlined all that had transpired and how upset I was, how they should be honest etc. and instead of apologizing, he yelled at me and accused me of lying! I ended up hanging up the phone on him when he was yelling and called him a f***ing a**hole. Buy a used car at Apple Ford or some other place and buy your new and used fords someplace else. Their competitor Ford Apple still has sleazy guys, but at least you know that they are sleazy when you first meet them and they don't throw surprises. The dealer acted like a friend, was trusting, and did not act sketch at all at first, and then threw a curveball and surprised me and proved to be the sleaziest of the sleazies. I'm sorry that this is harsh, but I don't want others to make the same mistake as me. It is a headache buying a car. read more
