I had ordered a matcha with chocolate cream but they got my order wrong. They gave me a mocha matcha. I did not want to say anything because I didn't feel welcomed. The parking is so hard to find! I had to go around the place 3 times before I could find a spot. The espresso machine was out at the coffee spot when I had visited unfortunately! There aren't any spaces for accessibility parking. The environment was quiet.

There is also a pastry that contains sausage. Their Croissant is 230 calories, a real flavor bargain. The more robust Almond Croissant is 470-480 calories. The last time I tried I could never find…read morea parking spot -but this time I came in the middle of the day during the week and it was easy to get a spot in the small lot. I had never been here before so was happily surprised that it was a serve yourself situation -- I always feel so much pressure to select something when you have to get it from the server behind a case. So when you walk in you grab your tray or to go container and some tongs and then you can meander around a look at the goods before making your selection which you then get yourself. Everything looked so good I was practically drooling! After making my selection of an almond croissant and a coffee cronut I made my way up to the counter. I also ordered a korean iced milk coffee -- no idea what it was but sounded good! I took everything to go and when I got home I jumped right into the croissant -- it was almost as hard a rock! It tasted good but it also tasted a day old, which was very very disappointing! The coffee cronut was good too -- it had many layers and was very rich. The coffee cream on it was average -- just basically didn't taste as good as it looked. Unfortunately I can never get those calories back, LOL. The Korean iced milk coffee was good but honestly couldn't taste a difference from regular coffee. Overall the presentation was top notch but the actual tasting experience was less than average. Don't know how much I would go out of my way to come back -- unless I wanted to try one of their cakes.

The titles of the coffees were a bit confusing, but the barista was able to give me a run-down and flavors and what their most popular ones were. The little home-made Poptarts are delicious, and they'll keep just fine until the next day too. They're crumbly (so beware eating them in the car!), but they're really good and soft. Great real-fruit flavors too. It's darker in there during the day (which I love), making it easier to see a laptop screen. Plus, they keep it nice and air-conditioned. I wish I could come here all the time.

I love how they collaborate with local businesses and bring unique flavors to their pastries. I normally get their weekend specials which change every weekend. My favorite so far has been this past week which was the guava cheesecake cruffin. As someone with Cuban parents who lived in Miami for years, this tasted like home in the best way. I'm sad it's only a one-time deal; otherwise, I'd be there every weekend to get one, and I'd be as big as a house haha. I simply can't say enough good things about this place, my only complaint was that the first time I went they put my cruffin (not in photo) in a paper bag so all the filling ran out on the paper bag so super messy and it was so hard to eat, I would assume they ran out of boxes that day but they should have mentioned that before I got one otherwise I would have eaten it there. Over the last year, the service and quality have gone downhill. This location is NOT set up to accommodate a rush / long line. The staff asks what you want at the refrigerator case, not giving you time to look at the entire selection available in the cases after that. The eclairs are delicious. The chocolate croissants are good. The almond croissants don't taste like almond at all. The quiches are so so. We got the apricot special and the fluffy apricot topping tasted off to me so I didn't eat the rest of it. All the other things that we've had there are just mediocre and nothing really special to warrant the high prices. The service people at this location need to take a lesson in hospitality and courtesy. They all exude the attitude that they can't be bothered to answer any questions. And they rush you through the line. Every time we come to JL we eat inside and never want our food to be boxed up. However, the default is to just box everything up. When we tell them that we are actually eating inside and would like things warmed up they roll their eyes at us or give us attitude like they couldn't be bothered. The last six times we have been there they have been out of Babka. This is not sold during the week and only on Saturdays and Sundays. They say that it is a specialty item and they sell other specialty items on Fridays, but for some reason, not the babka. And it's not able to be ordered online. After six times of going and not having it available, and with The attitude of the staff working here, we've decided to not come back to this location. I just find a different pastry shop to go to in Phoenix. It's highly overpriced for what you get. Many of the items are overly sweet and are starting to taste mass produced. Also The cloth chair cushions in the corner are absolutely filthy and that whole surrounding area is full of crumbs. I almost took a picture of it when we were in there, but did not. The little tables provided for that area were both wobbly.

I felt like I'm in a little town's gathering spot. I could also sense so many creative minds joining force to make this space colorful. I love the paintings, the stickers, the decoration, and the overall flow of the cafe. The old school cash register was too cute!! Free WiFi is a plus!! I ordered a Cubano coffee because it was their signature drink. It hit the spot!! With this being my first time, I got a punch card (yay!!) and they generously offered a homemade pastry to go with my drink. My jaw dropped. Fantastic Atmosphere and Workspace in Midtown, but Mind the Peak Hours…read more My friend and I visited this cafe on a mid-week afternoon looking for a productive spot to get some remote work done, and it proved to be an excellent choice. Logistically, midtown traffic in this area is a well-known hurdle, but the dedicated parking lot located directly behind the building makes arriving by car much easier. Inside, the design and atmosphere are an absolute vibe. The mismatched furniture, abundance of indoor plants, and view of the green canopy outside provide a perfect, refreshing escape from the summer heat. The menu is varied and high-quality. I ordered a matcha latte, which was excellent and refreshing, while my friend opted for a lunch sandwich and a latte. For true coffee enthusiasts, they also sell specialty house-roasted coffee beans retail, including a Guatemalan Antigua and another select house blend. The lounge offers plenty of comfortable seating tailored for focus and productivity. While the pricing is slightly higher than your average coffee shop, the exceptional atmosphere and amenities justify the cost. One quick tip for remote workers: The environment shifts noticeably after 4:00 PM. The space can become quite loud with patrons taking phone calls or conducting 1-on-1 meetings at adjacent tables. If you plan to work through the late afternoon, I highly recommend bringing a pair of noise-canceling headphones to remain undisturbed.
