He's worked with everyone in the music industry (not naming names, but everyone), so whether you need a studio, a full house, a spa--he's your guy. But the reason I'm writing this review isn't just about his stellar work. After many years of being lucky enough to call Mike my electrician, today I got to call him a superhero. Now look, please don't expect this kind of thing if you're a new client--but today I had a total catastrophe (non-electric--think delivery truck chaos threatening to take out trees and possibly my house), and Mike, seeing me majorly panicking, stepped in and saved the day. No hesitation. He's a problem-solver extraordinaire (and really strong!!). He's also just a really proud dad and husband, and that energy shows in everything he does. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but you want this human on your team. If you're lucky enough to book him, you won't regret it. The driver of this truck exhibited aggressive driving, for cing his vehicle into the side of ours, forcing us to brake and swerve to make room for his needless lane change. Martino: it's a business vehicle. It's a privilege to work for people. When your vehicle is on the road, it is representative of your place in the community. In other words: this place likely does not care about the work it does and likely cuts corners, probably taking advantage of trusting customers. The driver of the truck should have been arrested for his unsafe driving; not ticketed. If you call him to your home, I would recommend requiring a field sobriety test before letting him in your home.

I am writing this…read morereview as a concerned citizen who was nearly forced off the NY State Thruway near Plattekill, NY by one of their trucks. Apparently their repairman was late or on meth or just a complete maniac. He cut me off, jumped in front of an 18 wheeler, and continued to weave in and out of traffic at 95 mph. I tried to call the company to report that their truck (with their company name and phone displayed) was being driven this way but their phone just rings or returns a busy signal. Maybe they are out of business and the truck was stolen. Hopefully I can help spread the word to stay away from this irresponsible company. Nobody needs to die on the road on the way to servicing an A/C unit, thanks very much.

These guys are amazing. We needed someone to come out and fix a problem another contractor created…read more(light switches in our kitchen remodel weren't working). We called a few electricians and MercaWood were the only ones to pick up the phone (it was only 4pm). They came the next day and fixed the problem incredibly quickly and we're able to explain what went wrong in a way I could understand. They fixed a potential fire hazard Next time I'll remember not to try and cut corners by letting a non-licensed electrician do the wiring. I'll definitely be calling MercaWood the next time I need any wiring done or something goes wrong. A bonus is the owner is a great guy. He started this business to provide for his family and now he has a team of electricians. Not only does he pay them well, but he provides them 401k and healthcare, which is expensive and something most electrical companies don't provide their employees. We used HWS as part of a kitchen remodeling project. Our contractor asked us to use them. To put it…read morebluntly, working with HWS was the worst part of the project. Not only did HWS staff damage appliances and countertops, they created rework for other service providers. And, the owner wasn't nice about it. At all. Customers are afraid to talk to him. I haven't even gotten to the poor plumbing and electric provisioning. Our kitchen lights were inexplicably connected to our outdoor lights by HWS. When asked how to fix this, I was blown off.

They insisted on giving us SIX different quotes for one simple repair which was weird, then they charged us $500 and didn't even get our furnace working. Matt at Hot Water Solution came out ASAP, got our furnace working in 5 minutes and didn't even charge us for the visit, then came back within a week to do the rest of the work and it was still less than $500 total.
