Curious about the place prior to visit. My experience couldn't be worst! From order taking to eating experience.. very poor! Putting an order was an awkward experiment. The girl whispers and the guy mumbles.. I asked if they take card. They said "we take all" ordered food.. Waited for it to be microwaved & served. When I got it, rice was warm.. meat was freezing.. like they DEEP froze it over night. Forget thy only gave me two prices of meat as if they were saving the leftovers to take home? I asked why there was only 2 pcs they laughed & mumbled in their native language. I was more disgusted how they offered cold food.. after the second warming and 1 extra meat.. i was sadden more cause the food was still cold! They didn't care much or didn't speak English well enough to understand their error. Don't eat here with cold leftover food they they were more cheaper to provide the customer. With this experience I think I can do a better job. Not that I want to. But I know I won't come here again or suggest it to anyone of my clients! read more

The food is delicious in this pakistani/bangladeshi restaurant. It reminds me of Roti Boti in Astoria, which is my favorite restaurant in NYC. Dine in and they will give you a pitcher of water, a small side salad, and yogurt raita. No matter what you order, they seem to over charge by one dollar. Is it because I look white? :) I don't know. Basic take out or eat in Indian spot. Think of it as a fast food joint. This is NOT gourmet freshly made Indian food. They do have a grocery section for meats n spices n etc. And they do cater for large occasions which is made fresh based on your order. The restaurant portion which is on the left side is a bit stingy with their meats. Overall 3.5 stars. I gave it a 4 because it's function and resources it provides is highly underestimated. read more

After driving past this place for years, I was taking a walk and finally went in to check it out. I knew it was halal, but I had no idea exactly what kind of food was inside, and I was pleasantly surprised. I bought the lentils and chickpeas, and some rice pudding. The lentils and chickpeas were very tasty and the pudding was sublime. Plan to go back and try the other dishes. The people there were very welcoming and helpful. read more

I come to this place nearly every Sunday, in order to get my groceries, meat, and sometimes food. One of the reasons this is the best place in Staten Island is because of those three things. For groceries, this place is a regular market with moderate prices for Indian, Pakistani, Bengali, and Sri Lankan groceries. For meat, the butcher is very friendly and prices are moderate. Also it depends on the type of meat, since this place is only halal they only serve chicken, lamb, and beef. And lamb is slightly more expensive than chicken (pound wise) Now for the restaurant, this place is a gem located in a sort of low income area. The kebabs are spicy but scrumptious, the fish masala is okay (not exceptional not horrible but, sort of in the middle. The same is for the masala. However, the Biryani is exceptional, the Chana (Chickpeas) is very tasty, Palak Paneer is exceptional. It is like they spent the whole year in them. The naan is very fluffy and it is fresh when they give it to you. The sweets are authentic Pakistani delicates. And this is all for a very very low price. Also, the wait isn't long it is very short. All in all, with all these attributes, I give it 5 stars. read more

Since I moved to Staten Island from Brooklyn - I have been in search of good Pakistani food. Al Humza is not the best but probably a better option than Taste of Pakistan on Victory Blvd. The food here is a little above average. They have good chicken tikka, butter chicken, Chana masala, goat curry is all worth ordering. I also liked the parathas and naans here better than other restaurants on the island. They are clean and the staff is nice. If you can't drive to Brooklyn or Jersey for Pakistani/Indian food, this is probably only solid option on the island. read more

Today is the absolute last time I will ever buy from here. My husband and I both agree. We keep giving them chances but not once has our experience here left us feeling good. Today was the worst. I came in and no one made an effort to take my order at first. I kind of made eye contact so the guy came to take my order, but kept glancing away from me at the door or something multiple times while taking my order, making me feel like I was keeping him from something important, and like I had to hurry up, and like he was going to miss part of my order or something. He asked if I needed it heated up and I said no because I don't really care about piping hot food and we were going to eat it right afterwards. Now, here's where I may be wrong, but when places ask if I want something heated and I say no, they give me warm food, which is fine by me and what I was hoping for. But the food I was given was COLD, like, out of the refrigerator cold. . So I had to go home and pull out two pots to heat up the rice and curries and had to heat the samosas and kebabs in the toaster oven. Again, may seem "small" but when you're coming off a long day of work and then taking the kids to extracurricular activities and have a guest at home you need to feed, it's very inconvenient, the point of buying takeout is to save some time and not having to wash dishes. Anyway, moving on....the actual food was good in flavor, I'll always concede to that, I like their food, BUT, my husband's goat curry was half bones...some bits were literally all bone, and my guest's chicken curry had way too many bones as well. This is something that has always been the case every time we get curry from them. I'm sorry to take business away from fellow Muslims but I'd feel worse not warning people away from this place. Another time my husband went in to buy ground beef from them. They told him go to the restaurant side of the store. He was confused and explained multiple times he wanted raw meat, they insisted he go there. So he went to the restaurant side and they told him to go back to the store. Went there me and two NYPD officers were waiting to order (mind you I'm Pakistani) they skipped all three of us and went to Pakistani men who were wearing Shalwar Kameeze (ethnic clothing) I was wearing jeans nevertheless, that's rude and UNACCEPTABLE! It's not up to standards of healthy and good food. Food sometimes bad. They sell refrigerated foods for 3 to 4 days that cause severe food poison. Food inspection depart please please inspect them and give instructions to food quality. Otherwise close this restaurant. read more

Service is often slow, but food is great. This is a grocery store as well as a restaurant. Seating area is nice, and there are outlets where you can charge your phone (one of the most important things for me!) and the staff is very friendly. I personally love the kabobs, love the chicken tikka masala, love the channa. Chai isn't that great, but definitely not the worst. Overall a pretty good place -- would recommend. read more

Ive been to this restaurant multiple times for take out food and I swear everytime im disappointed. Food here is absolutely horrible and its sad because this is the only halal spot we have in Staten Island. Reason why im writing a review is I had there food last night and today I woke up with stomach pain and in and out of the bathroom. I am fed up with this place and how they make there food.
