The bread's crust held the whole thing well and the insides were chewy. The truffle taste stayed throughout the meal, and I think this is a classic combination done well. Cajun Chicken Pasta: It's rich, creamy, and contain a bit of heat. The sauce is just teetering over the point of being too much but is still cut down enough by the pasta. The chicken was plentiful and solid, and the portion is something I won't complain about. Service: It's a to-go spot, so nothing out of the ordinary happened when conversing with the staff. Stopped by Al Dente during a recent trip to Steelcraft in Garden Grove and had a good first experience. They are the designated stop for Italian food on property and they do not disappoint. Our party was torn between building our dream pasta dish or ordering a flatbread, but since we were ordering several items from all of the vendors to eat and share, we went with a simple pepperoni flatbread. The staff was friendly and our order came out within a reasonable wait time given they were busy at Steelcraft that day. Our flatbread was everything to be expected in a good way. A nice, shareable size. A solid sauce to cheese ratio. Plenty of pepperoni. We were more than satisfied with this tasty and filling meal. The price was also very affordable for what we received. I really wanted to try the burrata pesto pasta but it seemed like they took that out of their pre-set menu, so I customized my own. I ended up spending close to $20 because I added chicken and mushrooms to my order. It was very delicious and I liked how generous portions were. The lack of star is for the chicken being a bit overdone, the somewhat lack of spinach (I was hoping to get a decent amount to be my vegetable I could have asked for a lot I suppose), but also because the pink sauce was a little lacking on the cream and was a little more on the tomato side. I prefer my pink sauces to be really rich and this one was just under my preference. Overall though I would definitely get it again! Inside of Steelcraft, my son enjoyed the fettuccine Alfredo so much he wanted a second helping to go. I tried it and it definitely was pretty good, especially cause you wouldn't expect it from just a booth or spot inside of a larger food market, but was def worth it! After several failed attempts to try their food, today, I successfully caught them during operating hours. I got their build your own - Penne Pesto Cream Chicken pasta. Food was fresh to order, steaming, and appealing to the eye. I showcased it to my coworkers and they were all captivated by the smell and how delicious it looked. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the pesto sauce was bomb, moderately creamy and garlicy. Portion size is pretty generous. Definitely a place to check out for pasta lovers. A slept-on place in Garden Grove! Tucked away in Steelcraft, you'll find this little shack with different kinds of pastas and flatbreads. I thought they were quite decently priced versus some of the other options in the food hall, so I chose to get a prosciutto flatbread. We were given a buzzer, and it came out in around 10 minutes. This was my first time ordering food at Steelcraft as I've never been too interested in trying any specific place. I was craving pasta and this seemed like a decent place and gladly it was! I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Cream Pasta which is rather simple but rich and satisfying. This pasta is very rich with it being a cream based sauce with cheese and a bit of truffle oil flavoring. The truffle aroma isn't strong and you can't really taste it, but you can tell it's there. I do think that the pasta could use a bit of texture as it can get tiring to eat something so indulgent and creamy. The spicy fusilli in a vodka sauce was a surprise hit. I don't usually go for this kind of pasta but I really enjoyed it. The texture of the fusilli helped hold onto the pasta sauce. I added sausage and spinach to mine which was the right choice. What I like is that you're able to pretty much customize your pasta. There's a list of things you can add at no extra cost as well as some protein options that you can pay extra for. I can definitely see myself coming back when I have that pasta craving and will try creating my own pasta next time. The food was great and came out piping hot after a bit of a wait. I also wouldn't mind coming to Steelcraft again in the future with friends since it's a pretty nice open outdoor setting. Al Dente gets my stamp of approval, which doesn't really mean anything... but I'd definitely recommend it to pasta lovers that want huge portions and the ability to customize. read more

I've been on the hunt for a good pesto gnocchi that's more local instead of going out to LA, and wow this place delivers!!! I built my own pasta with gnocchi and pesto sauce. I added chicken, cherry tomatoes, garlic, and topped with Parmesan. I would hold off on the chicken next time for sure. It's a small amount, but for $2 more I actually can't complain too much. The QUALITY of the chicken did creep me out. I appreciate small pieces of chicken but these bits were kind of hard and cartilage-y.
