mild chicken sandwich --comes with black garlic sauce, cole slaw, and pickles
    Stephanie H.

the actual chicken patty is huuuuuge and extends well beyond the bun on both sides, so it's well worth the $9!! My friend and I got the mild sandwich after reading other reviews, and we both completely agree that it ain't really mild! There's def a kick to it, but it was manageable and that's coming from two who don't tolerate spice really well. I love love the cole slaw and the black garlic sauce is so creamy! The bun is so fluffy and toasty. I couldn't finish the whole sandwich in one sitting, so I was very impressed that the bun didn't turn soggy after a few hours with the amount of sauce it contained! This truck is located in a plaza parking lot along with 3 other food trucks, so there's plenty of parking! We went today (Saturday) around 4 and there were only 2 people in front of us, so we ordered and got our food very quickly! The best part is that they give you a buzzer once you order so you can go back in your car and chill instead of standing outside melting in this Houston heat! Very kind employees, so I'd definitely recommend supporting this local business!

Best hot chicken outside of Nashville! I found this sweet truck when I was late night yelp surfing while starving. I am always up for some place new so I made the trip cause I figured what the heck. Man, am I glad I took that gamble. I couldn't have ask for a better sandwich. I tried all the levels of spicy and they get pretty hot, so choose wisely. The chicken has a wonderful breading and there sauce is killer!!! You won't regret this little trip.

Huge AKO chicken with truffle fries & white. VERY GOOD.

I had made my review while AKO was still pretty new and my 1st experience was wonderful. I've been a 'frequent flyer' so I decided to write some updates: 1. Their chicken patty has gotten better and it seems bigger (which I won't complain about!). I was told they switched to a better quality brand of chicken. 2. Food is less oily and tastier. 3.  Customer service has been consistent and wonderful. They've been hospitable and cater to our needs. 4. They just debuted their TRUFFLE FRIES and I tried it for the first time. It was heaven in my taste buds!! They perfected the combo with their AKO chicken. And the white sauce was sooo good, it goes very well with the fries. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back. 5. Their coleslaw and pickles = perfection. Made from scratch! I think that they will do very well with brick and mortar if they have plans.. Giving them my 5 stars again. Go and try their new truffle fries, its to die for. I promise it won't disappoint.

Okay I have to say first of all 5 stars for customer service! They posted on IG that they sold out of sandwiches and I was so sad because the hubby and I were already on our way there and this place is far from where we live, so I wrote on their post and they immediately DM'd me and offered the last few sandwiches to us. So nice! What we ordered: I got the Mild sandwich which was a 4.5/5! I'm knocking down half a point because like others mentioned, this is definitely not Mild! Lol...I was legit a fire breathing dragon while eating this sandwich. I'd really like to request for them to bring the heat level down a notch so us weaklings could enjoy the sandwich more haha. I had to take so many breaks man...I was sad lol. The hubby got the Hot level sandwich which was delicious too! Tbh it tasted like the same spice level as Mild...his was just a tad spicier! He wasn't sweating like I was so it wasn't too spicy for him hahaha. I wish they had some fries to go with it! Maybe they can offer that in the near future. I'll definitely be back, but I'm praying that Mild becomes a little more tolerable haha. A little tip on reheating (since Covid 19 is making most of us go back home and reheat the food like it's suggested in this time) put your sandwiches in an oven at 200 degrees for a few minutes. Perfection! Or you could always microwave it but who likes a soggy sandwich?!

I've been wanting to try this place for so long and im so glad i finally did! they relocated and this time its so much closer to my side of town;; i've tried so many chicken sandwich joints but this one is probably one of my faves! the food didnt feel heavy and it was so cheap too! The service was also amazing i already cant wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Alright come thru!!! Doing this pandemic I really wanted to grab a good chicken sandwich and this popped up since I was in the neighborhood. I'm glad I stopped by. They only sale sandwiches and chicken tenders. They were out of the chicken tenders but I understand why. The sandwich was moist and the Cole slaw was a good compliment to the sandwich. I would definitely recommend to go and try.

    Hot Chicken Sandwich

This was one of the biggest and the best chicken sandwiches I've had. Like for real, I don't want to take any business away from these guys, but my wife and I had to split one sandwich because it was enormous (also we had been to two breweries, so we already had a good amount of beer in us). We had the "hot", but they do go spicier than that with their sandwiches. Honestly, I'm kind of a baby about spicy-ness, but the hot sandwich was exactly as much as I could handle comfortably. It was amazing. Plus, I LOVE pickles on a chicken sandwich, and I could be wrong, but it seemed like most, if not all the veggies on the sandwich were also pickled as well. Regarding COVID, everyone was wearing a mask, and they had hand sanitizer at the window. Honestly, with a food truck, that's about all you can do, and it seemed perfectly safe and clean. Also, the guy working the window was super nice! I promise it's not all the beer talking, this chicken sandwich hit the spot and was exactly what I wanted. Can't wait to hit them up again!

Ok, first: Location was so easy to find and very accessible. Wait Time: Acceptable The chicken: Tasty, Crunchy and Juicy The sauce: ooh the sauce Perfecto! The coleslaw: Fantastic! Its the best! from the little add ons you never see on a coleslaw followed by a mixture of complimenting flavors. The spice level: Ok, this one is eraonal preference, i like spicy foods but not the burning hot kind of thing, and their mild is my kinda spice, the hot spice which is the middle spice is tolerable but too much for my liking. The Overall Sandwich: Bomb! hard to beat Is the price Appropriate?: Definitely, given its size and the taste, its like a gourmet quality. Will I come back: Oh yes! I cant wait

Got a chance to try @ako.chicken this past weekend . The 1st Filipino Halal Chicken Sandwich on Telephone road. I was looking forward to a hearty chicken breast for a sandwich but when they showed me the size of the chicken tenders . Trust me when I tell you , you will be full from just one sandwich. I love the options that they give for hotness. ( No heat , Mild, Hot, Extra Hot and It Burns).I tried the regular hot this time , not to over due it but next time I will definitely crank up the heat. Serving sliders, truffle fries and tenders with select sauces to enjoy with. You definitely need to get over to @ako.chicken and try it out for yourself. Send me pics and make sure to tell them Timmy sent you! @Timmyinthecity on Instagram

It's a decent chicken sandwich, but it's not something that blew me away. Nothing about it really made it pop for me. No complaints about portion size, the chicken is huge. It stuck out on both sides of my sandwich. I recommend splitting one. Got the 3/5 (Hot) spicy level. There isn't really that much of a kick. The spice also doesn't linger either. So if you're looking for something spicy, you can definitely go up a level or 2. Super quick service. Called their number and they had my order ready within 10 minutes. No complaints about service. Really friendly and quick!

My perfectly fried and season Angry Bird with parmesan garlic fries.

Awesome chicken sandwiches at Ako Chicken on Hwy 6 & McCormick St. I called ahead because I had an order for 8 people. They told me it would be 15 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes later and waited for 5 minutes. The food was ready exactly when they said it would be. We tried the Fine Bird, the Crazy Bird, the Angry Bird and the Fire Bird. Everyone loved their sandwiches. Will definitely return.

    Combo- $15

DON'T GET THE MEAL. $5 extra for a small amount of fries & drink. They should give a box of fries if they're charging $5 extra for a meal. The truffle fries tasted really good with ample seasoning, but I just wish they gave a box of it for the price we paid. (Saw a picture with a box of fries. Maybe that's 2 orders of fries?) The chicken sandwich breading is like the ones that they use for fried catfish, so I wasn't a big fan. It made the sandwich dry. (Some Yelp pictures aren't accurate) The flavor of the sandwich was not Nashville style hot chicken, but it was still good. We got the Hot level of spice which was more of a medium.

When we arrived, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially considering the large group we brought. They took our orders quickly, the food came out at a nice pace, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-kept. I ordered the French Dip. It was not the worst I have had, but definitely not the best either. The baguette was softer than I expected, and I prefer sturdier bread since the au jus usually makes it soggy. The roast beef was also a little dry, although dipping it in the au jus helped with that. On the side, I chose the potato salad, which was very good. It was seasoned well, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, and it had a refreshing flavor that balanced out the creaminess of the mayo-based sauce and the heaviness of the sandwich. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but the food did not leave a lasting impression. It was good for a casual meal with a group, though I would not go out of my way to come back on my own.

You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in sausage and deep friend. It was a nice treat and something I will not be sharing next time. The pretzels were also very good. Our waitress suggested some cheese sauce to accompany those. These sticks of goodness were excellent. For my entree, I was stuck on a few items as their menu is pretty extensive. Our waitress said my option for the Pork Milanesa was the way to go, so I did. I've had milanesa at Mexican restaurants, but never in a tavern nor prepared this way. This was hand battered in panko and then topped with a mushroom gravy. It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but I substituted the veggie for mac and cheese. This dish was very good and the portions were very generous. Enough for me to have a full second meal minus the sides. The pork was thinly pounded and kept it's crunch even doused in gravy. The gravy was rich and very delicious. My family got a mix of items like the philly cheese steak, flat iron steak salad, tavern salad, and chicken fried steak. For research purposes and for my loyal readers, I tried everything. There wasn't anything that was bad to me. We were full so desserts didn't happen on this trip. Overall, Gordon Street Tavern is a solid spot that I would happily return to if in the area.

They have so many different mix-ins for their pancakes, anyone's bound to find their perfect mix-in combo. I think I found mine with the banana pecan mix-ins and sides of strawberry butter. The pancakes are huge. I ended up taking one home. The bananas weren't too sweet and had the perfect amount of ripeness for the pancakes. I ended up getting 2 sides of strawberry butter but could've easily eaten like four of the small . The biscuit with the big breakfast was fluffy and delicious especially with the yummy strawberry butter. The eggs over medium were cooked perfectly. The cheddar jalapeno grits were a little bland but did the trick. I tried my pal's hash browns and they were perfectly seasoned and thoroughly cooked but not crispy. The hash browns are definitely the better option over the grits. The bacon was delicious and perfectly crispy. I asked the waiter for crispy but not burnt bacon and he got it just right.
