Combo plates

Small little place, but enough room at the bar top to get a single sushi plate. Very nice options and the flavor hit spot on. Teresa was great server and the place was busy

Fresh fish but we only really liked the lizzy roll. We don't really like a lot of sauce on our rolls so we kept it simple and ordered rolls that were really simple with fish and less deep fried / overly sauced items. Lizzy roll was good but the pieces were so inconsistently cut, some rolls were bigger and smaller. A small detail but something I noticed more here than at other restaurants.

Very nice, very small restaurant. My gyoza was very good. The presentation of the roll was lovely. My granddaughter enjoyed her Lion King roll.

Firstly the prices on the menu on their website are wildly different from the in store prices. They seem to be aware of this when I mentioned it. I ordered two rolls for pickup and it cost me $56. Secondly, the sushi, while decently tasty, is neither worth that price in terms of quality or quantity

Chicken Teriyaki

Well, things have changed. The chicken teriyaki used to be scrumptious, but now the sauce is no longer available or at least I thought so. I tried ordering extra sauce but all I got was dry chicken. My mason street roll had under cooked rice as well.

Almost comically small, there isn't much room inside, but the food is incredible and more than worth the wait for a seat. Managed to get in just early enough to be the only ones in the place, which was quickly filled before we left, and there seemed to be a steady stream to go order headed out the door. The limited seating clearly doesn't discourage those who appreciate good food, and I don't blame them. Every aspect of their sushi was impressively goodz from rice, to the quality of the pickled ginger, so (most importantly) the fish itself. I am also happy to report that their Japanese beer selection is both solid and well priced, which is a big plus for me. I do enjoy sake, but prefer a good, clean finishing beer with my sushi. Highly recommend this small, but mighty spot!

I love this small cute restaurant! Their service is great and they're serving the food very fast! I come to this restaurant couple times and it becomes my favorite restaurant! Recommended to all of you!

Such a great hole in the wall joint! Located on a very unassuming street in fidi, Akiko's only seats about 15-20 at a time. The inside is a bit cramped, needing to squeeze past 2 tables to get through the front door. Once you're inside, you see the charm of the place. It's intimate, and a bit like stepping into a tiny corner of Japan. Service is incredible; the wait staff are beyond kind. Selection of rolls is not as large as on some other menus, but fish is fresh and the presentation is a delight.

Holy cow. When I ordered omakase I was not prepared for the volume of food! 15 courses of food and I was stuffed! It came with a price tag to match: $170 plus $8 for a small Sapporo plus tip and taxes came to $241. Everything was absolutely delicious. This is a great spot to eat solo. It's tiny with only 15 seats. Staff was very friendly and quickly brought out each course. The only thing that wasn't good was the chestnut cake. I just didn't like it. But maybe ask what the market rate on omakase is before you order...

The sushi wraps were good but they can be a bit messy. 2 sushi wraps, 1 ramen, 1 sushi roll, seaweed salad, 2 sodas, came out to about $90. We'll be back to try more.

We were seated pretty quickly on a Sunday evening, and there were a couple of other parties there. They had a sign advertising a special where you can order two items from a list and it comes with soup, salad, and rice, but we ended up just splitting two house special rolls - the Salmon Mango roll and Rock N Roll roll (tuna, avocado, spicy mayo). Both were delicious. I particularly liked the Salmon Mango roll - it was a perfect mix of sweet and savory. The rolls came with 8 pieces each and each piece was a good size, so it was plenty for two of us. I also got a Sapporo beer (bottle) to sip on. Overall, good experience - quick, efficient service and satisfying meal.

You can pick up to 4 dishes each time, then added to cart. When your dish is coming, you see the light flashing, then a nice train carries your happiness over. Once unloaded, you push a button and wave bye bye to the train departing. Yes. Super fun for kids. I ordered some sashimi, tofu salad and some sushi. They are super fresh! Service is fast, consistent and friendly. My kids enjoyed goyza, soup, onion rings and some cooked sushi's. We would love coming back again. I can see this to be our go to place in Japan town.

I think expectations are usually low when going to these types of spots but given the quality and price, it's actually pretty surprising. I usually stop by for dinner on weeknights. It can get busy sometimes but I've never waited more than 10-15 minutes. Service is quick and friendly. The goal is to get you seated and taken care of right away. Once you sit down, it's game on. Chefs are busting out all different kinds of dishes for you to try. They also take requests if there's something on the menu you'd like to try. I love not having to commit to a roll and being able to try a ton of different things. Admittedly, I keep coming back for the seared walu. The plate color lets you know the price of what you're getting. Most plates come with 2-4 pieces and run from $3 - $8. I can make this dinner as cheap or expensive as I'd like!

It kind of makes me feel like I'm in a station since it's a counter space is right out in the open in a corner amongst all the cute little boutique shops and dessert places between Peace Plaza and the indoor bridge. $120 for the sixteen-item omakase set when we went back in February 2025. Courteous, polite service. They provided a wet towelette for us to wipe our fingers and instructed us to eat each sushi piece in one bite. The temperature of the fish was not too warm and not too cold. I loved the variety of sashimi offered, especially the charred ones! Out of all the dishes, the smoked trout with the egg yolk and the Hokkaido scallop stood out. Only dish I wasn't too crazy about was the squid and pickled lotus root/eggplant, which was shocking to me since I normally love all those things! The texture of the pickled lotus was starchy. The first round of nigiri included iwana, miyabi tai, inada, and kanpachi, all incredibly fresh and well-balanced. Then came sashimi with three slices of umi masu, followed by another round of nigiri: itoyoridai, kurodai, hirame, and a rich, melt-in-your-mouth otoro.
