Jake is a miracle worker. He put in some serious time on my car (a 2010 black Camaro) and completely rejuvenated my paint job. He took up some significant water spotting and car wash marking and restored it to new condition. My honest review : Called Rich in the morning and returned my call later on that day to setup a appointment the next day at 8:00am. He did the detail within 4hours and he is mobile which was nice so he comes out to your place. I've asked about claying and he doesn't believe in it as it scratches the car, ceramic coating he told me that is the newest craze, overpriced and protects just like a regular synthetic sealant. As he was in the business why should I question his experience and knowledge about detailing. I've asked to remove water spots on my car and tells me that he can only take off the ones on the body and not on the glass even though I told him the it's only very light on the glass but still refused ( at least he applied sealant/wax on the glass). He cleaned and vacuumed the interior, clean the door jambs and trunk area after the whole detail was done. The experience at that time was good. Skip a couple days and I figured I take a once over on the car. I ran my hand across the top of the hood, roof top side of both bumpers as they are more likely to get contamination. As I knew, this car needed a clay. Left over wax was still on my glass, bumpers and the side of the car. Streaks on my inside of the glass are very noticeable. I have aftermarket wheels and upon close inspection he has left fine scratches on them. My rear bumper has also had fine scratches. This is the guy who raves about a wax/sealant that he only used this certain product. I went back and cleaned up all the imperfections and it was fine. Went to work early morning and raining, good let's test this wax/sealant that he likes so much. Drove in the rain, under the sun the whole day, came home, lightly was the car and tested this so called wax- not approved by me as it slickness is gone, he said the wax lasts 6mo but didn't even last a weekend. I don't think I'll be using his service again and really bummed considering all the good reviews he had. Again take this with a grain of salt as this is my personal experience. read more

I've been getting my car detailed for over two years now by Rich. First, he is very responsive when I text or call for an appointment. I usually get in the same week I call, if not it will be the following week. Second, he is very reliable. When he says he'll be there at 9 AM, he shows up at 9 AM! Time is very important to me and I love the fact that he shows up when he says he's going to show up. Lastly, the quality work he puts out surprises me every time. Although my husband and I have been using his service for over two years I am astonished with how clean he gets my husbands work truck. My husbands truck is about a year old but if you look in the inside, most times it looks about 10 years old. I am beyond happy that I found Rich! I was so tired of looking at my "its-obvious-that-you-have-small-children" car. Snacks stuck between the seats, sticky...whatever that is, on my carpet. I thought for sure that Rich was going to faint when he saw my car! Just a crime scene, really. But he took one look at it and said "oh this is just a typical car." My superhero! Initially Rich said 3 hours, which is expected, because I was asking for a DETAIL and not a vacuum. He arrived on time and introduced himself. Super nice guy! So I gave him the talk. Explained that I've gone to many people for interior details and have never been 100% satisfied. There's always been "forgotten" areas in the past, like in between the seats, which bugs me! Also I have an SUV, which means everything can get into your seat tracks but you can never get anything out, unless your name is Rich. They are CLEAN. Rich said that he never leaves until he is completely satisfies with his work. That truly says something about him and Akamai Detailing. It took him a total of 5.5 hours, but you could eat off of my floors, if I decide to let anyone back into my car. He was very equipped with everything he needed to do an excellent job. All he asked for was a water hose, and he needs an outlet for his extension cord. Did I mention that his prices are unbeatable! $175 for the work that he did on my car (SUV with 3rd row seating) and he comes to you! I didn't need to leave my house and my car. I got to stay home and do laundry and enjoy my day while he worked non-stop. Hands down the best $175 I've ever spent on a detailing service. Jake and his crew have been detailing my BMW for the past six months and I've been extremely pleased with the service! Wow! My five year old minivan looks brand new!! I needed a detail from years of use and abuse by me, my kids and my dog & more importantly paint over-spray (a paint company recklessly painted a house next door and was lazy and did nothing to protect my car from the over-spray). Akamai was able to remove all of the paint and even some cement that somehow managed to find its way on to my rear bumper (I live in a new community with lots of construction). Superb job! I didn't know my car could look that good again. Detailed my 2002 Audi TT roadster, and every part looked new again, including the rag top. The interior looked like a brand new car. Paint had a mirror finish, and the engine bay looked like the car had zero miles. Faded headlights were crystal clear afterwards. After that I had him do my CBR 1000 and he made that look brand new. It's been 3 months since my car has been detailed, and just a light wash keeps the paint just as shiny with the sealant he put on it. Jake was extremely professional, and knows a lot about detailing.
