This cafe recently opened 2-3 months ago, used to be an arcade/claw machine spot called Sweet Cat Cafe. It's like 5 min away from my home, so it's very convenient. Decent space wise inside. Not close to the 7 subway station, maybe a 15 min walk from Main Street.
They accept both cash and card, I don't know about Apple/Google Pay though. Staff is friendly, helpful and patient. They have different drinks like flavored lattes, espressos, cold brew, milk teas, hot chocolate, and slushies. There's no food of any kind on the menu. Only drinks though. Would love to see food in the future like sandwiches and desserts.
Different kinds of seating next to the register counter like high chairs and camping chairs by the entrance. There's even a single comfy armchair near the white walls. The coffee shop gives off a sense of cozy vibes like you're staying in the living room at someone's house.
The colorful record albums on the wall and a Christmas tree in the back create a warm ambiance as highlights of AK Family Cafe. There's even a single restroom stall for customers. You can find a few wall outlets too and they charge fast. There's free wifi but you may have to ask the staff for its password.
Now for the hot pistachio latte, I think this spot has high potential of being a unique cafe in Flushing. However, I was expecting a hot drink instead of lukewarm temperature. I was a little disappointed to say the least.
Also, they didn't fill the latte all the way to the top like most cafes would. Therefore, I docked a star off. Like I said, there's very high potential but it's still getting there because it's a fairly new cafe. I'm in no rush to stop by again anytime soon though. read more
